What a wonderful lunch we had today at the Dynamic African Restaurant. We brought friends who are new to Chicago from the Congo. They were overjoyed to find familiar food and music. The owner stopped by our table to welcome them to Chicago and reassure them they had found a comfortable, welcoming spot. The service was excellent, the food delicious, and atmosphere lovely. I recommend it highly!

I love this place! I have been here at least 5 or 6 times, and I have yet to be let down. When i first started coming they offered both Nigerian and Jamaican menu items, but since have changed the menu to only Nigerian. Also note that the restaurant is closed on some Sundays to have community meetings. Call to verify!!! First things first. This place has great music (naija music with music videos) and the hosts are always very welcoming. When you walk in, you are able to sit wherever you'd like, and the menus are normally already on the table. The hosts will immediately bring over water, and ask if you need any help deciding on menu items (always a plus) The FOOD: Everything is made to order, so be patient as your foodnis prepared. I'd definitely prefer to wait for fresh food than receive a quick meal that's been sitting out for a while. My go-to meal is Nigerian stew with white rice although I will sometimes order jollof rife with meat. I have also tried the okra stew which is also pretty tasty. Each of the items mentioned comes with a hefty serving of rice, with your choice of 3 meats. (Cow leg, fish, beef, chicken, or goat). The Nigerian stew has all of the perfect flavors with just the right touch of heat so it's not too overbearing. Although I have never been a fan of okra, the okra stew is really good (not slimy haha). The Service: the restaurant overall is family style, so expect to see the regulars and the hosts mingling and chatting about every day things. Also don't be caught of guard if someone asks for your opinion of something haha. The hosts are very patient especially with those who aren't familiar with Nigerian cuisine. They'll readily tell you if they believe you won't like something, or if it may be too hot for your taste buds. I've never had to ask for refills because they're pretty much always right there when the cup is getting empty haha. Overall I'd definitely recommend Dynamic to anyone who's a fan of Nigerian cuisine. Prices are great for the amoubt lf food that they gice you, and the service is great!!

I love the red stew with fish and Fufu so much that I came here everyday for a week in a row. I just couldn't get enough of that delicious taste in my mouth. The food is very fresh and clean. No preservatives , just real food

It's a long distance…read morefrom home but it was a mild weather day in December so we decided to make the drive on 12/9/24. We ring the bell and a young boy let us in and we sat down. It was awhile before someone came to tend to us but as my husband was explaining to me, in the African culture, you go to them to tell them what you want, not the other way around. They were in the back busy cooking and preparing, there is a open window where you can order. We got to meet the owner who the restaurant is named after, Anayo. He was awesome! I wanted to order the fried rice or the coconut rice but those are large orders for several people which are only for call in but they don't indicate that on the menu. I got to order the last meat pie they had and OMG, I'm still dreaming about how good it was! I ordered the jollof rice and told them mild spice but it was still a bit too hot for me but in Nigeria, that is how they spice their food, LOL. It comes with goat meat and fish. I loved the fish as it was flavorful, crispy and delicious! I will make sure to order that fish again. Hubby got the Nkwobi made with cow feet, scotch bonnet pepper, onion, palm oil Spinach and seasonings. It was so hot but he enjoyed every bit of it. Anayo told us that they have only been open for 1 year. I hope they continue and thrive. I got to taste a strawberry yogurt drink that they had in the frig that was in a 1 liter container. I really enjoyed that also. You get the bill after you pay - they told us our total for us to pay. Not used to that but they aren't the first business that I've experience to do that. Area was very quiet that evening. Thank you Nayo's - see you soon!

Went with a group of friend tonight to celebrate making it through another work week. I was pleasantly surprised at the decor. Nice spot...sheik, casually elegant, and classy. Located right across the Green Mill in uptown Demera is in a pretty awesome location. Being a big appetizer guy I went with the Sambussa Sampler to get a taste of all of their varieties. Absolutely delicious! I actually could've just been satisfied with a couple more samplers. Accompanied by a tamarind-like sauce and presented very elegantly. If you love samosas you definitely have to try sambussas! I'm making it a point to get those again. For my main I went with a Tilapia filet dish. So typically I am not a big I fan of Injara but the Injara here was convinced me otherwise. O and btw they also have a GF Injara as well as other GF options. I didn't even expect to but I just couldn't stop eating. I put a killin on everything I ordered. So much I didn't even have room for dessert. And the very attentive and friendly service just made the meal that much better. Glad I discovered a new gem.
