Boiled crawfish SPICY
Stacy E.

The crawfish were big and tasty! The service is always friendly and fast! Linda runs this place perfectly! They serve boiled crawfish for LUNCH on Fridays which is rare since most other places serve after 4pm The place is clean & just a good overall local restaurant! Yes, I recommend this place!

Best meatball stew anywhere.

When you want to go to a real cajun restaurant it's hard to beat Dwight's and it's right in the middle of Lafayette. It's by far my favorite place to go for lunch. I almost always get the meatball stew. If you haven't been, please do yourself a favor.

It's The most wonderful Time of the Year! Crawfish Season!!! @dwightslafayette Pictured you see the "Raging Cajun" oysters. Hands down some of the best oysters I have ever had. It kinda had a pizza flavor to it with the cheese, bacon and jalapeno topping. Next the "Zydeco Ravioli" of the "Uncle Mark Special" which was 2lbs of crawfish and shrimp.

Crawfish Etouffee
Angie T.

Crawfish etouffee is a dish I rarely order in restaurants since I have a family recipe that's hard to beat. Don't believe me? Ask anyone who has ever tried mine. This changed on a recent visit to Dwight's. I was prepared to order something else but just looking at their etouffee, I knew I had to try it. I'm so glad I did. First, the portion is huge (see photo) AND it comes with two sides. I don't know exactly how they are making their etouffee here but it is just amazing. It's seasoned perfectly and full of crawfish. I didn't have to add hot sauce to the dish, and normally I do to spice it up. So happy to have found a place that's not afraid to use spices liberally! As for the sides, I got smothered cabbage which was a little too sweet for my liking and green beans which were cooked down and buttery. They also gave me a jalapeño corn bread biscuit which was delicious. Dwight's is the kind of place that has tables with holes in the middle for easy disposal of crawfish/shrimp/crab shells. Look out crawfish season! I'm coming back for you!

These folks offer the best plate lunch in town. The Sunday barbecue special is dynamic. The crawfish Etouffee is the best in town. Blackberry cobbler, wonderful. The line moves quickly, don't let it deter you.

What's wrong with you people. From NOLA, worst crawfish étouffée ever. Swimming in butter and so spicy you could not taste the crawfish.

Crawfish were very small over priced and poorly seasoned. Also had a sort of mealy texture.

Went there last Friday night for crawfish and it was outstanding. Long wait, but worth it and cheap beer. Will be going back soon.

Great food, good services, very crowded on sundays for their famous plate lunches. Love the food, just too many people!

1 Star - Hostile Staff, Unbelievable Disrespect, and Zero Hospitality…read moreAfter being a loyal customer at Lagneaux's for over a decade, our experience tonight guaranteed it will be our last time ever walking through the door. We specifically chose to come here over Acme Oyster House in Baton Rouge because of how much I've always liked Lagneaux's, but that loyalty was met with absolute disrespect. We were seated by a young hostess with long straight hair in the middle room. After sitting completely ignored for 15 minutes without a single server even acknowledging us (they did, however, keep looking at us like we were in the wrong place), I politely went to the hostess to ask if we could move to an active section. Instead of apologizing or fixing the issue, the hostess puffed up, raised her voice, and completely chewed me out--claiming we had moved ourselves and that was why we weren't waited on. When I stated we hadn't moved, she straight-up accused us of lying to her face. When we decided we weren't going to spend our hard-earned money to be treated like an inconvenience, I went to speak with the cashier at the front--an older woman who offered a hollow "sorry" but made zero effort to get a manager or rectify the situation. As we walked out, the hostess returned to the front to continue her attitude. To treat a returning customer who chose your restaurant over another regional favorite with such hostility and blatant disrespect is unacceptable. Lagneaux's clearly no longer cares about basic service, hospitality, or appreciation for their patrons. Save your money and go somewhere that actually respects you.

Responding to Chelsa K.'s 1* review. As I am someone who was in the restaurant when it happened…read more I just think it's funny how you aren't mentioning y'all came in as 6 people and then wanted accommodations for 30 people during one of the busiest times of the night. Or that they argued with the amazing manager for nearly an hour total after being told they couldn't accommodate that size party. They're also leaving out the part where people from their group marched in and seated themselves, stood over occupied tables waiting for guests to leave, insisting the hosts clean the tables, and made the entire restaurant uncomfortable. This had nothing to do with race and everything to do with behavior. Any group acting like that would've gotten the exact same response. In short, do better. Y'all came in and ruined everyone's dinner because y'all don't know how to plan ahead. Stop blaming people for your mistakes and take accountability.

This may have been part of the reason its wasn't all that busy on a Tuesday lunch. Similar to some other restaurants in Louisiana I've visited, they have a side with a bar, to-go area and high tops, and a more family oriented side of the restaurant with a bunch of low top tables. Fried pork rinds are served with every table. They have daily plate lunches and the one day I came it was chicken fried steak. However, it's not usually a good idea to order CFS outside of Texas in my experience. Therefore, I ended up ordering the catfish and shrimp platter, served grilled instead and added a $5 strawberry margarita. The entree comes with a side salad but they only have seelct dressings and none which I would typically order, so i just settled on honey mustard. Margarita- for only $5 it's not bad and comes with either sugar or salt rim Catfish and shrimp platter - seasoned with a blackened seasoning but it wasn't spicy. The catfish filet was small and tasted like it was previously frozen. The shrimp were also small and didn't taste much better. Not sure I'd return if ever in Lafayette, as I was really looking for a more festive environment and more grilled options.

First Course: We began with the oyster sampler featuring Charbroiled, Bienville, Orleans, and Rockefeller styles. Each had its own unique flavor profile, and together they made a great introduction to the meal. Second Course: A crisp romaine and spring mix salad paired with a crawfish, crab, and corn bisque. The bisque was rich and comforting, perfectly balanced by the freshness of the salad. Main Course Highlights: Almond-crusted paneed chicken finished with roasted red bell pepper aioli. Grilled portabella mushroom stuffed with Gulf blue crab, shrimp, peppers, and spinach, topped with lemon aioli and parmesan. Filet Orleans (which I didn't try since I don't eat beef, but others raved about it). Dessert: The finale was a Cinnamon Roll Bread Pudding drizzled with a decadent sauce -- warm, sweet, and absolutely delicious. Overall, the combination of excellent service, creative dishes, and indulgent dessert made this Yelp Event a true standout.

She was very friendly but forgot that I ordered a crab cake. I let her know and she was like, do you still want it. Kinda awkward , so I said no. I'm sure it was just an off day for her. I will still go back and have oysters. Food is really great!
