Because it was alittle hot outside we were able to eat indoors with my well behaved pup! We shared the Korean pork ribs which were slightly crispy and flavorful! Very good choice! We also had a hazy beer and I had a glass of wine. That get very busy as soon as the doors open at 11am! For some reason my puppy seemed a bit scared of the noise so we packed up the food and left. Close to 10 minutes later, my waitress came by to take my order. I went to the restroom and returned to find my water missing but my coffee was still there. Food arrived fairly quickly. The hash browns were completely overcooked with no yellow potatoes at all, everything was beyond crispy brown. The toast was cold and /or stale. Never saw my waitress after placing my order. Had to flag down some other employee for a box for my sausage and jalapeno scramble and my check. Considering the amount of employees in this place, the service was terrible. No one was rude but service was non existent. No one offered to refill my coffee or even came by during the 25 minutes I was there after my order was delivered. $25 for a coffee and scramble I've been to Nash's plenty of times and this was by far the worst experience. Being pregnant, she's operating with heightened food detection abilities that rival military technology, so she immediately declared, "We're coming back here." A week later we returned with her boyfriend and brother, and what followed can best be described as a competitive eating event. The hostess greeted us warmly, got us seated quickly, and we settled into the lively outdoor patio. Great atmosphere, cold drinks, sports on the TVs, and just enough energy to feel fun without feeling chaotic. We started with ahi bites, beer cheese pretzels, jalapeño poppers, and Brussels sprouts. The ahi bites were fantastic. Fresh ahi, creamy avocado, crispy wontons, and a little heat at the finish line. The pretzels were soft enough to pull apart with your fingers and the beer cheese was rich and addictive. The jalapeño poppers got an unexpected upgrade from the blackberry BBQ sauce, which gave them a sweet, smoky personality all their own. Then there were the Brussels sprouts. Whoever thought of pairing Brussels sprouts with blackberry drizzle deserves a raise. Sweet, savory, crispy, tender, and impossible to stop eating. For dinner we sampled the taco bowl, brisket bowl, rice bowl loaded with brisket, and a house salad. The taco bowl was colorful, fresh, and loaded with flavor. The brisket bowl was my personal favorite. Smoky brisket over fried rice with vegetables, crispy wontons, cotija cheese, and a sweet-spicy sauce that kept me digging in long after I should have stopped. The rice bowl with added brisket was almost comical when it arrived. Massive chunks of brisket perched on top like they owned the place. Tender, smoky, juicy, and worth every penny. Even the house salad was fresh enough to remind us we were technically eating vegetables. What stood out most was that every dish felt like someone in the kitchen actually cared. The bib salad was also a treat - nice chop, and the lardons were perfectly cooked little flavor bombs that stood up nicely to the blue cheese. We had the lobseter ravioli, and the single-layer crispy lasagne for our meals. The lobster ravioli was delicious, and the freshly made sundried tomatoes added a little extra structure to balance the plate. The single layer lasagne was really interesting. Wasn't sure what to expect, and the server said it was a little controversial, so I tried it. It came out as a large sheet - fresh spinach pasta sheets, layered with a delicious bolognese sauce, and topped with pesto and bechamel. Unconventional? Yes. Delicious? YES! I'm so glad I was feeling experimental - it was an innovative dish. Overall, we loved it. Service was very solid - attentive, without being intrusive. Perfect evening! In the past we came for Happy Hour as their appetizers, pizzas, and small plates are delicious. Yesterday we decided Crush was the place for our 14-year anniversary, and it exceeded expectations. The food was delicious as always (I had the Allen Prime Rib and my wife had the Short Rib Stroganoff). But what took it over the top was our server - Ethan. He was friendly, warm, personable, attentive, and on top of everything. Being at a great restaurant with great food is only a GOOD experience if your server is disengaged, but when your server is awesome, it elevates everything. My wife and I ended the evening highly satisfied and grateful. Thank you Crush (and Ethan) for such a great anniversary night.

Visiting Sierra Nevada Brewing's original facility in Chico has been on my brewery bucket list for…read moremany years. It was at the same time unexpected and also exactly as I had imagined. The brewery is outside of downtown on a huge campus. Public free parking is covered and nearby, you can see the employee entrance and all the brewery buildings beyond. The restaurant & bar entrance is closest to the parking (see separate review), but there's so much more to see on your visit. For beer fans, the highlight will probably be the taproom and merchandise shop in the farther building. It definitely felt like the employee bar, with many clearly finishing shifts for a beer before heading home. It's a small bar, but has an amazing tap selection including some not available to try anywhere else. They have small tables too, which overlooks like the tour entrance area and merchandise store. It's huge and there's a ton of swag. You can also get all their fresh cases and special bottled selections to go, again including some not available elsewhere. Prices are reasonable and it's definitely worth a stop! If you want to do a tour, they offer many different ones including ones with special tastings but they should be booked ahead of time.

Visited September 26th…read more I checked out this place because I have friends that have their kids enrolled at Chico State. Because they live in Southern California they wanted to have some options for all of us to stay at. This one marked off all the boxes! It was built in the 1904 with some original brick walls in the entry. Its a great location with parking garage next door and Walking distance to shops and restaurants! A real PLUS is they have a nice restaurant inside called The Grill with a full bar. Air conditioned rooms with free wifi and an elevator. Bank of America is across the street and the Rawbar is right next door! Great safe location! I can't wait to stay there with friends!

Food was also very good but didn't stand out quite as much. We came in on a Tuesday night in large part because Crush was closed which was our first choice for the third dinner in Chico. We had already eaten as 5th St Steakhouse and the Sierra Nevada Taproom on earlier nights and I would only pick Sierra Nevada over this place because it's such an institution if you've never been there before. Otherwise this is my current top pic in Chico. Our server was really great. Checked in often and accommodating to ask about minor modifications to cocktails (mostly light syrup requests). When I see a restaurant cocktail menu I usually see 1-2 things that sound good but they have a great cocktail list where half sounded great. Started off with a Passionfruit Porto Sour and they accommodated a request for 1/2 simple syrup on it. It was good. My dinner mate got a Pomegranate Ginger Martini which was good enough to order a second later. We also were able to squeeze in a couple of happy hour apps. The Roman artichokes and shrimp gambas were good and easy to share. They also start you off with a little biscuit amuse bouche with compound butter but it was a miss. Very dense and not super flavorful or right out of the oven. The compound butter wasn't good enough to salvage it either. That bite was probably the worse of the night which is a positive. I got eh ribeye with salsa verde, broccolini and fingering potatoes which was good. They were a little heavy handed for my taste with the salsa verde but was ok because it was thick enough to scape partially off and it wasn't too salty and tasty. Just too much covering the steak. The steak itself was ok and already cut into strips but not a standout. The steak at 5th Street was better cut and cooked piece of meat. The broccolini was fine as well but the best thing on the plate was the fingerling potatoes and I'm not a potatoes person. They were partially smashed and cooked well enough to have some crispy outside. Dinner mate had the grilled petite tender which was a filet with a nice fruit glaze and they liked it but I didn't try. I ordered a second cocktail in the form of a coffee Negroni which I had never had before and was eager to try but was told they ran out because they pre-batch it. I got an east side instead off menu and it was solid. We followed up with a chocolate martini and a penicillin (1/2 honey) which was a nice end. Friendly attentive service, great drinks and solid food. We ate on a nice outdoor patio which was nice in the warm weather but there were a lot of flies and the table tops have ridges which made the cocktails on there dicey. Overall strongly recommend!

She definitely made for an enjoyable experience. The menu is nicely broad with some very good and interesting selections. For an appetizer I selected the Alsatian Tarte Flambe. With the description of a "tarte" plus "puffed pastry" I was somewhat surprised when what looked like a flatbread arrived. Although somewhat true to the description I expected something like a cup shaped pastry. It was delicious enough so no complaints over the ingredients and flavor. If anything it tasted a bit top heavy with vinegar, yet still enjoyable. I washed it down with a Schramsberg Prosecco which was a perfect accompaniment. For an entree I choose the Grilled 6oz Petit Tender (medium rare) with asparagus and scalloped potatoes topped by a red wine and berry sauce. It was excellent, flavorful with the meat very tender. I was very pleased. It was an abundant portion so I was quite full after consuming it. My dining companion had the grilled meatloaf with ground filet mignon and pork sausage. It is baked and then grilled. I tried some and it is EPIC. It has to be one of the best meatloaf preparation I ever tasted. Bravo on this dish! We shared a bottle of Tempranillo to accompany it which was perfect. For dessert we shared a nice and refreshing mint chocolate chip ice cream which was generously comped as we were there for a special occasion. Thank you! I would definitely return and try other dishes, although the meatloaf is a must standout. Overall a very good experience.
