I just had a conversation with the owner, George, about why no one has gotten back to me from all my texts. His reply was, "Yes, we texted you that it was done." I asked why no one has gotten back to me after more than a week of "texting him back"?... Only to have him tell me (in a tone both condescending and insultingly) that "He doesn't know whose website I was looking at, because he can ASSURE ME IT DOESN'T STATE THAY ANYWHERE ON HIS WEBSITE. " (George, please see the picture below, where it states it not once, but TWICE!!!) I see another person called them out on it in reviews, as well. They may be wonderful in fixing vacuums, but someone needs to grab the reigns there and instill some customer "service". They've now had my vacuum for about a month. Best service! I brought in my vacuum because it was making a loud noise. I thought it needed a cleaning and a new belt so she suggested a great groupon deal. While they were cleaning/working on it, I was able to take home a free loaner vacuum for the meantime. She called often to keep me up to date on it's progress and check pricing before changing anything. Then, a piece was broken so she helped me check if it was under warranty and they got me a brand new vacuum for free! Best service ever 10/10 recommend. read more

They will sales your property I received this invoice, and responded with option to pay via phone with my work schedule.  2 days later my son was hospitalized from a S.A. resulting from unknown schizophrenia, which he needed life saving surgery. I have the documents to verify this. Over the last few months our family has been balancing in patient treatment work and business. In years of working with your facility, never have we been aware of a policy to sell our property. In our customer history, it is visible that we are not abandoning our property. It is very stressing that our property is missing, most likely sold.  As a return customer this is extremely, upsetting We paid $600 For our vacuum and owed $250, which I tried to pay the day I dropped of my Dyson to be cleaned, I was told to pay later. I have never taken a vacuum to be repaired before. I would just toss them out. How dumb! Naperville Vacuums does a great service. Took my Dyson in only to find out that I should clean the roller. Duh! But he was very professional, friendly and helpful. Only charged a nominal fee for the cleaning and showed me what he did. They also have nice used vacuums at a reasonable price. If you're driving along Ogden Ave and happen to take a glance at a storefront with an armada of vacuum cleaners out front, you have reached vacuum nirvana. I always thought that if you needed a vacuum, you went to Target, Wal-Mart, or used the 10% off coupon from Bed, Bath & Beyond. If you want a dissertation on the art and science of vacuums, come to this place. For a little more than you will pay for your Dirt Devil @ Target or some other big brand at Wal-Mart, you can come here and get a refurbished industrial strength carpet cleaning monster. I wandered in here after my old POS from Big Box Store X died. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised by a selection of nothing but vacuum cleaners. I mean, I thought these places died when the global industrialization movement took place 10 years ago. An honest to goodness vacuum store? Yes, indeed. They have everything from cheapo plastic apartment vacuums to the $1500 floor vacuum that only will suit the finest homes along the Riverwalk. I opted for a refurbished Hoover Industrial Windtunnel model. This isn't the Windtunnel they sell elsewhere, this beast can power a go-cart. I could probably figure out a way to measure suction, but I'll leave it to the experts here to tell me what to buy. For $150, I have an industrial strength machine that works incredibly well. I went in here today for service on a plebeian, 20-year old Panasonic canister vacuum that was having problems. Nothing fancy, but I really needed to get some cleaning done and the dusty bunnies on my staircase were beginning to cast shadows! The woman behind the counter, Christy, acknowledged me right away and I ended up, after only a half an hour, walking out the door with my my vacuum cleaner all put back together and doing its thing. The guy in the back, William, was competent, friendly and explained what the problem was. He's a vacuum cleaner repair genius. I have no experience to share about sales or warranty service. Like many other common household things, vacuum cleaners have become pricey and very fancy. This place has got everything from the common to the chic, quiet Miele models. In my next house, I think that I would gravitate towards a central vacuum system with PVC runs and generous outlets. We have central air conditioning, heat and central Internet capability in the form of Wi-Fi. Why not make the plunge into central vacuuming capability to make that nearly everyday task easier and more enjoyable, perhaps? I would definitely recommend Naperville Vacuums to anybody with a repair issue and would happily return there again some day. read more

After buying vacuums from a big box store about every couple years, I decided it was time to get an expert opinion about what I needed. The owner is very knowledgeable and helped me find a fantastic vacuum cleaner, let me know what I needed to maintain it, and what was best for what I needed. The shop ranges from Dirt Devils to extremely high-end vacuums. This time, I opted for a Riccar, a very nice, lightweight vacuum. I paid more than your regular Hoover vac, but I know it's guaranteed, know when I need to bring it in for service, and know who to talk to if there is a problem. The owner and staff are very knowledgeable and take time to help you find what you need. I'm very pleased with my purchase and my service. On another note, RugMedic.com and Giada Michael Flooring Co. are also associated with Naperville Vacuums. (They are all next to each other and owned by the same person, a local Naperville resident.) While I have never used Giada Michael Flooring Co. for anything, I have used RugMedic.com on several occasions to have carpeting done in my home. Each time, the carpet was done quickly and precisely. I really liked that the installers made sure their shoes were clean when entering my house as to not track in dirt, etc. I'm pleased with the service and products I have purchased and would highly recommend both Naperville Vacuums and its affiliated services/companies. read more

Best description would be "half-assed". The installer didnt have carpet padding so Jorge decided tobuse my old carpet as padding. Didnt ask, just used it and assumed id be good with the uneven feeling while walking over the repair spot. The only positive was that they showed up within their appt window (9:50 for an 8-10 window). Additionally Jorge wanted to charge an extra $75 over what i was quoted. I questioned and he immediately pointed the finger at "that girl who answers the phone" doesnt explain "travel and supplies". First, i gave her my address, so travel clearly should have been in her quote. Second, WHAT SUPPLIES??? THEY USED MY OLD CARPET RATHER THAN CARPET PADDING!!!! I would not use them again. read more

Run! Took carpet for my boat to replace a 10 inch binding. Said that it would be $125 but that it would be done in 10 days to two weeks. Due to a lack of time we agreed to pay the exorbitant fee. After more than a month it still was not done. We were told he didn't have a lot of incoming carpet jobs to bundle it with. He then said it would normally be $200 but he was doing us a favor and saving us money. We picked it up, took it elsewhere and they did it for $10. He operates under many company names. We thought we were going to the Rug Medic but that is not what is on the building. Beware! read more

I did not have a good experience at Naperville Vacuum. The owner is rude, and refuses to cover anything under warranty although my vacuum was just 2 years old, and came with a 5 year warranty. My vacuum stopped working after normal use at home, and the owner automatically blamed that on me without hesitation, and would not even consider trying to get the parts or labor covered under the warranty they should be covered under. I think these people are greedy and are looking to take advantage of whoever they can. The customer is never right. It's degrading and frustrating. The customer service aspect is also lacking because they do not call you with updates on how long they are keeping your vacuum for "repairs," and did not offer a loaner to me while they kept my vacuum for over 2 weeks! In addition, my "repaired" vacuum stopped working again just one month later. When I took it back in for repairs, again, it was my fault and not covered under the company's warranty or under the service plan I purchased with Naperville Vacuums specifically to cover instances like this. Bottom line, I won't be shopping here again, and would urge you to find a place that treats people like they enjoy and appreciate having them as customers instead of victims to steal from. read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE! We used the Rugmedic part of this business. Absolutely no customer service skills. We hired them (the preschool I work for) to repair a carpet in our toddler room and they no-showed many times, came without their equipment another and even had to run to the store one time. When they did finally repair the carpet, it was more than quoted and didn't even last a week. They think a toddler searched out the seam and pulled it back out! They came back to repair it and told us never to vacuum the carpet again. This repair didn't work either and they will only come back if we pay more. The owner George is very rude and offered us the number to the Better Business Bureau and told us to get in line! read more

We had flooded basement & we contracted them for ALL work, including removing/tthrow away all padding, extracting water from carpet and renstalling/steching the the existing carpet. We had a horrible good experience.They did such a bad job that their crew which they sent to get the dry carpet re-streched said: carpet is damaged and can not be re-installed without buying NEW carpet.!!. The crew renstalled half of the padding and then left for good.After repeated calling, THE LAED CREW GUY ANSWERED THAT HE QUIT !!! We waited more than 2 weeks and now have hired other party to finish the job. We think these people are greedy and are looking to take advantage of whoever they can. The customer is never right. I took my vacuum to Naperville Vacuums to get repaired. Shortly after entering the Shop I learned that all I needed was a brush roller for my vacuum. After having them replace the brush roller and clean out the dirt cup I found myself paying a hefty $75.00 bill. After leaving the shop I had realized I had made a big mistake by taking my vacuum to this shop to get repaired. After arriving home I went online to price a brush roller for my vacuum and found the same exact roller they put on my vacuum for $26.00 where I paid $40.00 at Naperville Vacuum. I also noticed the shop sold their belts at $8.00 ea. and online I found a set of 2 belts for $7.00. I had learned a valuable lesson and will order my parts online from now on before ever going to another repair shop. I hope whoever reads this will do the same before they make a big mistake like I did. read more

Ok so few months ago I contacted Dyson regarding my vacuum cleaner they were so nice and because it was out of warranty they said they would put a one time warranty and told me to take it to my nearest vacuum repair shop first they sent my work order to a shop in Chicago. I asked them if there was another location they said there was one in Naperville so because I go to work that way it was more convenient. Whey I get to The repair shop the gentlemen was not polite from the beginning he turned on my vacuum cleaner and right away said that the motor was bad and that Dyson would not pay for that. He told my my vacuum was abused and had water damage like I said he was really ignorant. I asked him if he would contact Dyson with the problems and if I can leave the vac at his shop. He said he can email them but if I left my vacuum there it would be useless and that he would just throw it the garbage really I just couldn't believe the words that were coming out of his mouth. After pretending that he emailed them and waiting for a response he magically got one right at closing time witch was 5:00 pm. What a liar! How can I ever trust any repair guy ever ? After I left his shop I immediately emailed Dyson and told them about my experience they were shocked they told me they would pay for shipping both ways so I can send my Dyson directly to them in Schaumburg Illinois they fixed the issues and I had it back within a week and a half shockingly they found no water damage and the motor was and is fine and it runs better then ever. read more

Nick showed us how to replace a belt on a model we were considering. Allison, the Assistant Manager, thoroughly explained our options and answered all of our questions. Best part was being able to test run models before we purchased one! You don't get that experience via Amazon. I drove 35 minutes to get to this shop after talking to a young woman on the phone, indicating I would be there in the next 2 hours. I arrive and am told that ALL the technicians are on lunch break. Really?!? I reminded the young woman that I had called earlier and that I was not given any indication that NOBODY would be there when I arrived. And, who in their right mind schedules lunch breaks so every technician is out at the same time? Idiots. I leave my vacuum and ask the young woman to have the technician call me when they return from lunch (which she said would be in an hour). I get NO PHONE CALL. I call back at 4:55pm and talk to the owner, who says there is nothing wrong with my vacuum - I just had it on the lowest setting. So, I return the next day (another hour+ trip), get my vacuum and bring it home and put it on the highest setting. It still won't work. I then call the company again and speak to a technician who record of my vacuum having been in the shop and cannot help me AT ALL. Bottom line - don't waste your time or money with this place. read more

I like to shop local, but this place made me think I should get my vacuums from bed bath and Beyond from now on. The store is dirty and everyone there is uninviting and mean. I have to say as a small business owner, I've never been more turned off by the way I was treated. I wish I would have checked yelp before my wife dropped off our 3 year old electrolux for repair here. Our vacuum wouldn't turn on after running in another room, and switching outlets. My wife dropped it off for repair since naperville vacuums is listed on Electrolux's website as an authorized sales/service center. She got a call back after about a week, and George the owner said it had some bad components and wasn't worth fixing. He stated they can give a credit, and offered to sell her a new unit. She said she would come in to check out some new units. I didn't see how it was possible to not be worth fixing since it was in excellent shape, so I called and asked specifically what was wrong with it, and he told me the hepa filter was clogged, and it fried to circuit boards, and that the wand was bad (which we had 2 of since electrolux sent one for a previous issue under warranty, and they both worked!!), and the carpet cleaning attachment was also bad. For one, the carpet attachment wasn't even being used when the vacuum malfunctioned so I knew something wasn't right with his "diagnosis". But before I even got to speak, he said my wife authorized it to be recycled and was coming in to buy a new one. I told him I needed to see all the old parts, and that's when he said it was in pieces, that they basically rip them apart and get 5 cents for motors from junk guys. I told him my wife didn't mention that she authorized it, just that it was an option, and that I still needed to see that parts. He said he needed some time to get the parts together and had to dumpster dive for the parts.....or probably what he needed to do was actually tear the unit apart before I got there. When I got there, I saw the bin of parts left over. He handed me an estimate for a bad wand and 2 circuit boards, totaling $240. He said he emailed my wife the estimate....which he did not actually do. The thing that was missing from the estimate was the carpet attachment. I asked him about it, and he said he tested it himself and it was bad. I did see a dirty hepa filter, but it was nowhere near clogged, dirty yes, clogged as he said, NO. As a mechanic I told him I had a hard time seeing how 3 things went bad all at the same time. I asked him to test the carpet attachment for me. He seemed reluctant but when we went back and he finally tested it, it WORKED PERFECTLY. He tried it several times, then said it was an intermittent problem. B.S. I then asked to have him test the wand since it was the majority of the estimate at $179. He wouldn't do it and kept changing the subject. Then we go round and round about putting circuit boards in it, and changed his original estimate from $60 on the estimate to $100....for labor he says. Hmmm, then after asking to test the wand again, he said he's going to call my bluff and asked if I really want it fixed. I said yes, that's why it's here. Then he raised the price for the 2 circuit boards to $140....more labor!!!!!??? Really, then printed a waiver he wanted me to sign saying if it didn't work he wasn't responsible. So, I don't agree to that, and AGAIN, for the about 7th time ask to have the wand tested and he said he has to leave and didn't have time for this, it was 20 min past 6 and they closed at 6. So I have to come back the next day. I take pics of the wand so he doesn't tamper with it. The next day I get there and he asks what needed to be done to fix situation, and I said I want my vacuum back as it was when I brought it in and I would be willing to pay for the circuit boards. I wanted all damaged parts fixed. He said he couldn't do that, since my wife authorized it, and again I said she did not! Then he talks me into getting a new unit at "cost". He started out his "cost" at $350 for a vacuum listed at $450. I didn't like that and he went down to $300. I took the bait and wish I didn't. Electrolux had the vacuum on their site for $350, so his markup is extremely high on all vacuums! I should have taken my bin of parts and bought a new vacuum from a reputable place, but wasn't thinking clearly. I filed a claim with Better Business Bureau, which they of course aren't members of. I called electrolux to report the business, and what happened. I think at least they should remove him from their site as a certified seller/repair center. I have since asked for proof of his cost for the vacuum I purchased and what I paid for, and if I didn't actually get it at cost, wanted the difference since. He's obviously a greedy, un trustworthy person. I wouldn't ever give this place any business if it's for sales, service, rug cleaning, ANYTHING!! He's obviously not a person of good character, so I can only imagine how many other people he's cheated, and lied to. I have a feeling our vacuum would have been an easy fix. He probably planned to sell it as a refurb. I have never been so badly treated and lied to ever! I can only hope he goes out of business read more

The owner, George, assisted my husband as he was dropping off our vacuum to be fixed (I dropped it). Of course it wasn't just a "ok we'll fix it" this George man listed all the other things that were wrong with the vacuum and suggested my husband should have it fixed. So my husband agreed. here is where it all goes wrong, admittedly, my husband did not ask the cost, but more importantly, the OWNER did not offer the price. we pick it up the next day and the girl behind the counter says we owe $207. I almost died!!!! The girl saw our shock and stated "the technician always gives the price before they do the work" My husband stated "we talked about the other work that was needed, but no prices were given" Then George comes over, recognized my husband and was like "what's wrong" My husband stated "you never told me the price of all this extra work" This George guy then goes on and on about how we have never put a dime in this vacuum and it really need this work, then pulls out a binder showing all the prices..... well George, where was this price book when you were telling my husband he needed all this work done? I can not believe how rude he was. They pride themselves on customer service.... I don't think so. Then he said "I can take the new parts out and put your dirty old ones back in--- ill eat the labor cost to do that". I beg your pardon..... how about "my mistake, I am the owner, I failed to tell you the cost yesterday, how about I pay half" That is what someone should say when they think they provide customer service. Again, we should have asked for the price up front, but if store policy is to tell the cost up front (as per what the girl at the front desk said) then the store and certainly it's owner should live up to that. he didn't even apologize for not telling my husband the price yesterday. arrogant and rude. please don't use these people.
