Mistakes happen, so my roommate politely pointed out that one of them was supposed to be a 32oz. Instead of remaking the drink or putting more rush into it, the barista simply poured it into a larger cup and filled the rest with ice. Normally I wouldn't complain about something minor like a size mix-up, but there's over a $2 price difference between the 24oz and 32oz drinks, so it was disappointing to feel like I didn't actually receive what I paid for.

When we arrived to find them inside a gas station convenience store, we were apprehensive. But, once we made our way inside, we found a cute little coffee counter with a menu full of fun specialty espresso beverages. They simply were hanging online tickets, seemingly deprioritizing them and focusing on filling in person orders. I was aggravated and disappointed as this is not service I have ever experienced with the Sunrise chain. Oakland is always amazing as is Waterville (arguably one of the busier restaurants). It has so much personality! I saw a hand painted painting of the Smush logo in the store and it looked so much better than the sign. If it had more of that I'd be OK with coming back. The place is busy right now, I think, because it's a novelty, but I don't see this eyesore lasting on Main Street if they commit to this look. Considering the damage AI does to ecosystems and how artists are being displaced, I just can't keep supporting them. By 6:45 PM, our food still hadn't come out, and we had to ask for it to be packaged to go so we wouldn't miss a movie across the street. What made this especially frustrating was that there were only two other tables in the restaurant--one already had food, and the other was served while we were still waiting. Because of the delay, our food sat in the car during the movie. When we finally ate later that evening, both macaroni and cheese dishes were extremely disappointing--lacking flavor and ultimately inedible. I brought the soup home to try the next day, and it was just as disappointing. It was mostly potatoes, many of which were undercooked and still crunchy, and I even found what appeared to be a small piece of burnt wood in it. Overall, I spent about $80 on three items that were significantly delayed and very poor in quality. I will say, the ginger cookies were delicious--that was the one highlight. I did reach out privately to give the restaurant an opportunity to respond before posting this review, but did not receive a reply. Really unfortunate experience, especially for a first visit.
