When we arrived at 11AM there was plenty of open seating and only one other person placing an order. But by the time we were leaving tho, the place was PACKED! Every table both inside and outside was occupied. I would have never imagined Board & Brew was THIS popular! Ordering was quick and easy and our orders came up pretty quickly. Both the cashier and person who bought us our food were friendly and efficient. My friend and I both ordered the Beef Dip sandwich. Somehow I've managed to go through life with never having tried horseradish, so I requested that it came on the side. Okay, well, I was NOT expecting the heat to go right up to my nose ~ phew!! Even so, it went really well with the beef dip. The roll itself was crunch yet fluffy in all the right places. As is, I would have preferred it to have more beef, but as a whole it was still pretty tasty. Perhaps next time I'll see about getting extra meat. So now I know why they've been around forever. The vibe is easy going, the service is on point, and the food is very good.

The team rushed to prepare everything so I could pick it up and make it back to the retreat in time. They absolutely saved the day. The food was phenomenal, as always, but the service truly earned this review. Jordan and the team didn't cause the problem, yet they went above and beyond to help solve it. Everyone enjoyed lunch, and what could have been a major issue became a success. I'll continue coming back for my own meals, and Mendocino Farms Brea will be at the top of my list for future events. I recently had the pleasure of visiting this mom and pop sandwich shop that I can't recommend enough. This place has a fantastic selection of classic and newer style sandwiches that are sure to please any palate. But what really stood out to me was the amazing service and hospitality of the workers. From the moment I walked in the door, I was greeted with warm smiles and friendly conversation. The workers here are truly the heart and soul of this establishment, and they make you feel like family from the moment you step inside. And don't even get me started on the sandwiches. I had the pleasure of trying the Pounder, and it was everything I could have hoped for and more. The sandwich was packed with thick, juicy cuts of meat and bursting with flavor. I was truly blown away by the quality of the ingredients and the care that went into each and every sandwich. Overall, I can't recommend this sandwich shop enough. The combination of great food and outstanding service is a rare find, and this place has both in spades. Best sandwiches in the WORLD! The employees are as great as can be, always welcoming you with a warm smile and the customer service is STELLAR. I don't go anywhere else for my sandwich needs, I'll even go out of my way to come here. Shout out to DEMETRA for making it an amazing experience every time and adding that secret ingredient to every sandwich (hint: It's love) I recommend this place to everybody I know, and don't even get me started on how great their shakes are! I prefer them extra thick and no place does it better than they do. Now onto my personal favorite, their slush! I can guarantee you that the ice they use in their slush drinks taste better than any other you've had before. This is the 3rd attempt to try to buy subs from them, their customer service has completely gone down hill, they are understaffed and the employees are rude because of it .. I called in my order they said it was going to take 15 minutes to make, I got there at the 15 minute mark , waited another 15 minutes .. still no order when I asked how long it would be for my sandwiches to be ready he said I would have to wait 15 minutes , two other people came in after me and they got their sandwiches done first .. and the guy was too busy making slushes for teenage girls to make the sandwiches .. the last time I went I had the same treatment .. I gave them grace because that day they were very busy.. but this time there was only 3 people in the store.. the way the prioritize orders should be first come first serve but it isn't .. they need help with operations read more

We couldn't be happier with our experience! DW's went above and beyond to help make our son's graduation celebration extra special. What truly touched us was finding a handwritten note included with the sandwich tray we ordered congratulating our son on his graduation. That level of care and attention to detail is incredibly rare and meant so much to our family. The sandwiches were an absolute hit! The bread was incredibly soft, fresh, and delicious. We received so many compliments throughout the evening. Exceptional customer service, amazing food, and genuine care for their customers. I have been to DW Subs multiple times, and unfortunately, it has consistently been disappointing. Each visit of my three visits has consisted of undercooked or spoiled food, poor service, and an annoying atmosphere. One recurring issue is the presence of an older blonde lady who appears to be a staff member. She has consistently displayed rudeness and seemed annoyed by customers, including myself. The owner should definitely reconsider her employment. Additionally, the restaurant is often frequented by high schoolers that are loud and disrespectful, making the atmosphere even more unpleasant for other patrons. Considering the subpar food, poor service, and disruptive atmosphere, I strongly suggest people eat elsewhere. read more

Walked in and walked right out! Every single person inside that tiny shop was not wearing a mask. The three employees working behind the counter noticed we felt uncomfortable and mocked us by waving by to us and saying "byyyyeeee" in a sarcastic tone. This situation is not political, it's public safety. So sad that people can't wear a simple mask to ensure the safety of others. It's so selfish and really not a big deal at all to wear it. I like supporting small businesses but I also like supporting people who care about our community and DW's are proving that they don't give a sh$t about others well being. read more

If all you've ever had is Subway or Togo's, I pity you. Was visiting with the family over the holidays and took my wife and 3 year old son here and explained how this little sandwich shop was THE place to eat when you went to EHS. They loved it and the place has not changed at all, which I was very pleased to see. These mom n' pop operations always tend to have the best food. It's been almost 15 years since I graduated hs, so it was nice to take a walk down memory lane with my own family. They still do sandwiches right and I hope they continue to do so for many years to come! read more

FYI this business is in support of recalling Newsom. Those behind recall are those who support Trump and who do not seem to care for safety of everyone during this pandemic. For them it is about profit over people. If they support recall perhaps they are also not following protocal to be safe which is putting others in danger. This place isn't even on par with Subway, although that is a pretty close comparison. Considering how readily available coupons are for Subway, I likely would have spent close to half of the $50 that I spent here at lunch for three people. I entered the restaurant at noon on a Monday and there was one person waiting for their order. When I figured out what I wanted, I went to the counter and, even though there was no one behind me, The cashier seemed frantically hurried. As if speed talking, he asked if I wanted everything on my Italian sandwich and what kind of bread, to which I replied yes and that I would like it on a white hoagie roll. He quickly asked me what the second sandwich would be, to which I replied, " I we'll have the lunch special number two." That special was tuna, but he said ham and cheese. Then the phone rang and he held his finger up while he answered the phone and took that person's order. When he came back to me after hanging up the phone, continued with ham and cheese and I had to correct him with tuna. At this point, there was one person behind me in line and I'm sure there was some kind of lunch rush coming soon, but I still couldn't understand why he was so frantic with my order. I rushed along with him to my final sandwich, meatball and made two of them, a meal with chips and a drink and ordered a side of macaroni salad. The place itself is large, but the ambiance is that of a high school cafeteria. My order was ready pretty quickly, but when I looked down at the order, I realized that he had not asked me if I wanted everything on my second and third sandwiches, nor had he asked what kind of bread I want it. As it turned out, I would have much preferred my tuna sandwich to be on squaw then on a regular hoagie roll, but oh well. When I cracked, open the macaroni salad and tasted it while I was driving, was immediately off. In some way. There was a tingling sensation in my mouth, almost as if it had gone bad, and the flavor was just wrong, almost as if they had to use something like miracle whip instead of mayonnaise? Anyway, I got home and sat down with my wife and daughter to have lunch. My wife tasted the macaroni salad and immediately to have the same reaction that I did. The sandwiches were fine and we finished them, but they were not exciting in the least. I don't know who is doing the ratings on Yelp for this restaurant, but I feel like I was duped into thinking I was trying a really exceptional sandwich shop, but it turned out to be mediocre (maybe even less so.)

The guy working Thursday morning was insanely socially awkward, but got the job done and was friendly about it. The woman working the kitchen made some decent bacon breakfast burritos for us.. What is unfortunate is the slightly heavy pricing, and the uninviting atmosphere. On the first note, I feel the prices are bit steep considering how basic the food is. I get service and demand though, so I justify their moves as I type this.. Second note, the place is ALWAYS so warm and muggy inside. I hate a heavy electricity bill at home for using AC all the same - but in moderation, it could change the customer drive and satisfaction. I can see more people eating here AND dining in, which would easily boost sales. They just need to run some AC.

I have ordered the house burrito and they did not put bacon or sausage only ham inside. Be careful when you order in the drive-thru. The menu prices say $13 for example for a plate but it is not accurate. It is actually $2-3 more and is false advertising. When the lady tells you the price it's so much higher even with the tax I always have other peoples food in my food mixed. Example: tomato slices, ends of sausage or bell pepper, and a hair The drinks have been watered down for over a year. The syrup needs to be changed and less ice. Also no carbonation. When you get the receipt of overpaying you can't even see a breakdown of what you ordered, just a big grand total This does not seem legal at all. Incorrect menu prices, overcharging, then not giving you a breakdown just a higher total. Seems really shady to me and the food is honestly plain bland. I'll never return here sadly. I'll have to go somewhere else in the area where they show you the charges and are on top of things. Please do better

It's kind of like a skillet, except you have full control of how much of each items goes into it. Normally I don't like a ton of gravy in this ritual, but something about the gravy and sausage at Paul's Country Kitchen made this Grand Finale especially delicious. I mean--the Char's Country Plate was good in itself. I've had something similar at the nearby Mr. D's with its two sausage patties on a biscuit covered in gravy along with eggs and hash browns. I think the version at Paul's was a bit better. Every bite was a delight. But I think the best bites were reserved when I got that bit a sausage and gravy into the mix with the hash browns and perfectly cooked eggs. Grand Finales are usually a joy, but this one was especially joyous. Also, noticeable was the great service here. I found the servers personable and discerning. They managed to give out good recommendations, answer any questions about the offerings, and still hold good conversation. That's rare at any food joint you go to. Not only that, they held down the fort when it came to refills, getting my order out quickly, and dropping the bill off when it came time. The personal touch here is impeccable. Lastly, the ambience is great here. The space is kind of limited, but they had plenty of booths and tables, 2-tops and 4-tops, and counter space. Everything was decorated brightly without seeming gaudy, and it gave off a welcoming feeling that is traditional with all local diners. I wouldn't mind eating in a place like this regularly. In conclusion, I think I found a new place to have breakfast. Not only that, I think I found a new place to recommend to others when I want to point out what makes a good diner/coffee shop.
