I called Dunn Edwards in Long Beach because I'm looking for paint for my house. A very kind and helpful gentleman walked me through making an appt with the professional Color Advisor, Damien Fern. I met with Damien for a color consultation- free of charge. Damien is amazing. He's so knowledgeable about colors and what colors match. He is also so kind and patient. After I chose some colors, I sent him a picture of my house and he digitally sent me what my house would look like w those paint colors. Wow!!! It was so wonderful. RE: Lakewood Blvd/Long Beach Store They were 30 min away from closing. I needed time to choose colors and have samples made. The staff was incredibly accommodating. I never felt rushed or intimidated as they went about their business of closing down for the night. By the time I chose my colors, had the samples made, and paid, it was slightly after closing and they were still gracious and kind... thanked me for shopping with them and locked the door as I left. Made an appointment to see Michele B. - the Professional Color Advisor at Dunn-Edwards on Lakewood in Long Beach. It was the first time I used a Professional Color Advisor and it was a great experience. Michelle was a good listener and helped me create a paint palette that I was comfortable with. She was helpful, knowledgeable, and very easy to work with. Making the appointment online was also very easy. The store is amazingly large and the staff was very good too. I am glad Dunn-Edwards offers a Professional Color Advisor service and I think, very wise of them to do so, as we are now buying all of our paint from them. Fast and efficient service, and amazing customer service!... If was my first time at their store and I didn't even know what to ask for what I needed, since I was getting some varnish and brushes for my father-in-law who is not American and doesn't speak English, so I was trying to make sense with the details he game me, lol! I tried the same tactic at Home Depot and they didn't pay much attention... So I decided to head to try Dunn-Edwards. The service was night and day different!... Wow! They were attentive, friendly and helped me "crack the code" on my father-in-law's message by asking questions, what we needed those for, etc, etc... All the employees in this store are amazing and friendly. Im painting my house and have to make several trips to the store to get colors. They are great at helping each time. Except this one guy who is crazy, only helped me once and start calling me "employee of the year". If he doenst like customers make several trips to the store, please put a sign outside saying there is a limit to how many times a customer can visit the store and not say weird things to the customers. Im already frustrated w my bf trying to change all my colors and my busy work meetings, and have to deal this crazy. The other guy who helped me 3-4 times is still super friendly and helpful. If he is not happy working there, dont harasse the customer. Talk to your manager please. So annoying. read more

I don't know what's going on with Dunn-Edwards but the three locations closest to me were not open on their Saturday posted times and none of them were open Sunday. This didn't match their posted times on yelp, their website, or their own answering machine recording. This location though was still open on Sunday. The employees here are so friendly and helpful we walked in stressed and walked out feeling great. Wife and I are getting our house exterior painted in a few weeks and we're trying to decide on colors for house, trim, and accents. We had it sort of narrowed down but still, you see 20 shades of white and 20 shades of tan and it's over whelming. The guy at the front let us know they had a free color advisor that's appointment only but if we asked her she might have time. At first I couldn't make heads or tails how to find the color swatches. We found a bunch on the website but couldn't find the "chips", as they call them, on the wall. The guy at the front (didn't catch his name) happily explained the system and after I understood I found the color chips with ease. So after spending 30 minutes looking at color swatches and picking out a stack I saw the color advisor's current customers finally left. I walked over in bewildered state and asked if she's will to see us without an appointment. She said yes! Vuolack "Vee" Noch was her name and she was a lifesaver. She had my wife e-mail her a photo of our house and she was able to digitally paint our house on her computer. She spent I'd say 30+ minutes with us and we went from a stack of colors to two colors for the main house color which we got samples of to test out. She changed the shade of "white" we picked for the fascia to another shade which was even better. She also gave us ideas for the accents (some fake shutters and some box thing around our double windows) that we would have never thought of on our own. We left with a plan that made us both totally excited. I've been dreading this process since day 1 but now I'm actually excited about it. This service is free and I 100% recommend doing this if you're going to be painting. Just make sure to have a photo of your house you can e-mail. Now when our painting date comes we can give the painting company the exact details instead of still being on the fence about it. Thank you! read more

I like the service provided by Vee Noch (Long Beach Color Advisor) for exterior and interior paint design for my house. She was very helpful and knowledgeable in design. She helped me choose bright colors to make my small house look bright and bigger. She also suggested me to get several color paints samples which I tried on my wall. I came back to her several times to find the perfect color; she was very patient and helpful. She also helped me to choose my new floor to match whole house with complimentary colors. Service quality and V the interior designer on staff. I have a 1906 historic home with many design features I wanted to show in a repaint . 8 knew a basic color but was challange with picking the trim colors that would make the house a WOW "V" ,the interior designer on staff , researched and showed me endless options of colors to compliment the base color . Someone at this company had foresight in offering this service . I went home with a selection 9f colors to test out with small samples of the colors I was interested in 8 returned to the store and met with V with pictures of the test samples , I also sent her pictures of the house . We reviewed the sample painting and she took the pictures of the house and showed me what it would look like with the colors we picked . The other staff are very friendly and honest . Our painter used Dunn Edwards paint for the exterior of our house four years ago and the paint is holding up great. We stopped by today to purchase paint for our backyard wall. We were also hoping to purchase sample colors that our painter had used for our house. But, we were told that their system database was down until Tuesday. Very inconvenient considering people typically have home projects on the labor day weekend. Either way, the staff was courteous and helpful. read more

Was promptly greeted by a nice gentlemen with a friendly "good morning." I was offered help by Vee who explained to me the color palette that was in the color that I was about to pick. Her insight helped me decide on a color that was actually more of the look I was going for. She took the time to explain the different finishes too. A true professional and very knowledgeable. So refreshing to see a business improve with time! Great job! 5 stars all around. Original review: So I walk in with my teen to pick out a new color for his room. Literally we are the only people in the store and it's obvious that we need help. We check out the color palettes for a bit. I'd say about 15 minutes go by and not one person asked if we need help even though there's a lady sitting 10 feet away from where we are looking and trying to figure out which paint type we need. So I finally go up to her and tell her we need help. She's like ok I'll be right with you. Just then a gentleman walks in with his kids. Literally she forgets about us and helps him within 15 seconds of when he walks in. So I'm left trying to find another employee to help me. I guess the other guy would give this place 5 stars. The guy who helps me tells me he's from a different store and doesn't know where anything is. I tell him it's ok we'll go to Home Depot for the supplies. Doesn't even say let me get someone who could find what you're looking for. This place leaves much to be desired. So the original lady still never apologizes for just leaving me hanging. Instead she just goes to her desk and chills on her phone as I write this review. The one and only redeeming employee is Danielle who comes out with my paint and politely offers to carry it out to my car. Thank goodness for her. The store is super easy to get to. Nice amount of parking. It's clean on the inside with a wide open floor plan. I went in there asking a million questions and Devone was super helpful. Went here a couple of times for paint and the staff was more than helpful at picking our colors, sharing advice and tips, and they have a cool sample set of paint you can get for a good price. We worked with a painter that had an account there and that made it easier since he ordered it though them so we didn't do that part. Would use again for future paint needs. They also recycled the old paint safety for us. read more

Awesome location with amazing, and caring employees! I had been struggling with an amateur wood working table top project and Richard went above and beyond to ensure i get my desired results. From suggesting stains and finishes to sharing his woodworking knowledge with regards to techniques and how i should approach the process. I even brought my table top to the store multiple times so he could explain in person how i should approach certain situations and he took the time out of his day and to walk me through it! These guys are terrible. Front attendant and the man who is mixing the paint. If i could do 0 score i would. Note: it was NOT busy in here when we were here. Came in for jeff lewis indoor sample paints. 1st they dont carry his new line of paint... just be aware if you are looking for those. (March 2017 post). They messed up our jeff lewis samples (they mixed up samples labeled it the same and on top of they wouldn't even refund us at least 1 mini can bc it was their mistake. We didnt realize we had 2 cans labeled the same when we got home and this place is over 20 min from our house. They didnt even apologize when we called and let them know their mistake. We went all the way back, they guy opened up both cans and tried to tell us its fine that the reAl color is X. -How does he know theres 1000's of colors there. -We just wanted them to redo both so we knew for sure before spending our money and painting our entire inside home the wrong color (both were close shades of grey). -my hubby had to argue to have him re-do it in addition to the guy calling my husband "bro". Seriously?? Not the time or place. A contractor came in and had similar issues and im sure his order was much bigger than our home project. And he likely already painted someones home the wrong color. Not good and soo not cool "bro" Save your money and time and go to another location!! Vee Noch helped us get the color scheme we wanted when we were getting ready to paint our house. We had selected a few combinations but none of them was quite right. Vee suggested a color scheme that we thought would really pop. Sure enough, now that the house is painted, people passing by stop and compliment the colors. Even people driving by have stopped and rolled down the window to shout, "Great colors!" or "It looks fantastic!" All the credit goes to Vee. I'm doing some patch work on our house, and was resolved i'd have to go back a few times for a color match on a time worn area I was working on. I brought in a trim piece to match the fade from the original color. The store seemed busy, but I was acknowledged and helped almost immediately upon entering. They admitted they were busy and the match would take a couple of hours. They took my number for text, and after less than two hours they texted my match was ready. The match was as perfect as I could've imagined. The repair area disappeared as it dried. Great service. Highly recommended. read more
