Duzan is a bedrock of the Astoria community. It has kept multiple generations of all ages alive with its accessible food of the people. There are many many hummus, shwarma, pita joints in the city. But none are Duzan. You can't go wrong with anything here. From the meat to salads to the harissa and garlic spread. Even if you like another shop for an element, coup de grace is the pita. Somehow both chewy and pillow-y soft. Definitely a contender for best in the city. read more

Always amazing tasty food here ! Chicken gyro bowl is my GO TO. Easy ordering via Yelp.

Came here after seeing it promoted by a foodie Instagram account. During these COVID times, the store is converted into a walk-up window where you order your food. We got a bowl with chicken shawarma which took around 10 minutes to make. The bowl was actually pretty regular to both my friend and me. Maybe my expectations were too high based on the features I saw via Instagram. However, this is a good place to go if you want some reallllly fresh-tasting middle eastern food. The 'Duzan Sauce' reminded me of a Big Mac sauce and I wasn't too impressed. read more

This Shawirma beef and lamb really brought back memories from Jordan. It was absolutely amazing. I couldn't get enough. The portions were huge and the flavors were mouth watering. I got pickles and tahine in mine and I do not regret it. The beef was very tender and was fresh. The lamb tasted great as well. All in all it's a combo you do not want to miss out on if you're in the area. The fries they use aren't the best and in fact didn't taste that good either but overall I would come here any time of the day if I am in the area again. read more

Came here and got the chicken shawarma bowl. It was incredible! Absolutely loved the variety and sauce options! Definitely recommend!

This is one of my favorite spots to order lunch from. I usually get either the grilled chicken kabab bowl or chicken kabab pita. The chicken is so flavorful and juicy. The rice and the pita are fluffy and delightful. Great portions and incredible food! Perfect meal to satisfy my dream cravings! read more

Overrated place, bland chicken, no flavor and over cooked, most basic food like Humus was not even good, Humus had no flavor tasted like the processed humus you get from grocery stores. Adding tons of oil don't make it any better and oil was not a good Olive oil either. You should try Sufia Grill or Anatolia Humus and you will forget about this badly made food. read more

Now I'm no expert on Mediterranean cuisine but this place is great. Great service and friendly. I'm sure a lot of the locals were annoyed with us beginners trying to order. The cashier was very accommodating and treated us like anyone else. A friend who lives in the area recommended this place and afterwards just a few doors down is amazing baklava. You should stop here at least once. read more

This place has some amazing items and some not so great one. The falafel on pita is to die for, the falafel is perfectly made, not too soft but also not fry, perfect consistency and tastes amazing, I can eat it forever. The chicken kabab on pita also tastes pretty good but they added too much of the garlic spread on my pita which threw the taste off and also made my stomach hurt an hour after eating. The Chicken Schnitzel Bowl was boring. The chicken was dry, the French fries were soggy and I asked for the sauces on the side bc It was to go and they gave me one of each which was only halfway filled so there wasn't enough sauce for the bowl-- if that's the amount they actually put in it then it's way too fry. The restaurant itself has no AC and looks to be under construction plus they are super busy so manage your expectations when you come, we waited 20mins for our food and it was super hot in there but all in all, we knew what we were in for bc they told us how long it would be from the start. I have to come back and try more items to see if their rating improves. read more

Very good chicken shawarma and kofta kebabs. The plates are huge. Indoor seating has finally reopened so can sit inside and eat now. Great spot for fresh and tasty middle eastern food! read more

This was my first time dining in (out?) at a restaurant since quarantine started. I was in the neighborhood with my friends who were craving Mediterranean, and this was what they suggested. So I ordered the Shawarma Mix Bowl option (that I now learned is only available after 6 pm), which allows you to pick your protein, two sides, and unlimited sauces). They have a menu available and it is laid out in chipotle style, so it's easy to follow. These bowls are large! I ordered the chicken shawarma and it had the right amount of flavor. Not dry at all especially with the help of some of the spicy sauces I selected. My only complaint is that I wish they didn't mix the fries (a side I selected) into the bowl and rather serve it separately. It eventually became soggy and mush as a result of mixing with the more moist ingredients. However, this could have been avoided if I asked them to separate the order. Service was quick and although the food is prepared quickly, it's definitely not fast food quality. There was an empty table outside the restaurant reserved for customers. I ordered for the three of my friends and the total came out to be $45 (price includes drinks too), which is not bad given the quality is really good and the portions are huuuge. My recommendation would be to probably get take out if you are still uneasy with the lack of social distancing taking place in Astoria. It was definitely crowded for a Thursday night and there was a big line for orders. read more

I've had it before but I've really been in the mood for Shawarma recently and a previous place I went to has gone down in quality. Duzan, however, definitely was an improvement! While the meat was a bit dry and needed the sauce, the flavor was solid. The portions are great though and overall a decent choice for shawarma/falafel! read more

Recently visited Duzan in Astoria and was disappointed by the dryness of the food. I specifically asked for extra sauce when ordering and was willing to pay, but only received a small amount for my $50 order. Places like this the food is not really enjoyable without sauce. Actually, it isn't really edible at all without it. When I called to speak to the the manager, the management's response was unsatisfactory. Just a heads-up for those who might expect more sauce with their food, they're super cheap and most likely give you 2 tiny sauces per large platter. read more

Fluffy pita and big flavors. Ambiance is under construction with only outdoor seating and tables that need a cleaning but food is very good. Super attentive guys. I went to order again and the food preparer checked in on me making sure everything was good! It was just so good I ordered another one to go! Generous portions and make sure to order hand cut fries specifically! They have both regular fries and hand cut. Obviously the hand cut is the way to go and the sauces here are amazing. The hot is very hot beware! read more

Always very good, several steps above all others in the area. I ordered a chicken shawarma and it was delivered nice and warm - they said it would arrive by 6, 40 minutes early, I was munching away. Just ordered delivery from here and I had to jump on Yelp while eating to leave a review because the food is so so good! I got the vegan heaven platter that comes with fried eggplant, baba, hummus, pickled veggies, falafel, and garlic pita. From the top presentation to the flavors, the garlic pita!! I didn't even know garlic pita existed. I think they might've forgotten my garlic sauce but everything tasted so delicious that I didn't even care. The only thing I didn't really touch was the tomato cucumber salad because the tomatoes were a bit on the soggier side. Everything else was 10/10. Highly recommend!! read more

So amazing!!! Absolutely delicious food!!! Best pita sandwich I've ever had! The food is so warm and cozy! Always my go to on a cloudy day! The service is always quick and polite! I would recommend this place to anyone as there are so many options! You won't regret trying Duzans in NYC read more

My go to spot for middle eastern food when in Astoria. It can be very chaotic competing with all the Door Dash and Uber Eats guys but the food more than makes up for the wait and frenzy picking up your food order. We love the shawarma bowls, kebabs and falafel! read more

Really good seamless delivery! You get A LOT of food for the price you pay. The bowls are great, I had the chicken shawarma one and it could easily feed two people. Get the hummus, it's really good too. I also had the falafel side, which comes with nine pieces. They're small, but decent. Is It the best falafel, no, but it certainly hit the spot. Delivery was right on time, though everything got a little messy during the ride over. Whatever, I pour hummus all over my shawarma anyway... read more

Really great seamless experience so far! Ordered takeout since they had a $5 seamless promo and got the: Have It All Meat - Kafta Kabab, Chicken Kabab, Beef and Lamb Shawarma with rice and fries Very filling and had to eat it in 2 sessions. The kebabs and meat are good Astoria quality especially for takeout. Pita bread was terrific. The rice was your standard buttery rice. The Spicy Harisa is actually spicy so beware. Getting the fries the platter was a regret once I realized they had my favorite kind - thicker cut similar to Wendy's. Would order it just as a whole side and get a different platter side. So far I had a good delivery experience - 35 mins on a Saturday night. Definitely want to try more menu items. If you live in the area, consider this a takeout option. read more

Hands down one of the BEST shawarmas I've ever had! I stumbled upon this place on google and since I was in the area I decided to give it a shot. Their service is very fast I just had to wait like five minutes for my food. I ordered a chicken Shawarma platter with salad, hummus, and fries don't forget to get their garlic sauce and another sauce that you may like. The hummus was so tasty. Sometimes hummus has a bitter taste but not this one. The texture and taste were just perfect! Even if you arent in the area you need to make a trip to this place!! Delicious, authentic, cheap, and fulfilling. What more can you ask for!? The servers nice! They help you make your selection with a big smile on their face. Overall a great experience and would definitely go back!! read more

Ridiculously delicious. The hummus is heavenly. So is the chicken. I recommend the wrap or one of the platters. It's insanely busy--be prepared to wait to either order or to receive your food. Local delivery isn't great--they had the wrong address; I ended up having to go out into the street to find the delivery guy (on what seemed to be the coldest night of 2020, YET!) Other than that small SNAFU, this place is BOMB.com for Mediterranean grub. read more

So disappointed with my meal today. Portion sizes shrunk, along with a $5 increase. Couscous was extremely salty and overpowered the rest of the "plate". Additionally, I paid extra for baba ganoush and was not given that. The falafel was good though. Person at register was rude and not cut out for a customer facing position. I was a regular during COVID- things have drastically changed unfortunately. Probably won't return given there are a lot of other options in the neighborhood. read more

Duzan - Middle Eastern Near Me - Queens, New York

DuZan got a much needed and well deserved face lift. I stopped going to this place years ago because I felt like the twin brother that worked/owned the place were always rude and would say comments that crossed the line- however I am on a 21 day vegan fast and needed a delicious option so I went back a couple of days ago. Lucky for me the brothers weren't there! I ordered the falafel platter- let me start off by saying falafel is not my favorite I would never order it otherwise but the one at DuZan can't be beat- it's delicious and fresh- not sure how they do it! The hummus, tahini, rice, and Sheppard's salad are all amazing. Their wraps are great too and the price is VERY reasonable. Their current employees are super friendly, personable, and respectful :) My place of choice for the next couple of weeks! read more

Had lunch here today thanks to a visiting relative who said this was his favorite cuisine. Well, that and because I Yelped local spots who served up this cuisine and because Duzan was not terribly far away and was highly rated, esp. by Yelp Elites. So first thing to take note of is that this is located at a notoriously busy area and street parking is often a dicey proposition. God was smiling on us on this rainy day as we saw a spot right on the block open up just as I was driving up. I knew we were meant to eat here today and the food confirmed it. First impressions upon walking in is that it's an attractive place with high ceilings that make the place look even bigger than the square footage. The second impression is that the place smells incredible and that we would likely walk out of here wreaking of this deliciousness. For lunch, they only had chicken (we were told that beef and lamb would only be served after 6pm) so the 4 of us all ordered a chicken shawarma. I was initially disappointed that we could only have the chicken as I was going to order the "Have It All" platter which would have given me 3 meats of my choosing. However, as soon as I took one big bite of the shawarma, my disappointment was turned into satisfaction. I ordered my shawarma loaded with everything they would normally add in but without adding anything additional. The chicken was tender and full of flavor and everything they added in only enhanced the flavor without masking it. My son got a side of fries and I ordered a side of falafels (9 per order), foul mudammas & pita, and tabouleh for the adults to share. All this plus 2 sodas and 2 bottles of water came out to ONLY $53! I say "only" but in reality this was much more food than we needed...even with us having built up a nice appetite before coming in. We took a lot of the foul mudammas and tabouleh home. Plus, wife and son couldn't even finish off their shawarmas (full disclosure: their appetite is more easily sated than mine). Everything tasted fresh, healthy (all things considered), and made w. quality ingredients. The dining area is sufficiently attractive and clean and young lady at the counter was very polite and friendly. I am most definitely coming back here...but probably not soon enough. Heck, I'll gladly park and walk a few blocks if I have to. It's probably just going to build up my appetite and can help me burn a few delicious calories when I walk back. read more

The food was delicious and the wide range of customization is mouth watering! I bought the chicken Shawrma and it was perfectly cooked with lists of flavor.
