I visited their new location this morning. It's kind of hidden but I had no problem finding them. When you walk in, it's basically an office with a desk in front of the door. I just needed a key made for my bike rack. The nice lady went in the back and made me one. She said they're still in the process of moving things in and organizing. Their old place off Mill St had safes and things you can shop for while you waited. Their new place is set up different. The parking in this new place is a lot nicer. I kind of like old mom and pop businesses. They seem more personable and Dunseath Key has always been nice to me. The key the lady made was a little tight on the lock, but after wiggling it a bit, it worked. I offered to pay but she insisted that I just take it for free. They are so nice. I'll continue to give them my business because they are just good people. read more

I've been using this company for years and years. I've followed them to their new location. All I can say is WOW! It's so nice to deal with a company that has been running the same family business for such a long time. From Bonnysue Moss with her lovely personality to Mike Moss and Brian Christie a senior technician. I've had a brass master lock since I was 14 that was given to me by my father. I used to use it for my bicycle.I brought it in because I forgot the combination and it had sentimental value to me. I'm now 70. I had them come out to rekey my house. The tech that came out was both friendly and professional, and went beyond the rekeying to making sure that the doors latched easily and securely. He did have to replace one of the door latches (it had been problematic for a few years), but only charged me the hardware cost to replace it. Overall, I paid about what I expected to pay, and received excellent service. read more

Extremely rude and unprofessional customer service. The lady claimed she was the wife of the owner and continued to belittle me over the phone as I questioned for services, not rendered when scheduled. I understand accidents happen and schedules get mixed up, but to take no accountability and argue with a customer really leaves a bad taste in my mouth. For this reason loan, I will not be patronizing this establishment and would recommend others to seek out alternatives in the area as there are plenty. read more

Only place I'll go now. Had an amazing experience. I had a broken steel key for my motorcycle and nobody in town would help. I was told it would ruin there key machine. But Dunseath cut the key in less than a minute. Fair price and quality work. I had no issues with both keys they cut for me. They took a key that snapped and made me two perfect copies. I brought my safe in because it was missing the keys. I was told that I would have someone call me in a couple of weeks to see if they could make keys for this safe. So I waited but did not get a call back so I called. The person who answered told me that she would call me back so I waited again. I waited a week then called them. This time they told me that they couldn't make keys for it but that they could possibly try to remove the whole lock and replace it. That it would cost under a hundred dollars. I decided to not have the work done. Which was a good thing because I went to a different place and had keys made for a whole lot less and the work was done within an hour. read more

I have to write this review because I've done business with Dunseath many times, and it's always friendly and fair service. This past experience, the service I was given was simply outstanding. As a business manager, I have had several experiences with various locksmiths, and none that are really great that I've experienced closer to home. I went to Dunseath on a word of mouth recommendation, and I've gone back everytime since. Okay, so here's why I'm now a dedicated customer; First off, the business owner, Mike Moss, has always personally done the work I needed. He helped me to find a roll top safe, but my funds were limited, so I couldn't afford to pick up a new one. Dunseath rebuilds and resells safes. He found me the perfect one and it was under my budget limit. Yay. Second, my key was getting stuck in the entrance door, and I could not get it out for the life of me. I called and asked if they could repair it. They told me I didn't need a repair person immediately, and they gave me instructions over the phone on how to get my key out with no problem. No charge. It worked and I didn't have a service charge. Later, when they came out to change some other locks on my building, they tightened the lock, again, no charge for that particular work because I was already paying a service visit for another item. I've turned to them when I needed re-keying for my business, again when I re-keyed my house, I've purchases two safes through them, and they have installed some security features for my home. Can't say great enough things about Dunseath Key Company! My dad was in the locksmith profession 20 years ago and now will only go to these guys in Reno. We've had countless good experiences with them and there's no doubt they will always do a good job. Their customer service is very classically no-frills (in a good way!). Very friendly and helpful but not at all in your face or overdone. My last encounter was changing 5 locks and creating 25 numbered keys. It took Brian all of 8 minutes total, was a very decent price, and he even taught me a bit about keysmithing while doing it. I CANNOT say enough great things about this company! As a business owner, I have to fire people who have keys, access to my business. All I do is call these guys and they come out the same day. They're protecting my business which is HUGE with me. When they come out? No matter how many months pass by, they know EXACTLY what to do. I don't have to babysit, and they are SUPER efficient. I have been to Dunseath several times since moving here in 1968 and have had great experiences every time. Friendly, courteous, welcoming, and worth every penny. At least 3 times I have walked in with a problem I was sure could not be fixed and it was done within minutes. From a locked steamer trunk without a key, to a truck bed tool box also without a key, to a padlock. This is what you think of with a family owned and operated business. Hate to give away a good secret in town, but these guys are great. I've had them make keys several times for me and they always work, first time around, no going back again and again because they didn't work. Today I phoned to see if they could help me with a lock issue I was having on my motorhome. They told me to bring her right in. When I got there they came out in the hot weather and helped me. It just so happened that my husband and I were the knuckleheads on this issue (they didn't say that of course). When I asked what I owed he told me nothing. Nothing for someones time? Amazing & Good Business. This is a no frills kind of place and they know their stuff. They even told me how I could save some money on another issue, by removing the lock and bringing it to them. What a great company! These people are the real deal and true locksmiths. They provide honest quality work with regular locks and also electronic access as well. I came for both and they delivered. I had some problems with the software and they fixed it right up and trained me up as well so it worked. It has been a long time since I have been to such a nice place where integrity, honesty and respect for the customer is the first job they do before anything else. We have had to use them a number of times,for a business, after break n attempts as well as locks just plain not working. One time we had them come out to teach us how to use our electronic lock that we had bought elsewhere (never again, btw, the other company printed their instructions incorrectly.)
