If you are looking for a new salon, seriously look no further- this place is AMAZING! I recently moved to Texas after my fiancé was relocated by his company. I had been going to the same hairdresser for over 6 years- I was super nervous about trying to find someone new. I feel super lucky to have struck hair salon gold on my first attempt out here! First off, it was incredibly easy to make an appointment. The salon receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Secondly, I was greeted warmly by two people upon walking in and given a delicious cup of coffee. The salon was buzzing was great energy and charming/trendy decor. My hair care professional, Minley, could not have been better! She greeted me right away and had such a fun, confident and bubbly attitude that any fear I had about trying a new place disappeared. She took the time to consult with me before beginning, taking into account my budget, lifestyle, and color preference. Also, she worked efficiently, and had me out the door within two hours, which I LOVED- I do not like sitting ;) The real cherry on top was that my blonde highlights ARE THE BEST THEY HAVE LOOKED IN OVER 6 YEARS. I could not believe what an amazing, precise, wonderful result she achieved. Typically I believe a new stylist needs a few visits to really know your hair and how it reacts- she nailed it perfectly on my first visit. I'm still in awe. We had a great conversation which made the appointment fly by, she made sure I knew her product recommendations, and had me book my next appointment. DV8 Rocks! From my hair to the people who we have been blessed to photograph who have used DV8 for their styling - they are a delight. We have had the pleasure to work with everyone in their delicious new salon and everyone has exceeded not only my but my client's expectations. On a recent particular bad day for me, Lisa and everyone at DV8 made the day turn from sour to sweet - and when I thanked her on my next visit, she said that is what they are there for. Regarding the previous review, even though I had no dealings with the stylist she mentioned, I know that he has now left DV8 to pursue his own business where he probably continues to chat up a storm. Try DV8 out, it is worth the investment or splurge or whatever you are accustomed to paying at other equivalent beautiful salons where you might be treated like another head they cut that day. Really loved getting my hair done here. I love the atmosphere. The staff is so friendly and nice. I'm just unsure of how my bill continues to get higher and higher each time I come. With tip, last time I spent $190 for a trim, root touch up and blow dry. It's just too expensive for my liking. I have also noticed that their dye washes out quickly. I only wash my hair about twice a week with the best shampoos to prevent this exact thing but within 2 weeks (4 washes), my white roots are already sparkling. read more

It was a nice salon and honestly I felt bad complaining -- as my stylist was a very nice person. I have been getting my hair done for a few years now, but after a recent move I was looking for a new salon. Gender neutrality is very important to me. I emailed the salon to see who they would recommend and Lisa, the owner said they cannot recommend a blond specialist. How does a salon like this not know how to do blonde on a dark blonde base? A shame, cute salon but not worth the effort if you do not know someone who goes here. read more

I recently moved back to Dallas after spending several years in Salt Lake City. I had a hair girl whom I regularly saw and loved. Since I have moved back I've been looking for someone I can go to regularly. The main thing for me to consider is price and reputation. I found this place based off of google and it has mainly really good reviews. So I booked an appointment for a full highlight with the cost starting at $155. Upon arriving I loved the salon atmosphere. It is probably the cutest decorated salon I have ever seen. Everyone seemed very friendly and attentive. I sat down with the person who was doing my hair and told her what I wanted. She explained to me she would highlight as much hair as possible while also doing some balayage technique through out. Almost three hours later my hair looks amazing and just like I wanted it too. Very pleased with the results. The three stars happen when I walk to the counter and I am told the total for the day is $300!!!! I almost fainted. I have never ever paid anywhere close to $300 usually I expect it to be $150-200 because my hair is so thick and they always have to use extra product. Understandable there. I was told that because she used a balayage technique it costs a lot more. The last person I saw regularly did not charge me for the use of a different technique only more color used and for the toner. The manager explained since they have "special" training in this technique they can charge a lot more. They also charged me for my blow dry which I think is odd. Usually that is a standard thing. Why would you want someone to leave with wet hair? I'm a therapist I spend thousands of dollars to learn new techniques to be able to provide better services to my clients and I don't think it's right to upcharge so much for a different technique. Especially after reading that a balayage takes less time than a full highlight. So I love my hair so much the stylist did an amazing job the salon was amazing just the prices are not affordable and do not make sense to me which is why I gave this place a 3 star. So if you have money growing on trees and no budget to keep in mind you will love this place. read more

You MUST go see "Bea." I visited her for the first time 5/25/18 and she started by looking at my pictures and asking me about my style. She politely told me what would work on my hair from the pictures so I would get something that was inspired from my pics but worked best for me. Her color choice and placement was fantastic. It looked rich and vibrant but super natural. She was fun and easy to talk to and the time flew by. The cut was just what I asked for and she checked in with me as we went along to learn what I liked and wanted. The cut and curl finishing touches complimented my color well. Simply amazing experience at this salon! From the atmosphere of the decor, laid back chic, to the friendly front desk staff this place is on point. The best part for me was my stylist, Halen, as in Van Halen. She listened to me about what I wanted (I'm pretty bossy) and asked questions about what I wanted to do with my hair today and long term. These questions suited me perfectly as I am in the market for a new stylist. Well, I was. I am looking no longer! Halen went over what she was going to do in detail so I knew up front what I would be paying for, no surprises. I hate it when stylists add in other treatments without asking first and then all of a sudden you're left with a $300 bill...She also dry cut my hair which turned out great because she was able to address more of some of the damage I had on the top layer of my hair. I have hard to handle blonde hair - probably because it's not naturally blond...but the end result came out shiny and healthy and the color was exactly as I wanted it. I guess that's what happens when you are truly heard when you are asking for what you want...This is an Aveda salon but the fantastic product is just a bonus. Her friendly disposition and suggestions made me feel at ease as I like to keep my hair long and was hesitant. She put long layers in my hair that made it fuller while still keeping my desired length. She suggested products that I could use to reduce the damage to my hair when styling, and educated me on how to keep my hair healthy. I recently moved to the Dallas/Fort Worth area and desperately needed to get my haircut. Aveda products are AMAZING and that is what initially inspired me to try out Dv8 the Salon. I am so glad I did! When I first walked in, I was greeted by the front desk and asked if I wanted something to drink. The entire salon has a really fun, funky design and has a very comfortable, uplifting energy. The stylist I was paired up with was Bea, and she was awesome! She answered every question I had regarding my hair and the TLC it desperately needed. She gave the exact haircut I was looking for, and discussed future color ideas and provided me with a price quote. She helped me figure out what products I needed for home care and explained why they would be beneficial. I am pretty dumb when it comes to hair care so that was extremely helpful! I ended up spending about $95 for a shampoo, cut, blow dry and style, product for home care, Scalp therapy, and a 20% tip. Usually when you are looking for a stylist in a new area, It may take a few experiences to find someone you want to stick with. It was over processed and had been mistreated by its former stylist :( After asking around A LOT, DV8 was the salon that popped up most. I made an appt with Halen and she not only restored my hair, but has been 100% EVERY APPT with cut and color. I let her use her creativity each time and she's never steered me wrong. I found DV8 after I had gone to my old salon and needed a haircut again the next week! Love the location on Main in Grapevine and the salon is so cute and artfully decorated and has a great happy vibe. It's more expensive than I used to pay, but so worth it. I told them when I scheduled that I wanted someone who is good with short hair and they recommended Kirbi. She is awesome and gives great hair advice. I'm back to getting compliments on my short haircuts. They offer $20 off the first service and I just won a $50 gift card at their Christmas celebration. So happy with my visit with Brittany! We are relocating back up to DFW and I have to find a new salon....which is never fun! But I lucked out! I called Wednesday and was able to get in the next day. Brittany saw me pretty much on time, but while waiting it was nice to just hang out in their waiting area. This is a really nice place. Really pretty and chill. Good vibes. Lots of smiles from the stylists. I'm in the process of growing out a pixie cut - which is super duper freakin' awesome. I'm apparently a self-masochist because I do this to myself WAY TOO OFTEN. Also making it a super exciting experience is that my hair is bleached root to tip. Well, it was, lol. When I walked in with a ball cap on my hair my roots were looking pretty rough. Brittany was super patient and took the time to look at pictures I had found on Pinterest. I decided to stay blonde and just have my roots touched up. I also had a few lowlights put in to spice things up and to add some dimension. Brittany trimmed up my ends as well as the back (the mullet look is not okay) but I didn't feel like much length had been removed. Brittany also showed me how to create loose curls with a curling iron, which looked great! I haven't ever been able to hold a curl when I've tried to curl my hair. I successfully recreated the look the next day after buying a new curling iron. Yay! I'm so happy with my hair and my experience at DV8. Brittany was so friendly and fun to talk to. I feel like I lucked out finding this salon. We won't be living in Grapevine, but it is worth the 20-30 minute drive for me to go somewhere I'm comfortable and happy with. And this salon is ridiculous as they charge the normal prices of Aveda salon but for drying your hair, you have to pay extra 30$. I left with wet soaking hair. I first started going to this salon for two reasons: I live within walking distance and I needed a change from my current stylist. I randomly made an appointment with Halen because she had an opening when I needed it. I was instantly impressed with her. She listens to me and my lame attempt to describe what I want and she seems to be able to read my mind. I've never been disappointed with anything she's done. Everyone in there is very nice and professional and I always leave happy. I may be moving out of town (3-4 hours away) in the next few months and I fully intend on making special trips back just to have her do my hair. BEWARE! This was by far the worst salon experience of my life. Not only did I receive a balayage from hell, the customer service from the owner Candice down to the stylist Maci was absolutely TERRIBLE!!! I saw Maci for a bright blonde balayage. After two attempts in the same appointment, the photos is the end product. THE WORST COLOR I HAVE EVER HAD! She literally just slapped on color and did not give a SH*T what she was doing to my hair. I had left a message for the owner to call me to have to this fixed the next day. The salon coordinator Nicole called me first thing the next morning, expressing her willingness to have me come in as soon as possible to have it fixed. After scheduling an appointment with another stylist, Nicole called me back saying that she was just going to offer a refund and suggest I go somewhere else to have it fixed. REALLY??? After talking with Maci, she decided there was nothing more they could do. Maci stated that I just wasn't ever going to be satisfied. I would be satisfied if she had proper technique and knew how to color like a professional. My husband then called the owner, and she said Maci did excellent work, and she stands by her stylist. The owner Candice asked if I would send her photos of my hair, and I never even received a response back. This salon is a complete joke; they may want to focus more on the quality of their stylists rather than all their fancy décor. FOR ANYONE LOOKING TO GO TO THIS SALON BEWARE! Not only the staff was friendly and professional, everybody in the salon was extra nice and helped out with my kids so i can get my hair done by Abbey who did an amazing job fixing my hair that was nasty. Im delighted with this salon experience and would definitely recommend it to anyone. Not only the people are understanding and nice enough too help you out with small children, but you also experience a professional and pleasant atmosphere. Really liked the decor of the place!!
