Great service from Durham Glass on a back windshield (hatch cover) for my 2000 Isuzu Rodeo. Checked with my favorite body shop for recommendations and they suggested Durham Glass. Very happy with the work. Edith - owner and also runs the front office - quoted a price that was significantly less than the competition and scheduled a morning for me to come into the shop. Quick to answer phone and respond with quote. It took 3 weeks from order to replacing glass window. Replacement install was quick and efficient in about 1 hour. Crew were not super friendly but knew their job. Pricing was at par with competitors. My only gripe is they don't accept electronic payment. You either pay extra for credit card processing or mail in a check. Seriously? most people have stopped using paper checks!! read more

I was looking for someone to fix my window situation at my home and to my amazement a number of company's aren't doing residential work now...hmmm. I contacted Durham Glass for service and the office staff was VERY helpful.They sent Chris out to measure and when we decided to place the order Chris came out again to dbl check his measurements. This was no small job as you can see. We had three qi down needing to be fixed or replaced and Chris and crew got it done. So happy with their work. I can't believe I am reading all these great reviews. This a terrible company!!! I would never recommend them to anyone, even my worst enemy. Communication and customer service is awful. I started doing business with them in November of 2021 and one problem after the next it wasn't fixed until February of 2022. Now I saw that there is condensation in that window pane only. I hate the thought of having to deal with them again......ugh. Stay far away from this company!!!!! read more

I caught a rock in my windshield on the interstate and knew I would need it replaced. Another nationally known glass company quoted me $400 for the work, and Durham Glass came in at less than half of that. Their crew was on time, and they explained everything they were going to do along with all precautions I would have to take after the repair had be done. Awesome service! Excellent customer service. It's definitely a family establishment and very friendly. The price was more than fair (I was willing to pay more but she wouldn't accept it). The repair work was just done today, so hopefully it will last well over time, but I feel confident that if anything goes wrong with the repair, they'll back up their work. Word to the wise: if your rearview mirror falls off of your car, go to Durham Glass. If you go to a car repair place, they'll charge more for the same work. And, you can try to buy the kit from Autozone, but you'll spend $5 on a solvent to remove the old glue, and $5 on the glue kit, and it'll probably fall off. With that, you could have saved yourself the hassle and gone to Durham Glass! read more

I had poor communication dealing with Edith from this company. I booked a date for them to come out to "get everything taken care of", but she could not confirm a time until the actual day they were coming out. It was an inconvenience for me to have to keep my whole day open, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt based on their good Yelp! reviews. Two guys showed up reeking of cigarette smoke. I believe one was a trainee, because when the 2nd guy re-measured the window, he realized the first measurement was off by 7/8", and started chastising him. Granted, I'm not a window installer, but I think that's kind of a big deal if they would have shown up with a double-paned window that was almost an inch short. After that, they just started to walk out of my house without saying a word to me. I had to stop them to ask what happens next. They confirmed that my seal was broken, and that they would have to go back to the shop to get a quote in a day or two, and then order it, and it would be about a week to a week and a half for it to come in. So much for "getting everything taken care of" in one day. I played phone tag with Edith a couple times. She claimed to have left me a message, but I had nothing on my voicemail. Again, not a huge deal in isolation, but all these things add up. When we finally spoke, we set up a day to have the new window installed. She left me a voice mail confirming that day. She just called to tell me that my window came in, and when I re-confirmed our day, she informed me that they were closed that Friday, and that was the first she had ever heard of our appointment. I have her (very distinct) voice on my voicemail where she confirmed the day TWICE! I had to have my brother take a day off work in order to be there to have the glass installed, and now they won't do it. I'm closing on my house in less than a month, and I literally have no other day I could be home to have this window installed for the new owners. Needless to say, I am quite disappointed with my experience with Durham Glass. I really wanted to support a small, local business, but this one just couldn't make it happen. read more

Two gentlemen came to my office to replace the glass in less than thirty minutes. Everyone I talked to was friendly and helpful. I have been waiting to do this review until I had the chance to observe my new windshield in all types of weather. Early in the fall of 2014, my front windshield was hit by a rock while driving on the interstate. The crack in it spread really fast, so we decided to completely replace the windshield. I looked at other places, but no other company's prices could beat Durham Glass' price. To make things easier, they also came TO MY HOUSE to do their work, and it didn't cost anything extra. I've now driven this car to Tennessee and back (as well as all around the Triangle), through rain, snow, strong winds, and in both hot and cold temperatures, and I must say that I am extremely pleased with how well this has worked. I haven't written a Yelp review in forever, but I wanted to take a moment to sing the praises of Durham Glass. I had a car window shatter the other day and I brought it to Durham Glass to get it repaired. Their prices were very reasonable, the work was don't quickly, and they even gave me a ride to and from work when I had to bring it back due to an error on my part. I spoke with Edith, who runs the administrative side of things and Lance, who repairs home glass, but was nice enough to give take me back to work while my car waited. Both were very friendly.
