I bought a Groupon for Dustbusters, and successfully scheduled an appointment. The cleaning went well & I was pleased that my husband had also purchased the same Groupon so we could try them again. Unfortunately the second time I tried to schedule an appointment, Karen rudely explained to me that it was "limit one per address." ("What are we going to do? Send 10 cleaning crews for each of your 10 kids?") I carefully read the fine print and pointed out that it was actually "limit one per person" and if I had 10 kids with Groupon accounts, they should certainly honor each Groupon. She then told me that it was Groupon's rules and that I had to call them so they could tell me that I couldn't use it. I spoke to her boss and he explained to me that they used Groupon to get new customers and could not afford to send a cleaning crew to the same address twice. Neither of them would listen to the terms of the Groupon that I had purchased, which clearly allowed two people from the same household to purchase the voucher. He suggested I give my voucher to a neighbor! So I called Groupon and they said that there was no limit per address, but they could not force Dustbusters to honor the Groupon since it was their business. Groupon apologized for the mess and refunded my husband for his voucher. I will never use Dustbusters again. read more

I purchased the Groupon after reading both reviews below. I thought I would take my chances and hope that I had the same experience as B.G. I was hoping today to have an amazingly clean house. Unfortunately I had the same experience as Emily. The crew never even showed up at my house. Karen stopped answering my calls. And my house has not been cleaned. This is another negative stars review. Do not deal with this company. At 11am we called to inquire about a cleaning appointment and spoke with a person who changed the price on us several times during that phone call. Apparently there was availability for 3pm the same day, so we made the appointment. Within about half an hour we learned that we would not be home at 3pm, so we called right back to cancel or reschedule. This time no one answered, so we left a message specifically stating that no one should come at 3pm, that we want a call back to confirm the cancellation, and we left our phone number, twice. No one called back. At 2pm we called again and left another message stating the same thing - do not send anyone, we will not be home, the appointment is cancelled, and please call back to confirm. No call back. At 6pm we returned home to find our door wide open and three non-English speaking strangers roaming around our house. A screaming match ensued, in Spanish, during which they: 1. Lied that they tried calling us 2. Lied that the owner gave them the key to our house (they showed us a key, but it had someone else's name on it, and obviously did not fit our door) 3. Tried to make us feel guilty that they won't be paid if we kick them out. We had them leave immediately. Attempting to ascertain what they did or did not do while they were there, we saw that they: 1. Broke some items in the baby's room 2. TOUCHED the baby's bottles in the kitchen 3. Went into areas that were specifically EXCLUDED when the appointment was being made 4. Moved around a ton of other items in the excluded areas 5. Touched and put away (where it took us an hour to find) stuffed toys from my toddler's bed 6. Left someone else's nasty toilet cleaning brush ON TOP of my washer (while each of our bathrooms has its own brush) 7. Rearranged our closets by deciding what goes where 8. Wow... At this point we don't know what, if anything, may still be missing. I just left a message for the owner that we are calling the police to report a breaking/entering. We still don't know how they got in. read more

I don't normally write reviews, but I feel everyone should know what they are dealing with, with Dust Busters. I bought a Living Social deal for Dust Busters and it was a total ripoff. First of all, the deal says 1.5 hours of cleaning, but the cleaners that came told me it was only an hour. I should have known they were shady from the beginning. I had moved out of an apartment and I needed the empty bathrooms (2) and kitchen to be cleaned. Three people showed up, but didn't clean at all. There was soap scum in the bathrooms, the empty cabinets and refrigerator hadn't been cleaned, they left garbage on the floor and I then had to pay another company to clean it again, per the landlord's request. I called Dust Busters to request a re-clean or a refund and Karen was extremely short and rude to me. A few days later a man from "customer service" called to inquire about what happened. I told him and he said he would look into it. No one ever called me back. I tried to call the company again, but no one has returned my call. I urge you to stay far away from this company. They are one of the worst companies I've ever dealt with, essentially just taking people's money. I think that's called stealing. read more

I used a Groupon for three labor hours of house cleaning. To be honest, I forgot about it until I got a reminder that it was about to expire. I called DustBusters four days before the Groupon was to expire. The woman on the phone was very friendly, and offered me a time slot the next day. She told me that her agency needed a window of one hour for their people to arrive, and that they weren't sure if one person would show up for three hours, or if two people would show up for ninety minutes. So, assuming that they would show up on the late side of their window, and planning for the contingency of one person showing up, I blocked off four hours for them to do the service. On the positive side, nobody minded that I have a big dog. I've had people hired to do services in my house refuse because they were afraid of dogs, so this was a concern for me. On the negative side, the window of time elapsed without anyone showing up or calling, so I called them. The woman on the phone told me that nobody was scheduled to come to my house. I insisted that they come, and they had to schedule new people to come, and it took them more than an hour from the first phone call (there were three phone calls before they would assure me that anyone would arrive at any particular time) to arrive. When they arrived, they cleaned the two rooms I had asked them to clean. They were really filthy, and they did a fairly decent job. Not great, but decent. So, a three-star job, minus a star for dropping the ball on the appointment. All in all, they finished before the four-hour window, so no real harm, no real foul. read more

If I could give less than one star I would. They are over priced, slow, and don't care about your schedule. Not to mention their quality their quality of work is a joke. Avoid these cleaners at all costs and spend your money elsewhere to avoid the headache read more

No idea why Yelp decided to filter 22 of 23 reviews for these guys. Maybe they'll filter me, too. I bought an Eversave deal for this company for a 3 hour cleaning (2 people for 1.5 hours). I called and scheduled for two days ahead; no problems at all. They showed up on time, they were completely nice, thorough, and timely. We'd been pretty lazy about cleaning for the last couple months, but the place is sparkling now. No issues with scheduling, call backs, or missed appointments. So if you're worried about buying their deal, I wouldn't be. It's a good price, especially if you live in Boston. read more

I've used Dust Busters twice now and had excellent experiences both times! The appointment was very easy to book, the cleaners were prompt, efficient, and friendly, and the job they did was excellent! Our entire house looked like new when they were done. I'm so surprised reading all of the negative reviews! Honestly, nothing bad to say about them at all. Jane, one of the cleaners, was so nice and friendly! And both times they did a fantastic job. I would recommend them. The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that without a living social or group on, it's a little pricey. read more

I purchased a deal through Amazon Local for 3 hours of cleaning (90 minutes by 2 people). Scheduling an appointment was easy but not ideal. They gave me a date, but they wouldn't commit to a time until two days before. The day of the cleaning they called at 7:45am asking if they could come 2 hours earlier than they had schedule - which I agreed to. After waiting an 1.5 hours, I gave them a call - and they said they were lost the whole 90 minutes. I don't know why they didn't call if they were indeed lost. Anyways, they finally showed up past the original time they had promised (2+ hours late). The two women did a decent cleaning job - but disappeared after about 70 minutes. It would have been fine if they had completed my entire apartment - but there were areas left that hadn't been cleaned/dusted. Not impressed. If they are using these deal websites to gain new customers - they should also make an effort to impress us so that we want to go back to them. I'm definitely not going to. read more

I was a little nervous after reading all the bad reviews on Yelp! But, I found at the bottom of all the bad yelps is a place to check the "hidden" yelps and that showed me a bunch of great Yelps! Beware of Yelp and the reviews you first see there...many times the good reviews are hidden because the business doesn't pay Yelp. But, enough about my gripes with Yelp... Two cleaners showed up a few minutes early for a 90 minute cleaning. I told them what was needed and they got right to work. They were conscientious and efficient and did a wonderful job! This 90 minute cleaning was bought on "Living Social" at a rock bottom price. It is helpful to me as a busy small business owner to "try out" a cleaner at a reduced rate before committing to regular schedule. I would recommend them to anyone who is interested in their services. read more

First of all, they arrived nearly an hour late. And nobody bothered to call me to let me know they would be late. They spent 2 1/2 hours in my house, and I had to bring them back in as they left to mop up mud on the floor. Many of the small tables and most of my lamps are not dusted. It doesn't feel that clean. The vacuum they use is not very good. I had to remind them to vacuum my hallway. If I had wanted a bad house cleaning job, I would've done it myself and saved $162. I really wish I had used a company I used before that was spectacular, two maids and a mop. In the same amount of time when they left, everything was absolutely pristine. Will not be using dustbusters again. read more

I bought a Living Social deal for 3-hours of cleaning last week and had my small, one bedroom apartment cleaned. Two cleaners showed up within the agreed upon time window and I walked them through the apartment. This was my first time hiring a cleaning service & they did an amazing job. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they even cleaned the mini-blinds in my windows. The only problem that I had was a broken glass hurricane lamp while they were dusting. The cleaner apologized repeatedly & in speaking with the owner on the phone, she agreed to replace it for me. I don't write Yelp reviews, but in reading the reviews that this company has received, I felt compelled to write one. read more

I have used Karen at Dust Busters for 5+ years, not weekly but frequently. Today was the last straw.. I had a cleaning for 2 pm.. I called around 2:40 and she said someone would be at my house by 3 pm.. no one showed. I called at 3:15pm and she never returned my call.. I called at 3:30 and she said she has no idea why no one came..never offered another option or apology. I rushed home from work to be here and a no show! She has terrible communication with her workers and with customers.. all done with Dust Busters. read more

I decided to splurge a bit and buy a Groupon for Dustbusters cleaning services. I need to keep my place clean for health reasons, but it's difficult for me to thoroughly clean my place due to mobility issues. The Groupon was advertised as 3 cleaners for one hour for $59 with satisfaction guaranteed. I called for appointment and Karen began talking about 1 person for 3 hours and then scheduled it for 2 people for an hour and half. Time wise it broke out the same way, but it was a bit confusing at first. It was a breeze to schedule the appointment. I called on a Friday and was given an appointment for that Saturday afternoon. They weren't able to give an exact time though. The cleaners arrived and one of them was instantly a bit annoying. She (whom I later learned was most likely Milagro) complained about the parking situation and having to bring her supplies into my apartment. I live in Boston, Brighton to be specific, so I don't know what they expected. Parking is difficult in my area. I told them where they could park for free for 2 hours and it was only 3 blocks away. Despite this the woman complained and I finally had to tell her to bring her supplies into my building and then to go park her car. To me this is just plain common sense and bad customer service. I also had to tell her, after several attempts at giving her parking instructions and her interrupting me every time, to be quiet and listen to me. I felt like I was speaking to a 5 year old. Despite the rough beginning I remained friendly and optimistic. They were pleasant, Milagro moved too slow, and I had to ask her 3 times to do the same tasks (wiping off objects on top of furniture) and she still didn't do it. I watched her half-way wipe off furniture, my tv, and so forth. My bedroom was still covered in dust. All she really did was stir up dust. I had to clean my bedroom after they left. I watched her barely run a rag over my tv. Her "cleaning" was a joke. I had to ask her to twice to clean off the tops of doorways, windows, and blinds and she objected because it was inconvenient. Meanwhile when I made the appointment I was told they'd do any cleaning I asked of them. I gave them specific tasks that could be done with an hour and half. They wasted their time on things that were less important to me because they didn't want to do things I truly cared about and told them to make the top priority. I have low mobility so getting on a step ladder and cleaning off tops of windows and so forth is difficult for me. My place was coated in dust in those areas. I have severe allergies and asthma and it's important that I keep my place as dust free as possible. I finally got Milagro to work on those things, but she half-ass did it. After she had sort of wiped off parts of my bedroom she got a broom with a cloth over and then proceeded to run it over the tops of windows and on the blinds. She managed to kick up a bunch of dust that then dropped all over my books, my furniture, my bed, my pillows, and my linens. When she left I could still see dust all over my blinds and windows. I will say though that the rooms that Elsa, the other cleaner, were wonderful minus of course the blinds that Milagro was supposed to clean. I called the company to discuss this issues and Karen was utterly retched. She had a miserable attitude to say the very least. As I tried to explain the situation she repeatedly interrupted me and argued with me about how they couldn't clean my entire apartment. I'm a reasonable person and I understand that an hour and half with two people is not going to get my place top to bottom spotless. With that said though two able bodied people could get the short list of important items easily taken care of and get a few other things done to boot. I tried to explain this to her and she continued to argue with me. She finally agreed to send another team, an American team, to my place for a full hour and a half, but then we were "done with each other." I never took issue with the fact that the women who cleaned my apartment were immigrants. Communication didn't seem to be a problem. Motivation seemed to be the issue. I was rather taken aback by her xenophobic statement and her rude behavior towards what could have become a regular client. The second team was great and they worked very hard. When they left my blinds and tops of windows and door frames were incredibly clean. This Groupon was supposed to be a luxury for me as well as a benefit to my health. Instead it became one more hassle in my stressful life. I pride myself on being the sort of person that takes the high road in life, but the word "hag" came to mind while dealing with Karen. If I had been happy with my experience then I would have made a regular appointment. Karen is reason enough to never use Dustbusters. Beware! read more

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. I purchased a LivingSocial deal for this place, and after some other negative experiences with LivingSocial, this will be my last deal. When I called to schedule the appointment, the woman who answered the phone asked about parking. I explained that I live in Boston, but I've never had a hard time finding a place to park on the street. There is metered parking, and also free street parking on the other side of the road. She said this would be fine, and I scheduled the appointment for 8AM Saturday morning. On Friday, they called to re-schedule for 10:30. Okay, fine. The day of my appointment I called at 11:15 when they still hadn't shown up, and the same women who answered the phone told me she'd call them to see where they were at, and call me back. 30 minutes later and no phone call from her, I called again. She told me that they weren't picking up, meaning they were at someone else's house. At 1:30 I called again, this time no answer. At 2:15 I finally received a call that the cleaners were at my apartment, but couldn't find a place to park. I counted NINE available metered parking spots just from what I saw from my window (this is unheard of on a Saturday afternoon in the city....), to which she, annoyed, said she would have to call the cleaners to see if they had any quarters. A minute later she called back to say that they didn't have quarters, so we would have to reschedule after I waited for nearly four hours for them to show up. At that point I asked her for my money back, which was clearly the wrong question because she lost it. She started yelling, talking over me, about how "LivingSocial takes 75% of the profit anyway" and that her people shouldn't have to pay for parking...and then she hung up on me. Needless to say, I did not actually have the cleaning, however if the customer service was this horrible, I can't imagine what the actual cleaning is like. read more

My wonderful husband surprised me with a deal he got on Amazon for Dustbusters cleaning. He did this shortly before the wedding knowing that I didn't had the time to keep up with the house in the final weeks before the wedding. However, that also meant we didn't have the time to wait around for 3 hours for the cleaning to actually happen. Alas, we waited until after the wedding to schedule. The first available date was quick which I was surprised about because I figured there would be backup from the Amazon deal (I find local businesses often under prepared for these deals - anywho...) The initial appointment was supposed to be for a Thursday and they would call on Wednesday with a time. Wednesday comes and we get a message saying that Thursday would not work and they would try for Friday or Saturday. Neither of those days worked for us (which is why we originally scheduled for Thursday). I called and left a message that these days would not work and to please call back and reschedule. I received a call on Friday and scheduled for the following Thursday. On Wednesday we received a message stating that we were on the schedule for someone to arrive between 2:30-3:30. It is almost 5pm and no cleaning crew, no phone call, nothing. I'd also like to note that it was for 3 hours of cleaning and they supposedly close at 5pm. Arrival time between 2:30-3:30 with operating hours until 5pm does not three hours make... I didn't even get the chance to rate the cleaning because they never showed - thankfully Amazon will refund, but this is undoubtedly one of the most unprofessional experiences I've ever encountered. Do not waste your money because you will just be worried about getting it back. Horrible company. Btw - you have to put something in the rating, but it would not be one star. Much like the other reviews - this company would be negative stars. read more

I couldn't agree more with the other reviews. Dustbusters is not reliable at all and they do not stand behind their work. My custom ivory window treatments were cleaned with a dirty rag and are now discolored. I called Karen and she dodged my calls for weeks. When I finally connected with her, she told me that she wouldn't replace them because they weren't new enough! Additionally, the "deep cleaning" that was promised was sub par at best. Unless you want to clean AFTER the cleaners leave, I wouldn't recommend them at all. read more

DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS! I booked an appointment for a Friday at 1:00 and was told I needed to be at home to let the crew in. By 2:00, no one had arrived. I called Dustbusters and left a voicemail. By 3:00, I was still waiting for a cleaning crew and a return phone call so, I called again. I spoke with Karen who told me that "oh yeah, the crew got stuck in traffic." Apparently, it takes 2 hours to drive from Reading to Brighton and it's impossible to call and give notice. I asked Karen to find out how far away the cleaning crew was. She called back and told me they were half an hour away. I waited 30 minutes and then, when no crew had arrived, I called and canceled. Karen simply said "ok." She didn't seem phased or to care in the slightest that she had just wasted my entire day. In fact, she didn't even have the courtesy to apologize. I will never use Dustbusters again. read more

I purchased a Living Social coupon for this company before reading these reviews and I wish I hadn't. I had the same frustrating experience most everyone else has. First, the phone rang and rang for 2 days as I unsucccessfully tried to reach them and it was not allowing me to leave a message. Finally, I got a hold of the owner but she couldn't schedule a cleaning without consulting her calendar which wasn't available and told me she'd call me back in a few days. A few days went by and no phone call. Then a few days later I get a message that they're coming tomorrow and I'm not home tomorrow! Just very disorganized and unreliable. Living Social was aware of the issues from other customers and refunded my money promptly. read more

First of all...let me just say that I am very....very..skeptical of all these one star reviews I see. Something is definitely fishy. Like many of the other reviewers here, I came across Dustbusters because of a Living Social deal. I thought the name and the logo were cute and the price was right so I decided to splurge on myself with a little professional house cleaning! Time flies and I called them yesterday because my voucher was going to expire next week. The woman who answered the phone was very helpful and told me they could squeeze me in today. I was pretty surprised and happy. Two people arrived to clean and it was a win win for me. The time I would have spent cleaning I used to get some work done. The cleaners were very nice...very professional and like a whirlwind of activity. My bathroom and kitchen are both sparkling..and my hardwood floors..shining. I am definitely going to make this a once a month thing. Very impressed and most of all...happy that I don't feel as though I need to do any extra cleaning for company tomorrow. read more

My husband bought me a Living Social for Dustbusters Cleaning as a gift. I read the reviews on YELP and was a bit worried but I decided to give them a chance anyway. Fist off there is no email communication, you need to call and leave a message and the owner calls you back. The owner called me back within a day and was pleasant on the phone. She called and confirmed with the time they would arrive the day before. The cleaners arrived promptly and on time. They were very polite and started working on my home. I felt comfortable leaving them alone in my home and we left shortly after. When we arrived home they were gone and we checked out the job they had done. Well they did a TERRIBLE job! I honestly do not know what they did for the 1.5 hrs they were there. I had picked up the house and tidied up before they came so they could really focus on the areas that needed cleaning. Well the kitchen floor was not swept or washed, the upstairs bathroom floor was not washed, the living room/dining room floor was we mopped but not clean as I still saw crumbs under the table so apparently they didnt sweep either.. The only dusting they did was the tv. The bathtubs and sinks were wiped down but not scrubbed. They didnt clean the baseboards or back splash. They wiped down the toilet but did not clean behind it or along the sides of it. They basically just did a touch up. My house honestly did not look any different after they left. I am VERY disappointed. I called and left the owner a message about the work they had done and she did not return my call. I guess she does not value her customers. My advice to her would be to train her cleaners on how to clean. read more

Beware. I would never recommend dealing with this company. I purchased a groupon for 3 hours (1.5 with 2 people) of cleaning services. I called a week and a half in advance for a 9:30 appt and mentioned I needed to leave around 11 and was told no problem. The day before came around and they called to confirm my 8am appt. I mentioned I book the 9:30 and they said OK I could change it but that means they would be there between 9:30 and 10:30am. This was news to me. When I was explaining the previous conversation to them and saying I planned my morning for 9:30-11am to be home for this, they hung up on me. I was left not knowing if I'd have an appt at all. When trying to call back they refused my calls, went straight to voicemail, and would not return my messages. The weirdest part is someone witnessed the call and couldn't understand what I did wrong. I didn't swear, yell, or insult on the call, I just clearly explained that their re-scheduling put me in a bad position. What type of company just hangs up on their customers? Fortunately Groupon saved me. I called and told them the story and they refunded my money immediately. Please save yourselves the trouble. Best of luck! read more

Well let's just say I wish I had read the reviews before I purchased my groupon. The groupon was for 3 man hours at $59 - ($150 value). Now anyone who has ever used a cleaning service knows that $150 for essentially two people for an hour and a half is quite an inflated price...but alas I still bought the coupon. I redeemed it this week and actually didn't have much of a problem scheduling the appointment. The woman who answered told me she couldn't commit to giving me the first morning spot because her "loyal customers" came first. She called the day before I was schedule and did actually honor the first time slot so I was happy. They arrived on time, but let me tell you...if my boyfriend had not been home I would not have let these people through my front door. But I won't judge your house cleaning abilities on your looks so I let them in. The man burst through the front door without knocking, lugging his huge vaccum bumped into all the walls to get to the bathroom, throws his vaccum down and says how many bathrooms are we cleaning? I responded with 1 and they got started. Not even 5 mins had passed before i heard a crash in the bathroom. The second cleaner (an elderly woman who didnt speak english) had knocked down the shower rod and curtain. The other cleaner did not go in to help her so I tried going in. I wasn't able to put it back up so I just left it so she could clean around it. I honestly just wanted them out of my house before they caused anymore damage. I had to apologize to my boyfriend for even buying the groupon because the experience was SO bad. I left my boyfriend at the house as they finished cleaning and thankfully there were no other issues. When I came home, I was hoping to see a clean house that maybe even smelled like they had cleaned! NOPE! I could tell they vacuumed but literally NOTHING else was noticeably clean. 1.5 hours with two people in a barely 1,000sq ft house and I couldnt tell anything was cleaned?! What did you do the whole time?! This is my first YELP post because this experience was just so bad I had to share. Please beware if you use these people.... read more

No amount of reputation restorer can help out this business as the number of bad reviews prior to and this one. I should have read the reviews before buying the Groupon; my mistake. I scheduled appointments for three separate occasions and the cleaning people never showed. I wasted my time waiting at my house for about a total of 8hrs. Groupon has refunded my money. I called yesterday and my apartment was cleaned today. I used a living social coupon for 3 hours of work and 2 cleaners came for about 90+mins. It certainly wasn't a deep cleaning, but I wasn't expecting one based the time limitations of the certificate. My place is certainly much cleaner than it has been and I am very happy with the results. I would recommend the service for the ease of scheduling (especially being accommodated on short notice,) the ladies who came were very pleasant and did a good job cleaning with the time allotted. They brought their own cleaning supplies and vacuum. For me this was a luxury, if I could afford it I would do monthly or bi-monthly clean. I am giving them a 4 stars based on certificate usage b/c w/o it it would be too pricey for me and I might have expected more. (I would do 3 stars for full price.) I purchased September 21, 2015 the above voucher as a gift for my son and his wife they had just moved into their new home. They had booked their appointment for 12/15/15 and Dustbusters did come and what a mess to come home to. owner came home from work to an ok job as she entered the lower level family room area and then entered the living room area on the main floor and the Christmas tree was on the floor and decorations all broken and from the tree stand water all over all the gifts and on the hardwood floor. My Son called me right away from work to see what I could do to help his wife out with this mess. The tree star and some decorations had been placed on a chair but the rest of the tree and water was left there, no one called us to say there was an accident so that we could get this cleaned up to prevent further damage. So now the hardwood floor is damaged and the gifts cannot be used or returned due to they are soaked. The ordainments that were very special since my son and his wife got married new year's eve of 2015 and a lot of people gave them as gifts, and my son is a fire fighter and army reserves and a few that were special were broken. Not sure how anyone can have this happen and not call the homeowner to state there has been an accident and let them be notified. Also these two are professional people and Dustbusters has made a very poor impression. We first used Dustbusters' services when we were moving in 2015. They did an impeccable top to bottom cleaning of our 3b single family house. So when we were looking for regular cleaners at our new condo, we called Dustbusters immediately. Since then the service quality has been spotty. There were a couple of times when the cleaning team did such a good job we felt like we came home to a 5-star hotel. But most of the time, we either found evidence of places that have not been cleaned at all, or were cleaned in a rush. One time, a cleaner broke a ceramic jar and just left it there with no apology or explaination. The worst offense, however, is how often the cleaning team is late (1+ hr) with no follow up call. So we are just left waiting around or having to call the owner ourselves multiple times before she answers. We have an infant and two big dogs (which the cleaners have made it very clear that they are afraid of) so we try our best to be out of their way when they are here, either by hanging out in our basement den or get out of the house for a couple of hours. But when they are more than 1 hour late, we have to rework our entire day. Any parents with infants know how badly this screws things up. I have given them the benefit of the doubt many times in the past and continued using their services. But after today, when they are more than 1 hr late with no call, and the owner making excuses and defending their actions with no apology, I decided that I don't need this unnecessary frustration anymore in my life. read more

The two reviews above are spot on! AVOID THIS BUSINESS I signed up for a cleaning via Groupon. The team pulled a no-show, no-call for the appointment. I tried to contact them with no success. Karen - the owner - contacted me several hours later. She said the team had fallen behind schedule. She did not have a satisfactory answer as to why I could not reach a representative when I called. I rescheduled a cleaning for the next day. Karen thanked me for my understanding & promised to be on time. Much to my disappointment, the team pulled a no-show, no-call again! I've already refunded my Groupon. This isn't baseball - 2 strikes means you're out. There are plenty of better cleaning service options in Greater Boston. read more

Short version: Cleaning was good, but directions/requests not followed-i.e. floors not mopped, stuff moved that was supposed to be untouched. Much bigger issue was unreliability and non-existent communications. For the three cleanings Dustbusters were a no-show once and 1.5+ hours late twice. One appointment consequently had to be scheduled three different times and 11 hours of my time were wasted. No consideration was offered for the inconvenience to me. Long version: My regular cleaner finished school which left me high, dry, and dusty. Unable to get a recommendation from friends, I started shopping around using LivingSocial, Groupon, and Google Offers. Dustbusters is the 6th or 7th service I have used. Booking the appointments was easy; Karen was super accommodating; I had pre-paid three cleanings and was able to schedule all three at the intervals I preferrred and at convenient times. The first cleaning was in some ways very impressive. The team was quite thorough, but they did not mop the floors which surprised me as I had taken pains to explain that what I cared most about was the floors. The lead cleaner also annoyed me by taking it upon herself to re-organize things in my kitchen that I had requested not be touched. Some of it was weird, too, like segregating the two brands of dishwashing detergent pods I had and taking one of my dog's bowls to do so. Second cleaning was a disaster. I had called the day before to confirm the time as I had accidentally deleted it from my calendar. No call back. I prepared for them by 8am, as that had been the time of my prior cleaning. I called Karen again at 8:15 to check the time, citing my earlier call. No apology, but she said the appointment was in the afternoon and she would call back to give me the exact time. She had not called back by noon, so I called again. At 1 I was told they would be here "within the hour. Forty five minutes later, I got a call back telling me they had gotten confused, and would be there by 3:30. They never showed. Karen did not respond to my two additional calls. An entire day was eaten and nothing achieved. I called again on Monday and booked for 10 on Tuesday. At 10:30 I called Karen and was told that they should be here "soon." Later I was told the team could be there by 11:20--almost an hour and a half late, and excuse me, but that was quoting a drive time from Davis Sq to Chestnut Hill that neither Superman or Chitty Chitty Bang Bang could achieve. I rescheduled for Wednesday at 8:30. I called at 9 as they had not arrived and was told they'd be here soon, that they couldn't find my house. I called again at 9:30 and was told again that they would be here "soon." The team actually came at 10-90 minutes late. They didn't stay for as much as a single extra minute. The third appointment was fine, but there is no way I would book any more with this service. They had absolutely -0- respect for my time. Among the things that bother me most in this set of experiences is that at no point were the people pro-active: I received no phone calls warning of lateness, apprising me of delays, or seeking resolution of issues. I am supposed to believe that Dustbusters' employees spent literal hours over three different days trying to find my home, but no one called me. read more

These guys are pretty great! I didn't use a professional service before just had a woman that would come on and off. I tried them with the groupon last year and have used them ever since. They do a terrific job in my apartment leaving it glistening and shining. The only reason this is not a five is because sometimes they are iffy with the timing and maybe a little late or a little early - no big deal, works for me and I've been very happy with the service!! read more

I had a terrible experience from start to finish with Dustbuster, scheduling issues, called a liar, my condo smelled like a dirty mop, sand from my area rugs on the counter. Karen promised to resolve the issue. After 6 months and complete silence I went to the BBB. She lied to them and said the issue was taken care of. I would stay away from them. read more

Bought a groupon for Dustbusters. Had a difficult time scheduling with Karen. I bought the extra one for (3) 1 1/2 hour cleanings with 2 people. Karen said it was going to run out I call in April, and May 22 was the last day. I said OK I will go for 4 1/2 hours all at once. She said it would be difficult to schedule that amount of time. I dug my heals in, she gave me a time and date--no follow up call or reminder. The cleaners showed up 2 hours early. I called Karen and told her, I could not have them clean now, so I sent them on their way. I had to call again and schedule--this time no fuss. They showed up a 10:30, even thought the gal claimed 10:15, and left by 2:45, when it should have been 3:00. They also took a half hour for lunch. The gal worked hard, and did a really good job. The man was lazy and basically did nothing. I worked along side them, and the gal and I redid what the lazy man did not do. The house ended up decent. I am thrilled I did not pay full price for the cleaning which would have been at least 300.00 dollars. I would have tipped, but they took a half hour for lunch, cheated me out of 15 minutes of work at the end.. So I lost an hour and a half of work time. According to how Dustbuster's accounts for their time with having a 2 people team. read more

This company is a disaster! I wish I had read the reviews before I purchased a Groupon with them. I was excited to have my house cleaned but when I called to redeem my coupon, Karen on the phone was rude from the start. I felt like I was inconveniencing her with my call. And when I told her I lived in Boston, she went on and on about parking and how if I didn't have private parking there was no way they would be able to clean my place. I understand that parking is a problem, but I was sure we could figure out a solution - she was just so negative I was flustered. She said several times that I should just call Groupon and get my money back and that she makes no money off the Groupon deal anyway. I hung up discouraged. But even so, I wanted to make it work. I researched car parking garages near my apartment and called back and offered to pay up to $30 on top to offset any parking garage fees. She was still grumpy with me and she would not really commit to a certain time. I explained that my schedule wasn't completely flexible and we would have to set a time. She said she would call me the day before then hung up on me. I never got a phone call (I'm not sure she actually ever took my phone number). I'm asking Groupon for a refund. I have never written a review before, but I'm so upset about how this company treated me, I feel that I had to write something (even if just to make myself feel better). I would not recommend this company to anyone! read more

I was given a groupon for a one hour 3 person cleaning for a gift which was a great gift but not happy with service I was told the cleaning crew would be here from 12 to 1pm and nobody showed unitl 12:45. Only 2 people showed up. they didn't do a good job at all. I was very disappointed since it was a gift. I have smears all over my kitchen table, counter tops and kitchen floors which are hardwood. I would not recommend buying this groupon. Also they tell you to tip on the groupon. I'm sorry but if you don't fill my expectations I don't feel like I SHOULD have to tip. read more

I wish I had read the reviews before buying a LivingSocial coupon for them. Hilarious now to see the Yelp responses from 2013 of the Owner/Manager, Karen saying that she'll never do another social media deal...she shouldn't! Can't handle it. My experience with this company from beginning to end was awful. I cannot state that hard enough. When I first called to try to schedule something - multiple weeks out - I was told that they couldn't commit that early. They would make it tentative for the day but only lock down the specific time on the day before. Since that was inconvenient for me, I asked if it was possible to at least get the afternoon, preferably late, because no one would be home in the morning of the day we were requesting. I was told that would probably work. A couple of days in advance, I called to see if I could get something more specific, and was treated like a second-class citizen by Karen, who continually complained about "You LivingSocial buyers." When I called her out on her attitude, she backed down, but said she still could not commit to a time because their "regular" customers might have requests that would override LivingSocial buyers. "Fine," I said. 24 hours in advance of my requested time, they left a message to confirm that 2 workers would show up at 3:30 PM. At 4:30 PM on that day, one of the workers called to tell me that they would arrive in about an hour - "Are you still expecting us?" Yes, I was! So they were ~2 hours late, which was difficult to deal with. My wife was waiting for them and just started cleaning herself. When the team of 2 arrived, she asked them to clean up other parts of the house. They did a terrible job and I had to come in the next day behind them to LITERALLY mop up after them. I cannot recommend anything other than to AVOID this company. read more

I bought an 3 hours cleaning with Eversave. The two cleaners arrived a bit late but i guess that happens. It gave me lots a time to tidy up and get the house ready for them. The lady did not seem to understand English. I assume he translated to her what i did say and showed to him. It was basically to vacuum and mopped the floors, do the bathrooms and especially the kitchen. I told him i had already dusted and cleaned all our antique/Asian furniture. After they finished( very fast )upstairs i went to take a look. My daughter's floor was still dusty and he apparently he did not vacuum the master bedroom. When i mentioned it to him he said he was going to use the other vacuum? They never went back upstairs. The toilets were half-ass done and she even did not clean the hardware in the shower. We just had the grout redone in all our bathrooms as well a new bathtub so it didn't even need to be scrubbed. Yet there was a sticky film left on some the tiles like it wasn't rinsed at all? Anyway i did not even mention the bathrooms to them. 20 minutes before the hour 1/2 was up i see the older lady outside with her cleaning products smoking a cigarette. I figure she will come back and wash the kitchen floor which is the only thing that needed a good cleaning. I said to the guy that the kitchen floor was not done and he said your time is done. I showed him the clock and i said there is still 15- minutes left. " your clock is fast" he respond. Really! he refused to clean it and requested the voucher. So i said i don't think so you are not even finished so he went back inside my house into my husband's office to look for it. ' At that point i had enough and it was making my daughter uncomfortable so i ask him to leave and on the way out he said f.... you. Well, that was a great experience!. Never again. I will do my own cleaning now... When i called the owner, she said it wasn't acceptable but didn't seem that shocked. She offered for an other team to come the next day but at that point it was too late. You shouldn't have to send an other team of cleaners again and again as i just read in the "filtered" reviews. I wish i would have read them before. Live and learn. :) read more

This company is run by rude idiots. I've never used them - and never will - but every single week they call my house and tell me my cleaning day is Monday. I've called the company over 10 times to politely tell them they have the wrong number... and a week later I get another call: "it's Dustbusters and your cleaning day is Monday!" When I answer the phone and explain AGAIN to the woman that they have the wrong number, the woman switches from friendly into a complete angry rude jerk... she has actually SLAMMED down the phone in my ear. Like it's MY fault she's calling the wrong number!! Meanwhile I've never been anything but polite and professional. I wish I could say the same for this company. Judging from the other reviews here, I'm not alone in my experience. I can only imagine how they clean a house.... ugh. Stay away from this company!! read more

Used a Living Social voucher. Scheduling was easy; cleaners were friendly. But they forgot to call about time period the day before, as they said they would, so we had to find a different day. On the day of, the cleaners showed up 10 minutes after the designated window and wore their shoes in the house while cleaning (we don't wear shoes in the house!). Cleaning job was okay, but not very thorough. Disappointed as I had hoped to use them regularly. I'll have to keep looking.... read more
