They replaced our aged-out pool surface from plaster to micro pebble which included treating the concrete and adding a curative to the pebble mix. They installed hand-set iridescent step markers and new directionals, an aerator fitting, safety drain covers, a hand rail and new tile at the water line. It was quite the project and they did it within the projected timeline. Jessica pleasantly took our original call, setting the tone at the beginning and arranged sales rep Brandon to come to the house. He truly embodies the Business Development Ninja title on his business card. He impressed us with his demeaner, transparency and thoroughness at our initial meeting and in their showroom/design center where we chose our colors from plenty of options for the new surface, tiles, handrail and step markers. Project Manager Shawn updated us nearly daily on what to expect and when. As busy as he was, he promptly answered our questions and concerns in detail with good humor and respect and kept everything on schedule which transpired as he described. Massive respect to Zach & Richard & Juan and everyone in the chip-out, tile & surface install crews who each worked diligently throughout the unseasonably hot days. Afterwards, Chad gave a helpful orientation on caring for our pool and its new surface and surprised us with some thoughtful gifts. When it's time to tackle the decking or replacing equipment, we'll be calling Barefoot. We've already called for monthly pool service and look forward to meeting our pool tech Britney who will no doubt impress us as well. Great management and great crew…read more Had a pool pump stop working, and my normal pool guy immediately blamed a failed motor in the pump, despite it only being 2 years old and gave me a large quote to replace. I called Pelican for a second opinion and rather than just push new hardware, they did their due diligence to pinpoint the problem.They figured out that not enough power was being supplied to the pool panel and it ended being a bad breaker that was supplying too little voltage for the pump to operate. Update 2026: After 3 years I've terminated service with Tartan Pools. This last half year has been…read morenothing but problems for us. Vacuum busted, no big deal I get it things break but it took the tech 3 weeks to notice the vacuum wasn't working. It wasn't until I noticed a bunch of debris on the pool floor and then I had to notify THEM to come fix it. They recommended one other than the Pool Vergneugen and that thing just never worked, then replaced with a Vergneugen and it worked right away. Now just recently they cleaned the filter and recommended to replace it. Not only did they charge for the cleaning, but the charge to replace the four filters was over $630. The filters themselves are $200-300 depending on if you want to get them online or through Shasta Pools. Would've gave em the $100 most people want to install new filters, but I'm sure as hell not paying $750+ between a cleaning of filters that should've been replaced and then paying on top of that to get them replaced. Our pool is a cartridge system, so literally all they have to do is empty the skimmer baskets, balance chemicals, and ensure the vacuum is working properly. I don't have the extra maintenance of a sand filter and the system is hooked up to automation. We've been having an issue with the system running with air in it for about a month now. Paid for a flapper repair and they said everything was all fixed. Spoiler alert: it was not. They just don't care to validate that the system is working properly after a repair is done as long as they get paid. Today the main pump is running bone dry so I had to shut it down. I love Dominic as a person. I still to this day would trust him if HE did the repairs, but he doesn't do it anymore......and his office staff are clearly lacking on holding techs to satisfactory repairs. Very sad I liked this company.

I had Aqua Harmony Drain and Acid Wash my pool today (April 10, 2026). We have a PebbleTec finish…read morewith blue and green pebbles. After a few years, the pebble colors tend to fade out due to hard water deposits. After the Acid Wash I could see the pebbles looking colorful and shiny again. Aqua Harmony was great from the initial call to schedule, and workmen were right on time (for draining yesterday) and the acid cleaning today. The technician that did the cleaning today was Zack. He is a very polite individual and consciences about his work. He made sure I was happy with everything before he packed up his equipment. Then I called Joe in the office to inquire about how I am supposed to pay. Joe was very helpful during the initial call to get the work scheduled. And he was very helpful today, and asked me more than a couple of times if I was happy with all of the work. They truly want to do a good job and want to make sure the customers are happy. The next time I need to acid wash, or need any equipment repairs, I won't hesitate to call them for help. I am very happy with their work and with the quality of their employees. And I would gladly recommend them to any family and friends that need any work done on their pool.

The tech Richard was very patient as he explained to me. What needed to be repaired and got it all done the same day as the initial visit which worked out because he didn't have to order parts. He came prepared. He took time to also explain a few other things to help my pull vacuum, run more efficiently and made some suggestions. Very pleased with this company.
