It's never pleasant to find yourself in the middle of a 108 degree Bakersfield summer day with a suddenly not working AC unit, but that's exactly what happened to me last week. My ancient AC unit needed full replacement, so I did my due diligence and started calling around to get bids from different companies (while sweating profusely). Right out the gate, Julio was absolutely awesome. He not only answered after hours, but he took the time to explain different questions I should be asking all of the contractors to make sure I'm getting the best warranty possible and the most complete service. That alone was above and beyond-- he didn't have to do that, but it goes to show that not only is he about educating and empowering consumers. . . but that he also knows his product and service is incredible enough to stand up to that level of scrutiny. After getting multiple bids from different highly ranked companies around the town, Great Dane HVAC provided the best warranty by a mile (literally about double the length of what many others were offering across multiple categories), but his quote was also very reasonable (and beat many of the competitors who were offering smaller units with less warranty for $2000+ more). All along the way, communication with Julio was awesome-- whether via calls, texts, or in person, Julio communicated everything promptly and was just generally awesome. Julio is awesome and I can't recommend Great Dane HVAC enough. They just left a little bit ago and my house is already back to a normal, refreshing temp. They've got lifetime customers now! read more

A real life, honest, HVAC company that's not trying to overcharge, upsell, or bankrupt its customers. Great Dane was our second opinion, after the first company told us we needed a full reduct estimated at $10k. Great Dane came in, with video equipment to show us the damages, and completed all repairs for $450. Since they came in May, our house is actually cool again without the a/c needing to run all day long. read more

Wow such a great service! He came first thing in the morning, diagnosed and fixed my AC in less than a hour. Highly recommended! 5

Quick to respond, and quick to complete the work well. Worth every penny. Highly recommend

Great personalized service and professional! Appreciate his explanation of the job. Came when he said he would!

I came home to an AC blowing hot air. It was after work and nearly everyone was closed. Found Great Dane, called and got an immediate response. I told them my AC's symptoms and what I thought was the source of the problem. They confirmed it was the most likely issue, check his parts inventory and told me they could be at my house first thing in the morning. Next day, they we're running a little late, but kept me informed on their new expected arrival time. Which I really appreciated. When they showed up, they were friendly and professional. It took them about 15 minutes to confirm the diagnosis, swap out a new part and have me up and running. Total price for the service was very reasonable compared other companies I had seen. Overall, was very happy with the service I received and would highly recommend Great Dane read more

I really wanted it to work with this company but our relationship was over before it even started. I got stood up. Twice. I understand professionals get busy & contractors are notoriously famous for leaving people hanging, but guess what? Our time is valuable, too. We set up the first appointment, I took time off & he never showed. I text him to find out if he was still coming, no reply. I believe in 2nd chances, so I messaged him through here, he replied & said he could be here the following Saturday. No show again. Needless to say, it's incredibly frustrating & unprofessional. If you got him to show, please let me in on your secret. P.S. His check is still sitting on my table.. read more

Julio is great. We had a concern of our home where all the insulation was clogged up in one of the ducts. He squeezed me in on 2hrs notice. He came to confirm our duct was an obsolete duct and the old owners never closed it up. Fair prices for what he does and will also probably have my thermostat upgraded in the near future. read more

AC was blowing hot air day before the first heat wave here in Bako. Called early in the morning and by 1130am my capacitor was replaced and blowing cold air. Fair price and gave me a text saying their were 15 min away. read more

My AC went out in the evening and immediately I was concerned because the next couple of days were expected to be high 90s with little to no reprieve in heat. Living in Bakersfield and working with electronics, AC is definitely a luxury that cannot be missed. I requested a quote late at night, and received a response early the next morning and with an available time slot that worked out great for me. Julio came and within one hour had my AC unit up and running and cooling my house back down to a comfortable temperature. Julio also was mindful of wearing masks and gloves, and made me feel comfortable to leave him alone while he did his work on my AC unit. I would highly recommend this companies services and use them again for future maintanence. read more

One of my units wasn't cooling well and I had not had them serviced for a few years. I requested a quote last night around 6 pm, Julio responded in a few minutes and scheduled the appt for this morning. Julio arrived on time, got to work cleaning my units with his no-rinse solution, checked the pressure and power readings told me what I needed. He added some freon, SHOWED ME a bad capacitor and had the part that I needed on hand. Julio didn't mind answering all the "homeowner" questions and educated me on how the system works. Unit is already cooling 10 degrees more than before the service. Great job Julio. I'll be calling him this fall for a heater tune-up!! read more

Honest HVAC company. Julio came out to service the units and make sure that they were ready for the summer. He told me the units were looking great, didn't need to be replaced quite yet and changed filters for me, said that our units will be okay for the summer and that he will be back out next year to check on things. Thank you for the honest, affordable service and unit cleaning!! read more

Extremely easy to work with these guys. Julio is extremely knowledgeable and very quick to respond to any questions. Had to replace our old AC unit and they did an amazing job. The house has never felt cooler inside than it does now. Didn't think it was possible with the crappy Bakersfield summers. Will definitely use them again in the future. This review is long overdue! Julio provides a top notch service. Last summer, we were told by Bland AC that we needed 10lbs of Freon (not true). Julio came in and diagnosed our issue and only used 5lbs, and completely saved us from spending thousands of dollars. We truly appreciate his professionalism, honesty, and kindness, and will definitely be using him in the future. If you need someone trustworthy, use Julio. You will not regret it. read more

Julio did a great job with servicing our AC and installing our wifi thermostat. I highly recommend this company! Exceptional service. Great attitude. Extremely knowledgeable with home HVAC systems. Explained everything going on with my unit. Fixed a problem that 2 other companies have failed to address properly. read more

Very timely service but way to high priced. 20 min of labor and a very cheap part for a big bill.

Amazing customer service!! Answered all questions before I committed to having the work done and I could tell that Julio believed in the products that I was getting. Got an air scrubber installed and had an extra vent added in my master. Needed better attic access and they were able to add a crawl space that could accommodate more than a small child... awesome!! I'm very happy with all that was done and will continue to work with them in the future. Thanks again!!! read more

Had a great experience with Great Dane HVAC. Julio fit us in quickly because our AC stopped working and it has been getting hot so we were really worried! He checked out our system, fixed the problem immediately and gave me a bunch of tips on how to keep the house cool in the most affordable way. Very honest and trustworthy, even teaching me how to check the error messages myself. Very reasonable price too. The compressor in our AC went out this past week when it was 105 throughout the whole week. After searching everywhere to find the best/most reliable company, I came across this company thanks to yelp and their messaging services. Julio from Great Dane HVAC was the quickest to respond and offered the best quote for what we needed to get done. He's a honest man who doesn't try to take advantage of people and takes pride in his job. He went above and beyond after replacing our compressor to find out that the builders of our house took some shortcuts that may have caused the compressor to blow out in the first place. He thoroughly explained what was going on and what steps we should take next. Awesome service, great guy, and we will be contacting him again whenever we need his services! read more

If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would! Gas company came and flagged my heater in the middle of winter in Tehachapi!! We had no heater and were freezing!! Especially with my 15yr old Chihuahua! The owner answered my call at 8 am on a Sunday at that too and was so friendly and willing to drive all the way to Tehachapi the very next day to fix the "issue" for us and get out heater back up and running. I sent him some photos of the "issue" and ticket and he was able to actually facetime me and find a solution through the phone! Got my heater up and running. Absolutely recommend. Honest. Quick to find a solution. Reliable. && amazing prices at that too. Especially because the drive to Tehachapi is a 40+ min drive! Definitely go with them for all your needs! Thank you!! read more
