We've had a lot of experiences with A/C companies and AirMax is by far the best we've encounter. They've done a lot of jobs for us as a family, installing a new HVAC unit, rerun mini split line sets, install mini split pumps, etc... At first, it was very hard for us to find someone who was knowledgable about mini splits and that didn't hate on them. But this family-owned company can literally work with any system. We always end up happy after every single job, super clean! Unfortunately we have not been so "lucky" with this company. They installed a replacement HVAC system, and for the last 8-months we have had they repeatedly to the house. Eventually we hired an additional HVAC company for a "second opinion" and discovered that AirMax had done a "swap out." which means they failed to perform "industry standards" in the installation process (which saved them a lot of money). Currently we are seeking resolution through the court system. We wish you better "luck" than what we have experienced. read more

DO NOT TRUST Airmax. BUYER BEWARE of Airmax quotes, and pricing. You can't trust anything Airmax employees say. Originally I was quoted $120 for diagnosis (3 other competitors are $80-$100) and if the repair was done, this amount would be applied to the labor of the repair (this is not offered by competitors) and cover the entire labor of the repair (no matter what the repair) and I would just have to pay for parts. I was surprised by this and verified 3 times AirMax Heating & Air Conditioning's pricing structure of a repair following the diagnostics. The office staff/scheduler said the serviceman usually is done in a fraction of an hour. The serviceman diagnosed the circuit braker blew out half of the 60amp 2 poll breaker and said the total fix would not be greater than $240 and he had to go get the part. I figured that made sense. The cost of most parts, post pandemic seem to have doubled or quadrupled in cost due to supply chain and import tariffs (inflation), so it was reasonable to think that a 60 amp dual pole breaker should be covered estimating its cost no more than $120. So I give verbal authorization. The office staff/scheduler was correct, the serviceman was finished under an hour. The service puts her on the phone for arranging payment. I ask for an invoice. The office staff/scheduler emails it and the invoice say $280. When I checked pricing on the part 60 amp double pole breaker to see why we are not under $240 but over $240 at $280, Home Depot has the part listed under $20 at no matter what brand, so I'm really confused at this point. I replied to the invoice stating all this and the owner calls and says The office staff/scheduler made a mistake and they charge $120 and hour for labor plus parts and that they are the only ones in town that will apply the diagnosis fee to the repair cost. Even with this math we should be at $140. He thought for sure I was quoted $280 but realized that I was quoted no more than $240. I made the decision to go with Airmax and not 3 other competitors after asking pricing of the repair following the diagnostic specifically 3x to be crystal clear on pricing structure of Airmax so to compare and know what I would be getting into before committing. The owner wanted me to pay for the "mistake of his staff" at $240. As a business owner you are responsible for your business, staff, training them and brand. I'll pay the $240 that the serviceman quoted, but I don't feel good about it nor do I feel any of the diagnostics labor was applied. It feels like bait and switch and certainly false advertising of applying the diagnostic fee, so at $240 I'll take the time to leave a detailed review of my experience online. I'm sure you can understand if you were in my position. The owner did not respond, so I paid the invoice and here is my review. Can do the work, fast, but not honest. The gimmick of applying the diagnosis fee is just that a gimmick and fake, to get a higher fee out of you. They are going to charge what ever the want to repair and not apply the diagnosis fee or if you call them on it they will just up their repair fee by the amount of the diagnosis fee. I called Airmax and informed them that I needed my small Fujitsu wall air conditioner unit recharged with Freon, and nothing else, as I knew what the problem was. I specified that no evaluation of the unit was necessary, just the recharge. The lady quoted me $125.00. There was no ambiguity in my request. When the service technician arrived, he removed the side cover of the unit, recharged it, and completed the job in 15 minutes. He then informed me that the cost would be $380.00. I was quite surprised and mentioned the $125.00 quote I had received. After some back-and-forth communication, they agreed to charge me $280.00, which is still $165.00 more than the original quote. While $380.00 might be the standard rate, I would have shopped around if I had known. However, the $125.00 quote seemed reasonable, so I didn't look any further. Was it a misunderstanding? I don't think so. It feels more like deception to me. read more

They deserve a 5 star review. It was going to be over 110 plus again and the evening before (07/07/24) the capacitor stopped working. I called them the following morning (07/08/24), and he was so friendly to talk to, and booked an appointment for the same day between 1-3pm. The gentleman came on time and had it fixed quickly and showed me the part and why it stopped working and why. It was such a fantastic experience especially after calling a few other places that either did not call back, were rude or could not come until the following day. The bonus was having such friendly and quick service and it was affordable. Myself and my 3 big house dogs will be back to a cool and comfortable in no time. It's the worst of summer, and my A/C stopped blowing cold air. This happened at night with temperatures still at 90 degrees outside at 10pm. I called AirMax early the next morning, and they had someone come out within 2-3 hours. Eduardo showed up on time (actually earlier than planned), and he fixed the problem right away. AirMax was recommended and I am pleased with their prompt service. My A/C went out and I had been looking around for companies in town. AirMax was by far the best we encountered. We gave them a call, the next day a service technician came out and diagnosed the issues present with the very old unit I had on my home. After reviewing the options provided, I decided to install an entire new unit rather than repair our old one. Less than 24 hours of the diagnosis, a new A/C unit was installed in my home. I hope I'm disparaging the correct company. The person (Luis) we dealt with to repair/service our swamp cooler is not the same person I'm reading about in most of these reviews! I called Luis on the 6th to repair our cooler. The probable problem was a broken belt. We could hear the motor running but no air was blowing out. He said he couldn't come out till Wednesday morning at 7:00am. He didn't show up till 8. He found the broken belt. He asked if we wanted the cooler serviced. It would consist of replacing the belt, pads and oiling whatever necessary. After taking about an hour to acquire the parts he returned and did as he said. He also washed the panels and removed salt(?) build up on the panels. He said to turn the cooler on and there was air being blown out. The charge was $180. The air was still hot in the evening. I attributed that to temperature outside. I waited to see if it would cool off overnight. There was no improvement. I called Luis and told him the problem. I didn't think the pads were getting any water. He said he would be out that afternoon. I waited till 5:45pm and no show. I called him again and I said we're looking at tomorrow morning? I remembered that he had me turn the cooler on after he had already replaced the panels. He said he had a job that would finish by 10:00 and be over afterwards. I waited till 11:15 to see when he would be over. No answer and I left a message. Called again at 12:00pm. Left a message for him to tell me if he was coming at all. No return call. My wife said to cut our losses and call another company. That person repaired (new pump) in twenty minutes. One additional note. During this very uncomfortable process I was informed that Luis had gone to the Druids either for lunch or call it a day. As of this writing 6:07pm I have yet to get any response to my calls. I would strongly warn anyone to utilize this person's business! If there was a star for minus-quality I would have picked that. Hopefully you've continued reading. I have to retract this review. This company sucks it took them way to long to finish the job. They were supposed to show up at 6 and wouldnt get to my house until 7 and never wanted to work past 12 and though it was perfectly fine leaving a pregnant mother and her 1 1/2, 5, and 6 year Olds in a house with the weather being in the triple digits. They left cigarettes butts everywhere. When they finished the job it looked awful and they blowout my brakers cut the electrical lines to my garage and laundry room leaving the wires exposed. As well as causing a gas leak that could have killed everyone in the house had I not got home and smelt the gas. resulting in pg&e having to shut off my gas. They sent there plumber back to find the leak he checked everything but the work they did in the roof and stated he couldn't find the leak and some how during this visit one of the other guys ended up cutting the power to my kitchen only God knows how when they were only supposed to find the leak. Don't make the mistake of hiring these guy for anything involving major work. This a reply to your feed back if your people can't stay past 12 maybe they should have come earlier instead of being late every day. Now first off there's no way pg&e contacted you, they dont even know you did the work. Secoundly pg&e didn't check your work they checked everything else and didn't find a leak in any of the existing gas lines. No one not even your plumber check your work. Thirdly there was no gas leak befor you guys did the job and there was no gas line in the roof and the gas was clearly coming from the vents. Also the hot air from the roof is coming through the vents making the house just as hot as the roof. I worked on a cement crew in the oil field in full FR gear, a hard hat and we never left befor 2pm. So maybe lie to some one who has less brain cells then yourself. read more
