It's never pleasant to find yourself in the middle of a 108 degree Bakersfield summer day with a suddenly not working AC unit, but that's exactly what happened to me last week. My ancient AC unit needed full replacement, so I did my due diligence and started calling around to get bids from different companies (while sweating profusely). Right out the gate, Julio was absolutely awesome. He not only answered after hours, but he took the time to explain different questions I should be asking all of the contractors to make sure I'm getting the best warranty possible and the most complete service. That alone was above and beyond-- he didn't have to do that, but it goes to show that not only is he about educating and empowering consumers. . . but that he also knows his product and service is incredible enough to stand up to that level of scrutiny. After getting multiple bids from different highly ranked companies around the town, Great Dane HVAC provided the best warranty by a mile (literally about double the length of what many others were offering across multiple categories), but his quote was also very reasonable (and beat many of the competitors who were offering smaller units with less warranty for $2000+ more). All along the way, communication with Julio was awesome-- whether via calls, texts, or in person, Julio communicated everything promptly and was just generally awesome. I told them my AC's symptoms and what I thought was the source of the problem. I really wanted it to work with this company but our relationship was over before it even started. I got stood up. Twice. I understand professionals get busy & contractors are notoriously famous for leaving people hanging, but guess what? Our time is valuable, too. One of my units wasn't cooling well and I had not had them serviced for a few years. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would! Gas company came and flagged my heater in the middle of winter in Tehachapi!! We had no heater and were freezing!! Especially with my 15yr old Chihuahua! The owner answered my call at 8 am on a Sunday at that too and was so friendly and willing to drive all the way to Tehachapi the very next day to fix the "issue" for us and get out heater back up and running.
