Not a very good service experience. I heard about this place through the next-door app So I decided to give them a try. All I can say is that the people I dealt with there seemed very dis-interested in offering me great service. All I got was long faces and despondent attitudes the whole time. When I dropped off my vacuum the guy told me he would call me the "next day". Well, days go by and I had to hunt them down for feedback each time. They ended up eventually fixing my vacuum after several days, I believe 5 business days in all which carried through the weekend. All in all it was over a week just to get a simple cleaning. They ended up fixing my vacuum and the charge was $118. Seems very high to me but I am trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. We will see how long my vacuum holds up now that they have cleaned it, but all I can say is this was just not a very good service experience all around. Poor attitudes, disinterested staff, and slow wait times. Next time I will definitely be taking my business somewhere else. read more

The week before Christmas in 2020, I brought in a $650 Dyson vac into the store, which after only 2 1/2 years needed a new battery; I was told that these are difficult to get and would cost about $150. I was given a claim check stating NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOSS BY FIRE OR THEFT MERCHANDISE NOT CALLED FOR WITHIN 30 DAYS WILL BE SOLD FOR CHARGES. I also ordered a new stick Vacuum. On a Saturday I went to the shop at 3 p.m for pick up, but it was already closed at 2 p.m. I went back on Dec 22, 2020 and saw that the store had a major fire and was totally locked up. I contacted the owner, Ryan Fussell by e-mail, expressed my sorrow and asked him to let me know about my order and the return of my Dyson. On 12/23/2022 Ryan responded and wrote that everything in the building was destroyed and that he believed that my vac may be okay. He also said that he will get back to me with more information as soon as they let me in the building. That was the last response I got. Before, I went to this store for supplies ,I also bought a new Miele vac and had friendly conversations with Ryan; I even gave him a Deer roast. The problem with this store is not Ryan, but his father Bruno A Fussel, who came from Germany to the USA half a century ago, where he must have his business ethics left behind. This man is choleric, unfriendly and has a short fuse (see other reviews). I found out that he lives in Naperville and called his home; he started yelling and slammed his phone on the receiver. Thinking that it was strange for a store that must have a license to operate can decline fire and theft responsibility covering appliances for repair into their premises, I contacted the Wheaton Chamber of Commerce, which referred me to the Dupage County Court and free legal service. No one was willing to give a satisfactory answer. As I now have found out, Dupage Vaccum is operating on Roosevelt Rd. again and also has a store on 5th Ave in Naperville; registered owner Ryan Russel. It is outrageous that a business can operate here without any liability insurance over which a customer has no control. A Miele vac can cost new up to $1,800, and some bicycles which Dupage also repairs can run up to $5000 to $10,000. It is also fortunate the Bruno Fussel does not own a jewelry business. In my view, the Fussel people should not be trusted and qualified to operate any business here. read more

I have been going to Dupage Vacuum for 40 yrs when ever I needed a vacuum serviced, or needed bags, belts etc. 2 wks ago our whole house vacuum's filter bag broke, and I called them to order me a new one. At first Ryan was helpful and placed an order for me. After one week i called him, and he had not received the order, he promised to call around and find another one for me and let me know. he never returned my call. After 2 wks of waiting I called him back to see what he found out. his partner answered the phone, and asked Ryan to come talk to me, I heard Ryan say, just hang up on her, I do not want to be bothered by her order. His partner hung up on me, and did not call back. This is the most unprofessional behavior I have ever experienced. I will never go back there and will spread the word about them. read more

These people are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I finally stopped in there for some small vacuum parts, which they had available, and I was pleasantly surprised with what they had going on in there. They have a lot of different vacuum cleaners for sale both new and used and many on display to try out. The people there know their stuff and will solve any needs you have. Most people don't realize that when you vacuum your home carpet that there is so much dirty air being blown back in to the air you breathe. This causes major allergy problems and other issues as you live and breathe in your own home! I'm someone who knows and understands this and the people there are spot on with their recommendations and solutions for this. You don't have to break the bank to keep a clean and healthy carpet and home. Go see these people and avoid the big box stores and Amazon which is owned by one of the worst people in the world. I just can't go back here. This is closer than the vacuum repair place in Naperville, so I was too lazy to drive further and I paid for it. Literally. I took my vacuum in because it quit working. I explained to the repair guy what I thought was wrong. He had it for a week and I picked it up in a rush and took it home. It was working, but only if I held it still. Who vacuums like that? I took it back, explained the problem again and he assured it me he could fix it quickly. I have 4 boys and some people would shudder at all the crumbs and junk on my floor. It's summer and they just walk around eating! Four days later I called to see if it was ready. Someone else took the call, found my vacuum and said there was a note on it and he didn't know what it meant and I would have to call back later. At this point I was getting desperate and had to use the shop vac. Not a good time. I called again and the person who answered the phone was surprised that I hadn't been called to say it was ready. The "quick fix" took a week. When I picked it up, someone else was there, gave me my vacuum and walked away. No help with the door or getting it into my car. I'm all for supporting local businesses, but I need good customer service and it's not happening here. read more

The absolute WORST!!! I've had better experiences at a used car lot. I recently took my vacuum in because the plug at the end of the cord was damaged. An old man who I assumed was the owner looked at it and quoted $90 for the repair, so I left the unit with them. Two days later someone called and said it would be $148. When I told them I was quoted $90, the person on the end of the phone was extremely rude and said that the $90 was "just for the cord" and that it didn't include other components (this was never mentioned in the initial estimate). I absolutely hate these "bait and switch" tactics so I went in to pick up the unit. When I inquired about the disparity in repair estimates, old vacuum guy says angrily "I did not quote you $90", turns his back and walks away to the rear of the store. A younger man came to the counter and introduced himself as the owner. I explained that I had been coming there for several years and had never been treated this badly. Then things got really bizarre. As the owner was attempting to size up the situation, a lady appears out of nowhere and says to me "why don't you just leave?" and "I don't care how long you've been coming here!" Meanwhile, old vacuum guy is storming around the front desk area - all red-faced and slamming cabinet doors! I thought I was in an episode of the Twilight Zone! To be fair, the young man who identified himself as the owner walked out to my car with me and somewhat apologized for the mix up, He said he wasn't sure what he could do to resolve the situation (HINT: do whatever you can to NOT let a loyal customer walk out the door forever, like maybe honor the $90 estimate?). Anyway, I took my business over to Naperville Vacuum and they charged me $49 for the same repair. It's a little farther drive but well worth it to be given a fair price and treated like a valued customer. read more

As the owner of "Maid to Perfection" cleaning service I rely heavily on my equipment. I have a lot of commercial grade vacuums that get a good workout every day. Inevitably they break down. Bruno and his crew always provide prompt, courteous and quality repairs. I know others have commented on having to wait for parts. Well I do too, but DuPage vacuum (or most any repair shop) can't possibly carry every part for every vacuum they repair. Hey, even car repair shops usually have to order your parts! I have a 30 year old Hoover upright which I brought in about a month ago. He advised that this particular model was a very well built model and suggested I not buy a new one (the sell all kind of new vacuums ). After thoroughly searching all his sources for required part since they weren't made anymore he went to an expert repair guy who suggested novel repair with a new part. It worked, the vacuum hums like it was new and I couldn't be more thankful and appreciative for going way beyond my highest expectations, all for the first stated nominal cost. Terrible experience with DuPage Vacuum. Brought a vacuum in for repair, they charged me $80 for a Dyson stick vacuum that kept shutting down after a few seconds. Brought the vacuum home and the problem had not been fixed. Took it back to the shop, they sat on it for 3 weeks without contacting us. Finally I went to the store to retrieve it and they said it was probably a battery. They refused to refund the $80 for a repair that did nothing. Their staff will not wear masks either. I went to vacuum my house to find out my vacuum was broken. It was hissing and smoking with a foul odor. Company was coming over so I needed the place clean. I brought the vacuum into Dupage Vacuum without much hope for the vacuum. Ryan showed me some vacuums but told me to give him a little to look it over. He called me back a few hours later and told me he could fix my vacuum and overnight the parts needed. He really saved me. It was good to see that they were a local store too. read more

This place is a ripoff. I brought in an older Electrolux for a simple repair. I know what the problem was. The suction control valve was malfunctioning. The next day they called and rattled off a long list of problems, including wiring, assemblies, and all kinds of technical jargon for a charge of $150. I declined. I brought my Electrolux home and it was obvious they never even opened it. Apparently they have a standard script of issues they read to the customer to justify a $150 repair. They weren't interested in what I knew needed repair. I can get close to a new vacuum for that amount. On top of that when I called back to question this, they argued with me over the phone, saying why am I bothering them if I'm not getting it fixed? They didn't even want to discuss my concerns. Very rude and started yelling. Unbelievable lack of customer service. Be carful if you have an older Electolux needing service or repair. This is not the authorized repair facility for 2004 or older Electrolux models. You should take it to an Aerus repair facility which is the original Electrolux company and won't rip you off. read more

I've had my Miele resurrected after my cleaning lady killed it a few years ago...zero complaints. Yesterday I brought the vacuum in along with a new HEPA filter I'd purchased from Amazon. I took my vacuum in for repair. It was still under warranty. At first they told me it would be $25 because some part of the repair was not covered by warranty. So I said okay. It turns out they couldn't fix it; so they got the factory to send me a new one. All at no charge to me. They didn't even charge me the $25. read more

This is a GREAT STORE! I came across this website and decided i had to send in a review. I own a retail store and all of our employees beat the heck out of our vacuums. I went through loads of cheap vacuums from big box stores. My Brother told me about this shop. Bruno the owner is great. He set me up with a commercial vacuum that we have had a few years now. The few times I needed minor repairs like a new cord he fixed it right away with no problems. They are always pleasant to deal with and kind. It is so unusual to find someone who is an expert anymore... but these guys know vacuums. read more

I was told that a part would be ordered on the day I dropped off my broken vacuum hose, but it was not ordered for four business days. By the time I was able to vacuum again, it had been almost two weeks, and I don't believe that was necessary. Furthermore, why doesn't a vacuum repair store have loaner vacuums for its customers? read more

The most unethical people whom you will ever met. My vacuum cleaner was and is still under warranty - they wanted me to pay for the repair and to provide them with proof that it was under warranty. When I refusd to pay, they held my vacuum cleaner for months saying that they were waiting for parts. When I ultimately took it back, they did not repair the clean; on the contrary, they did more damage. They even took the serial number plate out. They are thieves. read more

I purchase a vacuum here a year and a half ago was was happy with their service and attitude. BUT BUYER BEWARE. This store convinced me to use their powder carpet cleaner. I used it for a year. My carpets got dirtier and dirtier. They I took large rug in to be clean (they have a 100 year old firm that cleans carpets - that would be Kashian Brothers in Wilmette). The carpet came back smelling of soap. Picture a box of powered soap - like Tide. Bruno from DuPage Vacuum picked the carpet up, I spoke to the man that cleaned the carpet - he said he would rinse it out. Imagine my surprise when Bruno dropped it off and nothing was done. The owner of Kashian Brothers (Doug) said they can't smell anything and he is not spending any more time on it. Bruno of DuPage Vacuum refuses to get involved even though I paid DuPage Vacuum and never knew who he had cleaning my carpet until there were problems and Bruno bowed out and refused to get involved. read more

Took in my Dyson vacuum due to my error. I had the vacuum on the counter getting out the threads that had wrapped around the beater bar and I dropped it. It didn't work. A small plastic piece attaching the filter had broken off and it didn't suck. I took it to Dupage Vacuum and like all the other reviews was given a "tour" of all the other high end vacuums they sell while telling me all they see are Dyson's. I never heard of the German vacuums which were touted. Well they checked out my vacuum and told me it was clogged, the filter would be cleaned. $160.00 yes. I go to pick it up and the filter on the front was just sitting on the vacuum. They never repaired the broken piece. I advised them of it and it took all of 5 minutes to fix. Don't really know what they did but I can tell you this was one time I just know I was ripped off. I'm sorry but $160 for a clogged vacuum. Never again. read more
