He was able to shape my curls to me, very friendly and easy going not someone who is trying to rush you out. He will walk you through the whole process so you can feel comfortable, gave lots of helpful tips and information about how to take care and maintain my curls. I had my first curly cut with Dustin and loved my experience. My hair has gone from curly to straight to wavy over the course of my life and now back to tighter waves. I started leaning into the curly girl method about 6 months ago and have been working on hair health (after having dyed and using heat for some time) and was apprehensive about jumping into curly cut. Dustin was very punctual in our appointment, the location easy to find, and he opts for a great salon quality line that has products for all tightness and textures of curls (even better it's color coded) - it's what he uses and showed me how to style my hair for both air dry and for difusing. Because I am a bit newer to doing my hair curly, I have text him pictures a few times with asking for help and he has been very kind and given me pointers. My hair is still recovering from damage, and he told me after 3 cuts (like 6-8 months) hair really responds well. He is a very kind man who genuinely likes humans and helping people embrace their natural features and enhancing them to magnify people's individual and unique features. Dustin gave my 13 year old son an excellent cut after his having hair all the way down his back for years. His curls can finally show again! Dustin took his time, cutting more conservatively at first, checking in with my son to see if he liked that length or if he wanted to go shorter. It was a good experience for my son - as cutting that much hair can feel extremely dramatic for anyone. Dustin also corrected the cut on my 11 year old daughter's long layers (I do my best to maintain her layers, as it grows quite fast). He did the Sunkissed Glow on her hair too, which did not give my daughter the dramatic effect she was hoping for (she's got relatively dark brown hair). It did give her beautiful natural highlights, complimentary to her skin tone. Dustin was fully upfront with what the outcome would be beforehand - we gave it a shot. His process does not use bleach, so her hair is still very healthy and soft. (With highlights that I think are lovely). Your curls are in good hands with Dustin and Mytay (his assistant).
