I am sharing this review to document my full experience with McKenney's Air Conditioning, from service through final resolution. McKenney's originally installed my HVAC system and later returned after water was visibly draining from the secondary condensate system, which their technician explained indicated the primary system was not functioning properly. During that visit, they determined the drain pan from their prior installation was unlevel and reworked the primary condensate drain line, including resoldering copper piping. Secondary safety sensors were also installed at that time. Despite this work, the system was left in a condition that later failed, resulting in sudden water damage inside my home. Emergency mitigation and repairs were required and paid for out of pocket. I made repeated good-faith efforts to resolve the issue directly with McKenney's and through their liability insurer. Their insurer later acknowledged in writing that the condensate drain configuration did not include a vent/standpipe, yet responsibility for the damage was still denied. McKenney's also refused to pay for emergency services that were verbally authorized at the time. I pursued the matter through small claims court but did not prevail. While the legal outcome was not in my favor, the facts of the loss never changed: water damage occurred, repairs were necessary, and the costs were real and documented. Ultimately, my homeowners insurance paid the claim and is now pursuing subrogation against McKenney's and/or their insurers. Subrogation means the insurance company steps into the homeowner's shoes to recover the money it paid from the party it determines is responsible. Insurance companies do not pursue subrogation unless they conclude there is a legitimate basis to do so. In my experience, this loss resulted from negligent and faulty workmanship, specifically the failure to leave the system in a properly functioning condition after service. This was a preventable failure that occurred only after McKenney's performed work on the system. The small claims outcome reflected a misunderstanding of how the loss occurred, not an absence of evidence, and left me carrying the burden until my insurer stepped in. In my opinion, homeowners should avoid McKenney's Air Conditioning. There are many reputable HVAC companies that stand behind their work, correct their own mistakes, and do not force customers through months of stress, escalation, and financial exposure to resolve preventable damage. Based on my experience, McKenney's did not demonstrate the level of care, accountability, or professionalism homeowners should expect when trusting a contractor with their home. read more

Wow, what a difference competences makes. Had a heating failure, called a neighbor who own a HVAC shop. Came out the diagnosed the problem; could be this, maybe that, we'll get back with parts costs. Between the "repairs" that we won;t guarantee wil FIX the problem, then the replacement costss -as recommended by first firm. We sent into sticker shock. Called a second opinion in just in case! Second opinion revealed that both "faults" first diagnosed were 100% wrong, the repairs were made in less than a day at a fraction of the costs. We were told by another company that our AC unit could not be fixed and we needed to purchase a new $20k unit. I had McKenney's come out and they added coolant and fixed a broken hose and our unit now runs strong and cold McKenney's is fast, friendly but most importantly honest. Purchased a pair for HVAC units a few years ago, they are great, but I had a intermitten heater that would not come on on cold nights, They made 3 trips when called ASAP, found the problem and replaced a sticky gas valve and replaced it, No charge and works great and warmhouse, These guys are the best and refer them every chance I get !! read more

My experience with McKenny's this morning was hands down the best I've had with any contractor ever. The tech was professional, detailed, and clearly explained problems with both A/C units. Just observing his diagnostic process was unlike anything I saw from the last three HVAC companies. So, the last contractor said both units were beyond repair and quoted new units for $16,000 and this was over two years ago. We endured sans A/C all this time but this summer it was just too much to tolerate. McKenney's was recommended by a trusted friend and I couldn't be more pleased. Robert made the appropriate repairs and within hours my house was no longer 86 degrees but down to a comfortable 75 degrees for a tiny fraction of what other contractors quoted. I talked to the owners if this company and told them I had issues with A/C that theRE company repaired in February I purchased a house that had A/C issues and this company did the repairs so it would pass inspection for home to close the owner did not even charge the realtor for repairs said he donates his company time to help local Bussiness. Well it is June all the Freon leaked out I ask for them to come out and he said I am done donating my time I said don't you warranty your work he not free work and told me to put Freon in myself he would not help me I am a senior citizen and it is hot in this house. I would never ever use this company they are in cahoots with Realitor or buyer who sold house. read more

Moved into an older home and the air conditioner wasn't working right. Called McKenney's and made an appointment for the following day. A couple hours later I received a call that they had a cancelation and was asked if I would like for them to come out that day. I called another air conditioning service company and they referred me to Mckenney's because they were booked and I'm glad they did. I called on a Monday and the next availability was Wednesday I was fine with that because I was ready to cool down in my house and had already been suffering all summer. I actually received a call early Tuesday morning that they would send a technician out Great that's even better . The technician came out gave us some advice and did his thing. Before my air conditioner would run all day everyday and the coolest my house would get would be 88 degrees we had several fans plugged in and suffered many hot days. I called my regular a/c company and had to wait 5 days for them to come out and fix my a/c. When their tech came out he said that the system has no Freon in it and there must be a big leak, but he didn't have his leak detection equipment with him. Since the system is 25 years old he said I should just replace it. They gave me a quote and I called McKinney's to get a second quote on a new system. After telling Dave, the owner, the whole story he said he would like to take a look at it first. He came over and said that he didn't see an big leaks and would like to have his tech look at it. After adding 3 lbs. of Freon to it, the system was working fine and still is. It only took McKinney's 5 hours to fix my problem. They are very honest and I would recommend them highly. Great service, called an air conditioning repair company out and they said it needed this replaced and that replaced, that it would cost around $3,000. Decided to get a second opinion, called out McKenny's, and they had my air conditioner up and running, just said it was a pound and a half low on coolant. Filled it up and is working fine now.
