I highly recommend Bea (pronounced "Bee" short for Abbey) for cut, color, product knowledge and extensions!! I have never been completely happy with my color and style until I started going to Bea. Also, I was very hesitant to get extensions because my hair is thick, curly and on the frizzy side. Bea made my extensions look 100% natural and made my hair look fuller and healthier. Words cannot express how happy I am with my hair! Finding a hairstylist, at least to me, is a highly personal task. It can take time to build trust and rapport with someone, feel like they know the way that you like your hair, etc. When I moved to the Grapevine area approximately two years ago, I was faced with the task of needing to find a new salon. I am so thankful to have found DV8! Everyone at the salon is SO friendly and I love that they are team oriented and not offended if you see a different stylist within the same salon. I have seen Joy, Abbey, and Monica, who have all been wonderful, both to talk with and in the way that they cut and styled my hair. All three asked what I wanted done, asked additional questions to ensure that they were cutting and styling the way that I wanted it, and made suggestions based upon their experience. What everyone says about this salon is basically true. It is a beautiful place and the people are very nice, the stylists are extremely talented. Yes, if you are a NEW customer they will get you in right away and treat you like a queen. The trouble is their professionalism is very lacking. I am an older woman and I know times have changed. I found a girl that I absolutely loved the way she did my hair. I loved the products to the point I bought them for home use even though for me they are pretty expensive. I only go to have my hair done about once a month. The 1st time I visited the salon was wonderful and I set my next appointment. Something came up and I had to go out of town and called to see if I could get a shampoo and blow out and was told they had no openings. Ok, it was last minute. I went to my 2nd appt. again extremely satisfied with the work. But because the stylist is so busy, I booked out for the rest of the year. Well as luck would have it, an emergency came up and I had to cancel my appt. I did this early enough the slot could be filled, it was not last minute. I asked for another time or even another stylist. Now take into consideration I had discussed with my stylist that sometimes I would need the extra times and she was going to put me with another one of the stylists so I would be covered in an emergency situation. Now, I called twice requesting a call back from my stylist and never got one, the 3rd time I called I finally told the young lady what the issue was and she was very polite and was going to do her best to get me in and would call me today, well here it is 2pm and nothing. So I called explained what the deal is and was put on hold and told the ONLY time I could get in was mid morning one day next week. Well again, one of the other reasons I chose and fell head over heels with this salon is because of their hours. I work during the week and absolutely cannot do anything until after 5 pm plus they are less than 5 minutes away. Now I am old school and I believe MY stylist should have given me a call back and I believe for the prices they charge something could have been done. Customer service if you want it isn't going to happen here. If you want to be lied to and given the run around then this is the pace for you!! I will not divulge names because that is mean and vindictive but once you go that will be obvious. Now, my last stylist I used for about 7 years and I truly thought I did my homework this time but apparently I didn't. Now I have to go find another stylist somewhere else. read more

Had an AMAZING experience! Called with late notice And they got me in in 15min. Offered me a beer and told me that my stylist would be with me soon. Brittany was sooo awesome!! I am one of "those" girls who was traumatized when I was younger with some horrible fantastic sams experience, so therefor kind of picky. She just went with it and even made jokes! Love that I have a new, awesome place to get my hair done! And with the 20 dollars off for the first visit made it even better! Thanks Britney you rock!! read more

Brittany was amazing!! Recently moved and was looking for a new stylist and just wanted a clean trim for my medium length hair. Brittany was super sweet and gave me a great haircut and then even showed me how to curl my hair when I was telling her about a wedding I have coming up and that I didn't know how to use a curling iron. She created perfect waves and made it look so easy for me to try. Definitely will be going back to see her. The salon itself is really nice and fun hip vibe. read more

I really liked the atmosphere here. I had Abbey and she really listened to what I wanted. Usually it takes over a hour to get my hair cut but it took less than a hour and I got everything I wanted. I don't really like paying so much for a haircut but I was happy with what I got. I will be returning! read more

Love, Love, love me some Dv8!!! How much you ask?? Enough to drive to Grapevine from Abilene about every 5-6 weeks for over 11 years to let Lisa do her magic on my hair. She's awesome-always well worth the trip in every way from my hair to just relaxing in the friendliest, cleanest, eclectic/quirky, environment with the best music!! I called DV8 after getting my hair cut out of town, and needing it to be "adjusted" just a tiny bit. They were super nice on the phone and got me in that same day within a few hours with Monica. I explained that I didn't need a wash, or a blow out, because I had just done that, and I really only needed a few tiny snips on the left side because it was a little heavier than the right. (The right side I was happy with) and that it just needed a tiny bit of blending in the back. I have been growing my hair out forever and a day it seems like, and I told her that. (Which is what I told the lady from the first salon as well, which is why I think I got the lopsided cut in the first place, she was afraid to cut too much) Anyhow, I told her that if she didn't see what I was seeing, to not be afraid to tell me, so she wasn't just cutting to be cutting. She said she saw it, but that she also saw a problem on the right side. I told her I was happy with the right side, but she said she would just touch it a tiny bit. So I let her. She kept missing the spot that I was unhappy with altogether, even though I kept trying to show her. She was really sweet, and really was trying, but I walked out with the right side way shorter than it was to begin with, and all of my ends were completely thinned out with a razor. Plus the spot that I was unhappy with to begin with is still there. I didn't tell her I was unhappy while I was there, because she really was a nice girl, and I wanted to give her a chance, but I also couldn't let her continue to keep trying to fix it. I was only in her chair maybe 10 minutes, including consultation, and they still charged me $40. I feel bad for her, and for my head, which looks worse now than it did when I went in and is going to be really difficult to grow out since it is so choppy. :( read more
