This little cafe is amazing. My boyfriend and I just spent the weekend in Farmington (we're from RI) and I'm a major coffee enthusiast.. this place is amazing!! And the breakfast sandwiches are huge, and delicious. The staff were very kind and attentive even in the chaotic rush. Bought some fresh coffee from a company in ME while I was there too. Will be back if I'm ever in Farmington again! :) read more

Java Joe's Corner Cafe - Double iced campfire latte. Yum! - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Farmington, Maine

The Java Joe Cafe was a small cafe located in the college town of Farmington. The facility was small and filled with regional keepsakes and nick-naks. There were roughly 10 tables set for groups of two. The menu was cafè driven and offered a mix of drip and crafted coffees, bagels and breakfast sandwiches. The staff was present and tentative to the order. The breakfast sandwich (Garlic bagel, egg, bacon and cheese) was ok. The bagel was the only thing that carried any sort of seasoning or flavor. The blueberry bagel was fresh and delicious. The facility was not clean, not well kept. The floors were dirty and the ceiling was filthy. The place is okay in a pinch, but not a frequent visit for us. read more

Needs a damn good cleaning I was searching desperately for a decent cup of coffee and thought this would make the mark based on other reviews. The staff were all friendly but this place was an untidy mess. The toilet was also in need of attention. I wanted to bail, but my need for coffee was great. Sadly the coffee was also disappointing. Bard coffee in Portland is literally the only decent coffee l have found in Maine. Come on people, we can do better. read more

Quick service and amazing staff! All kinds of bagels to choose from and the breakfast sandwiches are delicious. Lots of coffee variety and they even have a wall coffee beans that you can fill and grind right there. If you're in town, definitely stop by. And if you haven't had the garlic herb cream cheese yet stop what you're doing and try it right now! read more

Amazing coffee, amazing service. Perfect atmosphere everything you look for in a small town coffee shop. The Willy Wonkers is a favorite. The bagels are also amazing and their cream cheese selection is very vast. read more

BEST bagel and cream cheese I have ever had!! The onion or cheddar jalapeño bagel with the sweet and spicy cream cheese is the best bagel combo you can ever have!! The people working are amazing, kind, and super fast!! The place is very clean and well organized!!! Highly recommend!!! read more

Great atmosphere, great coffee, great service The bagels have been stale the past three times I've gone. This morning at 730 on october the seventh 2023 my bagel tasted previously frozen and stale. I had it lightly toasted with vegetable cream cheese. Normally a light toast will rehabilitate bread or bagels that are on their way out. Sad to say I will not go back again They've lost a loyal customer read more

Nice little corner cafe with coffees and breakfast sandwiches. The breakfast grand with egg, bacon and cheddar on a garlic veggie bagel was good. Quick service and yummy simple breakfast food. read more

Hipster scene with good coffee and tea. Located in downtown Farmington, this is a great place to meet up for casual business, read the morning paper or socialize with friends. The carabassett coffee selection is diverse with light to dark brews and seasonal flavors such as blueberry and pumpkin spice. The food is limited to breakfast and lunch fare as you would expect with such a cafe. The bagels are fresh and the sandwhiches are tastey. The walls are plastered with local art reflecting western Maine's assets such as sugarloaf and rolling hill landscapes. The place is owned locally and one of three locations. In my opinion, java joes is a much more enriching experience than dunkin donuts or starbucks while offering the same type of fare. The service is very friendly, prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is welcoming. *it should be noted that they don't take credit or debit cards, just cash and possibly local checks. read more

Java Joe's Corner Cafe - Chai tea with cinnamon decoration - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Farmington, Maine

If I have a bad experience at a restaurant once, I go back at least once more incase it was just a bad day. I've been here twice while driving through Farmington. Food isn't great, coffee is terrible and service/attitude of the staff is worse. We will not try again. read more

We usually have decent service there. But, today was less than desirable. First of all, it took longer than usual to get waited on - the two employees seemed more interested in their private conversation and putting dishes away rather than deal with customers. My wife got her coffee cup quickly, I ordered the magna zoom latte. But, the latte never came. I asked where it was after waiting for 4 more customers orders were filled, and was told, "I thought she was making it". Again, their conversation appeared to be more important. I should've asked for my tip back, but I will not be back again. Too bad. read more

The best bagels in town! A cute little coffee & bagel shop in downtown is the perfect spot for a quick breakfast bite to eat!

Great food prices and atmosphere small local quaint best place around for bagel sandwiches

It's all around great. Great food and great atmosphere for sketching, writing, working, and I often see groups of student working together in there. Positive environment. read more

Love this quaint cafe great atmosphere awesome staff. You can buy and grind your own coffee, self serve coffee great everything!!

Java Joe's is frequented by UMF students and Loafers, which makes it a happy and hip place to eat- or at least stop by and pick up some coffee to get you through the final leg of the journey to Sugarloaf. Java Joe's brews a wide variety of Carrabassett Coffee Company and has a good selection of bagels, cream cheeses, breakfast sandwiches, wraps, and sandwiches as well. While I have only gotten food to go, each time I stop in I want to stay to enjoy the ambiance! I'm a sucker for cozy places with friendly faces and Java Joes certainly fits the bill. It may not be as quick as the nearby dunkin donuts, but it has a lot more character and flavor which definitely makes it worth the extra few minutes. Plus you are supporting local businesses! There is an all-day breakfast sandwich special for around 3 bucks, which is pretty dope. Who doesn't want a breakfast sandwich at 3PM? Also, bring your own mug and you will get a free refill. Woohoo for being environmentally friendly! My recommendation: Everything bagel w/ Veggie CC and a cup of the Back Draft blend coffee. Or if you are looking for lunch, their chicken salad is especially delicious. I had it in a garlic wrap w/ lettuce and tomato and it really hit the spot. read more

Real food, made to order with Carabasset Valley gourmet coffee. Charming store front with excellent wait staff who take the time to learn your taste and preferences. Less expensive than the garbage Dunking Donuts sells and the portions are bigger. Support local businesses and stop here next time. Breakfast sandwich on a fresh bagel with a large coffee refill is under $5! I no longer give DD my business. Great job Java Joe's! read more

The best bagels in town, for great quality breakfast and even better coffee! Very nice and respectful employees, which makes every visit even better! read more

This is a coffee shop I desperately want to love. It is in a great location and has a great space. The mix of people and the free wifi make it a place to work and enjoy the day. Every time I am in Farmington I try and stop in to see if the coffee and tea is any better. I'll get a chai and my wife will get a cappuccino. Maybe their regular coffee is better? Today I couldn't even drink my chai. I need to remind myself next time just to get regular tea and remember the coffee shop's limitation. My recommendation is to avoid anything that requires a skill at the cappuccino machine, order something simple to eat, and enjoy the environment of the place. read more

Went here for a bagel on the way to sugarloaf bagel was good not great, cream cheese was amazing!!!

Still not great. Don't go there expecting your coffee fix to be satisfied. Carrabassett Coffee is weak and boring. The only thing that keeps me coming here is their bagels. Super cheap, and their cream cheese spreads are kick ass. read more

This was by far the WORST cafe I've ever been to. My husband and I stopped in on our way up to Sugarloaf. We ordered two sandwiches (cold cuts) and a cup of soup. It took the woman behind the counter 30 minutes to roll together a turkey and lettuce wrap that looked like a 5 year old put together. While we waited, she took all walk in coffee orders which is why our order took 30 minutes!!!!! Terrible service and bad business. We also asked to eat our lunch there but because it took this woman 30 minutes, they were closing by the time we got our orders. She wrapped out food up to go without even asking and put us on our merry way. Eating soup in a car, not a great idea. I ate my wrap in the car and the lettuce was completely brown. All in all, skiers beware. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT stop here for a quick bite. It is not quick and the help is incompetent not to mention the food is extremely overpriced! read more

No longer at 42 Main Street. Couldn't find it then went by it atMain & Church Street. Coffee was good but they didn't have iced Americano due to being winter. It was 36 degrees which is warm compared to 10 recently. Ambiance and work spaces were fantastic. I plan to return. (No comments on food because I did not eat). read more

Java Joe's is my favorite place in Farmington to get coffee, bagels, or a quick lunch. It's the type of friendly neighborhood haunt where every body knows each other and the employees have been working there for years. The food is great and inexpensive, and they usually have like 10 different flavors of coffee to choose from, and they have free wi-fi. The decor is bright and cheery - there's nothing better than snagging a window seat on a winter's day and enjoying coffee and a bagel while watching the snow outside. I don't live in Farmington anymore but whenever I come home for a visit I come here an embarrassing amount, and it's where my old high school friends and I always meet up over the holidays. Thank you Java Joe's for being so awesome! read more

over crowded, with poor customer service, my server seemed annoyed to be waiting on me the last time i went in, so i haven't been back since. Also a rude sign sits, telling the customers that if they need to have their laptops plugged in, that they've been there too long, that just tells me they don't welcome you staying and hanging out. read more

LOVE the bagel sandwiches! Great place to catch up with friends and grab a bagel for breakfast or a sandwich for lunch :)

I have lived in Farmington my whole life and this little corner cafe is the place to go if you want delicious breakfast and lunch food! The All Day Breakfast Sandwich is to die for and the Chicken Salad wraps are divine. Not to mention that the Carrabassett Coffee that is brewed all day is probably some of the best coffee I've ever had the pleasure of drinking. The staff is always friendly and inviting and they know most of the locals by name. In my opinion this restaurant deserves another star on top of the five I have given it. read more
