I came for an inspection. Asked them to put new plates on and the registration etc. The waiting room is large. Masks required. But they have one of those vestibule entrances where there are 2 doors. In between that space was someone without their mask worn properly. You'de think by now people know better. The inspection went well. The employees are super pleasant here. It's an easy place to come to, they are right near Delaware and Hertle. 3 stars for this large chain. I default chains to 3 stars as they must be A-OK to expand as they have. First visit this month last week needed breaks, the brakes were fine but it took 5 hours, with an appointment. Second visit was for tires today, had an appointment for 3 pm, was there at 2:45 said it would be 1 and a half hours. Well 2 and a half hour later we finely got the truck off the rack. Worst part is they had CNN on the TV and boy does it burn me up to have to listen to CNN's bias BS. Harris spewing garbage on a loop for 2 and a half hours will make anyone with a brain hostile. I always seem to have a good experience here. My service was a simple tire change. It took a little over an hour. I had a choice of dates and the staff is friendly and informative. Stopped by after my inspection had lapsed. I knew i needed tires, so that's why I had them do the inspection. I have always had good service and fair pricing the half dozen or so times I have gotten tires there. They said it needed brakes and they'd fail inspection without. Quoted very high price. Didnt seem right. Told them I would pass and drive without the sticker. Took to a trusted mechanic and all the brakes were completely fine. Had a unusual project for the folks at Dunn Tire! I had a 1980 Jeep Cj5 which was set up for racing! Long rear studs and wide rims! The Mickey Thompson drag radials had a bit of cord showing and I wanted to go back to a performance street tire! After a bit of back and forth we decided on a Cooper Cobra Radial GT white raised letter out! Once the correct tools were found to get them off, smooth sailing from there! Went to Dunn tire yesterday to purchase 4 new all-weather Goodyear tires for my car. Goodyear is running a special rebate promotion for $200 back on the tires I selected if you open a Goodyear credit card, so I went for it. I filled out paperwork with sensitive personal identifying information on it, in addition to the newly issued credit card number. After the work was finished, I was told to keep the paperwork until the credit card arrives in the mail, and then shred the document. I was then handed a bundle of papers folded up inside the tire and service program folder. Assuming I had everything in the bundle, I thanked them and left. The same day, upon trying to start my rebate process I realized that Dunn tire had neglected to return to me the credit card application with all of my personal identifying information on it. I panicked as it was after store hours so I was unable to contact them by phone, and worried all night that they had misplaced this important slip of paper and my information would be compromised. I returned promptly at opening the next morning, spoke to the employee who handled my service about the missing paper and was told it's inside at the desk. Someone else working the desk said it was set aside for me "if I came back in to get it". Why was I not called immediately when they realized they had forgotten to give me this important paper?? I am relieved to have it back, but furious that I wasn't contacted by the desk that they still had it, as it is something I need not only for my rebate, but also that I don't want getting lost and falling into the wrong hands. I consider this a failure of customer service. While I was treated with courtesy while completing my transaction, I find this mistake to be unacceptable. I have never written a bad review but I feel compelled to report this incident as it caused me great distress, and I didn't even receive an apology or explanation when I went to resolve the issue myself. I wasn't even angry that they had forgotten to put the caps back on my new valve stems that I had purchased along with the new tires when they installed them. Dunn Tire tire specialists find phantom problems with a car and its tires. Case in point: 1. Took for NYS inspection and tire rotation in June 2020. They claimed the car needed $800 in repairs to pass inspection. I told them not to do anything. Took it elsewhere and paid $200. One of the parts that Dunn claimed deficient was brand new. 2. Took it to Dunn to check for slow leak yesterday. They claimed I had to replace all 4 tires. Took car elsewhere. Tire in question was repaired for $27.19. Mechanic said the tires are in great condition. Verdict: If you're a millionaire, like the owner of this company, keep taking your vehicle(s) to Dunn Tire. I ran over a big bolt and had to replace my front tires. Dunn Tire carries both of my favorite tire brands: BFGoodrich (my first choice) and Kelly. They didn't have my size in stock in BFGoodrich, but they did have Kelly. I used to own a tire store and know my tires. The sales person did not know that Kelly used to be Kelly-Sprinfield. Anyway. They had to get the tires from their Buffalo warehouse and they called me when they came in. I brought my car in at the appointed time for tires, oil change, and wheel alignment. They called when everything was completed. The tire price was competitive. They were installed and balanced properly. The wheel alignment was PERFECT! The wheel alignment person deserves a pat on the back, because getting it dead on is not an easy thing even with the latest equipment and training. This store is on bus routes #11, 23, and 25, which makes it very handy to drop your car off and go places while they work on your vehicle. read more

It's great that Dunn Tire offers free tire rotations on the tires that you purchase from them. However once you purchase the tires and try to get your "free" rotation you get the complete run-around. I am at the Main Road and Transit location in Clarence and I'm being told now the wait could be two hours for a rotation. Made an online appt. for my sons car to have 4 tires put on. Went to McKinley location where the appt. was made. They said they had no record of an appt. being made. I showed them the confirmation email and they still denied they had any record of the appt. They stated that they do not run the website and are not responsible for it. I took my car to Dunn Tire in West Seneca. I was initially quoted a cost of over $115 to take off my summer tires and put on my winter ones. Last year, I bought both my winter tires and wheels thru Dunn Tire. When I went to check out, my bill came to ZERO dollars because I had purchased my tires thru Dunn! They're a solid shop I've only had a few problems there but they've always corrected it I had something that we couldn't figure out what shop or even if it was a done tire that over tighten my wheel The following season after some bargaining with them we ended up splitting the cost. I was told this week at Dunn Tire that I needed new brakes to pass my inspection, not having money for it on the spot I made an appointment with a different mechanic closer to me for new breaks and inspection. Terrible service on a number of accounts. They invoiced me incorrectly and I'm glad I questioned it! They were over charging me. Then it took two hours of wait time to simply put on my snow tires. Then they claimed to have followed the manufacturers spec on air pressure for the tires but when I left the car was pulling to the right. I went back and they didn't want to check the tires they said they were perfect. I had to tell the worker three times too just check the air in the tire because it was pulling to the right. I hate getting a flat tire, but I do love coming to Dunn Tire. The staff is always very friendly and obviously knowledgeable about tire repairs as well as other normal car service questions. They do not try to hard sell you on the crazy expensive tires and their online appointment system is a breeze. They are generally able to do most items while you wait and don't tie your car up the entire day. I love how Dunn guarantees all of their tires and you also get free rotations for life. I will continue to come back any time i have a flat or need new tires, hopefully not anytime soon. read more

After running over a nail and developing a slow leak, I took my tire here to get it repaired. They were friendly at first and told me that they would take a look at it and get back to me. A couple hours later they called me back and informed me that it could not be repaired and would need to be replaced. My landlord wanted me to get a second opinion because he was paying for the replacement (since he left the nails in the driveway). When I went back to pick up the tire from Dunn, I found out that they never even took the tire off the rim. My landlord took the tire elsewhere where it was easily repaired. I have put 4,000 trouble-free miles on the tire since then. In summation, I think that Dunn Tire was trying to rip me off by selling me a new tire that I did not need. They were also very rude when I went to pick the tire up. read more

Dunn Tire really went above and beyond to help me out of a sticky situation. I had a completely flat tire, and of course every gas station's air compressor was out of order. My tire had gotten so low that I had to stop and pull over as my car was shaking. I don't have AAA, and I didn't pay close enough attention in driver's ed when I was 16 so I don't know how to put my spare tire on. I called Dunn Tire and asked if they offered any roadside assistance or could put me in touch with someone who did. Dunn Tire sent two employees out to change my tire free of charge! I didn't even have an appointment with them. They're a lifesaver! Additionally, I needed to replace my other tires on my car. They never made me feel pressured to purchase additional products or services, and I was very comfortable discussing my vehicle situation with them. Their waiting area was clean and nice, and they offer coffee, water, and juice while your car is being serviced. I will definitely come back to Dunn Tire for repairs. read more

This is the second time I've been here and I've been quite pleased both times. The first time I was getting my tire stems replaced because I was loosing a lot of air and this time I needed to replace a flat tire. Both times I got an oil change while I was at it. Unfortunately they didn't have the tire I needed today (it isn't made anymore) but they suggested a local competitor where I might be able to get it, and said if I couldn't find it there, Dunn Tire could order it from a site I'd found it on online. I came to Dunn Tire to get 2 new tires. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the workers at the counter. They were all personable and friendly. They took down necessary information to get the tires installed. Then, they directed me to the waiting area. The waiting area was so comfortable. They had nice, comfortable seats and a TV to watch while you wait. They also have a mini fridge filled with mini water bottles and juice and of course, coffee. Oh! and they have wifi, too! My car was ready to go within the hour or so. However, I definitely would not have minded if service was slow. The time really flew by while I was there. I also want to mention that they did not try to add extra fees when it was time to pay. They even asked if I had AAA membership, so they can give me a $10 discount. I paid ~$183 for 2 basic tires, which included installation, mounting, and other lifetime maintenance needs. read more

The newer location on Delaware is very nice, with a spacious waiting room. They were able to order and have tires ready for me, and offered competitive prices. I originally went to Dunn Tire in November due to a good deal on tires. I also needed an oil change and an inspection, so I figured might as well do them all at once. I get a call the next day stating that everything was done however, I failed inspection. Quite confused how I could of failed, the gentleman on the phone tried selling me on some package on how to fix "everything" that was wrong. It added up to $1300. I passed and said I'd rather get a second opinion. Part of this bill was needing new front brakes and rotors. I knew how to do that myself so I went to install them. They were perfectly fine and are within NYS code. I replaced them regardless. Two days later I went right down the road to their competitors and passed inspection with flying colors. They heard that a ton of people were failing inspection and Dunn Tire was attempting to tell them they needed thousands of dollars of repairs to pass. Fast forward to this month. I was driving and punctured something in my tire. I gave them a call due to them installing the tires. They said they'd fix it for free if it could be patched due to me buying it there. I said while my car is there, could I please get an oil change. They guy said no problem we've got you set for a 9am appointment. Dropped my car off the night before. At 8:41am the next day the called me. Told me that I should get new back brakes and rotors and an alignment. He tried selling me on some package. I told him no to the brakes because I knew they were fine, but I was ok with the alignment as I hadn't gotten one in a while. I get a call an hour later saying my car was ready. I went to pick it up and was told the total. I asked if that also included the oil change. The gentleman started to ruffle through the papers and realized it was "written down" so it wasn't done. I was set off immediately. Something I asked them to do, they couldn't do. However, they can call me first thing in the morning and SELL ME ON THINGS I DON'T NEED. Scam artists to the max. I will never return to this location or Dunn in general. Their only concern is if they can make money off random things they "find" wrong with your car. read more

I had to get my inspection done, figured anywhere could do it so I made an appointment here. After about 2 hours, they called me back to say my car had failed inspection. They told me I needed full brakes and rotors and it would cost $1500. I had gotten my brakes done 6 months ago so I told them I'll take my car back and get a second opinion. I took it to my normal mechanic (out of town so it wasn't my first option) who told me absolutely nothing was wrong and I passed inspection with flying colors. Do not go to this location. As a driver in Buffalo, I visit Dunn Tire frequently. I've never had flats until I moved into the city. Dunn Tire offers great warranties including tire replacement. Assuming that you live in Buffalo, TAKE THE WARRANTY. Potholes nails, screws, etc. have taken a toll on my tires and the warranties have saved me a bit of money! I once had a tire replaced after buying a new one months before because a pothole ripped holes into the side of my tire. Dunn Tire replaced it for free because there was barely any wear on the tread (for the free warranty). They now let you upgrade so you can get free replacement when an incident happens (even when the tread wears down). Their new location on Delaware has a nice waiting area with free wifi. You can also book appointments online which is what I prefer. I've always had positive experiences with the employees at this location so I continue to visit this one. read more

Terrible customer service. I bought a set of snow tires for about $800. Four days later one of the tires was down 10 pounds of pressure. My wife brought the car back on a Saturday (one week after the installation) to have the problem fixed. The problem was a leaking stem. My wife was charged $7 for the repair. My wife pointed out the recent tire purchase and installation, but was told that Dunn tire had not touched the stem and they were not obliged to fix the problem free of charge. As if the "responsibility" for a $7 repair should matter to a shop interested in taking care of its customers! I was astonished at this lack of customer service - quibbling over $7? I called and talked to the manager the Monday after the stem was replaced. He defended the action and grudgingly agreed to reimburse the $7 - no acknowledgement that this was bad customer service. The stem had not been leaking prior to having the snow tire put on and the car is only two years old. It is obviously not the cost that is the issue, but the utter lack of responsiveness to a customer who had just spent that amount of money. I can only guess as to how bad and expensive any future service might be - I won't find out because I won't be returning. read more

Went here twice and both times have been problematic for just an inspection...failed both me and my partner and upcharged the hell out of the things that were "broken". Went to get a second opinion at another shop and miraculously passed with nothing wrong with both cars. Beware if you go here for an inspection bc they will fail you on things that arent even supposed to be failed according to New York State and try to get you to pay crazy amounts of money to fix problems that arent even there. After speaking with salesperson, finding tires I need and pricing, etc., I made an appointment for installation. When I got back for that installation, I was told I'd need some "extras". Although the salesperson called the items " suggested", they were actually things that were needed . All if these " suggestions" came at an added proce. I left, without my tires. Make sure when you go to get your tires installed, you are only paying for previously agreed amount. After buying four new tires for my daughter, I found each tire smeared with the yellow grease used to mount each tire. This is what I sent to Dunn Tire Customer Service today: Why do you asked me to make an appointment? I came to the Lancaster NY Walden location on Friday and they told me that I have to wait about 2 hours for the tire rotation. Fair, I did not have appointment. So, I made one for Saturday at 3pm. I came couple of minutes before 3pm. They told me that I have to wait 1.5 hours because they are behind. I am telling you I ma so pissed, and I do not usually use this kind of language. Why do I need an appointment????? This is Saturday!!!! I could of done other important things with my family!!!
