Rangeley staple, with great ice cream and food. Cash only so don't forget to hit the atm prior to coming

Tons of lobster, NO filler, just lobster.

Had the lobster roll here, well just the lobster. Man it was good. The ice cream was flying out of this tiny shack in the center of town. If I was staying in town I'm sure I would be here daily. Perched right on the Main Street with a back yard of water. What a sweet place to eat some delicious lobster or ice cream. Cash only people.

The Pine Tree Frosty (PTF) is everything that I love about the New England area in one tiny place. Every single time I visit Rangeley, I visit the PTF at least three times. It has to happen. Giffords ice cream is the best. I wish I could somehow get it on the West Coast, but at the same time I love that it's become synonymous with the East for me. I love everything about Giffords. The PTF is the perfect place. The location is great as it's right on Main Street and walking distance to the lake. The picnic tables provide the best ambiance as you sit and stare out to the pond behind PTF and enjoy a waffle cone filled with moose tracks. This is definitely a must have if you're visiting Rangeley!

Get the Gifford's, not the soft serve, which was insufficiently creamy.

Ever since I first heard about Super Secret Ice Cream, it's been on my must-try list. The concept…read moresounded so unique, and a flight of ice cream is basically my dream way to eat ice cream--I always struggle to choose just one flavor. The shop makes tiny-batch ice cream from scratch up in the White Mountains, and it shows in the quality. I went for the egg-carton flight, which came with six flavors: Slopeside Mint Chip, Trillium Coffee, Single Origin Chocolate, Honeycomb, Mount Cabot Maple, and one more I can't quite remember. Each scoop had its own personality--bright mint, bold coffee, rich chocolate, and the maple and honeycomb were especially standout. The space itself is a fun little spot, perfect for a hot day. Portions aren't huge, which I actually liked because it felt more like a treat or snack rather than an overload. My only gripe is that the flavors aren't labeled on the carton, so it can be a bit of a guessing game figuring out what you're tasting. Overall though, between the creativity, the locally inspired flavors, and the chance to try a bunch at once, it's absolutely worth the stop if you're in the area.

It has won various awards, and after just one taste of their ice cream, you'll think to yourself: "Ah, okay - now it all makes sense." I'm finding it hard to accurately describe the flavor explosion when I took a bite of the strawberry shortcake ice cream. It was sweet and tangy, with a crumbly crunch in every bite from the graham cracker. It's as if the strawberry shortcake pops you got from the ice cream truck as a kid were somehow 10 times more delicious and folded into creamy, strawberry ice cream. The place itself is adorable, with plenty of options for outdoor seating both in the front and back. There's even a board where you can spell out words with magnetic letters and a giant checkers game. They've somehow nailed incredible ice cream with a super cool vibe. Service is always fast, friendly, and happy to help you find the right flavor by letting you sample different options. This place is a MUST visit in the Western White Mountains!

Owner operated and staffed, it's a small business you can support, the items come from their Farm two miles from the stand! They carry everything for your meal preparation needs are. Stocking seasonal produce, local favorites, and state favorites. We arrived just after the flags were hoisted that they were open. Plenty of parking and handicap accessible. Store is perfect sized with ample walking and items displayed at arms length. A farm stand decorated with signage and pictures. Owner greeted us and asked if she could help us find anything, we were looking in the bakery case and did not see the rolls we've heard so much about. It's Sunday and it's known as cinnamon roll day; they are displayed and served in the coffee room, around the corner. We were so early the rolls had not come out yet. With in three minutes they came out hot with melting icing YUM!! You're choice to take a plate or to go container. Plenty of napkins and forks. We sat in our car since it was a cold fall morning to enjoy our treat. The dough has a nice buttery flavor, dry yet not crumbly. The cinnamon and sugar layers had the perfect amount of each that one did not over power the other. For someone who feels breakfast is not complete without bacon, I really enjoyed. $2.99 each was reasonable.

I tend to lower my expectations a little bit when I find myself in smaller towns in rural areas, and this spot did a nice job exceeding them. My first time at the Black Pearl and I'll call it a fantastic addition to Rangeley, great space that felt well lit and comfy in a cold late winter night. Sat at the bar and had a really tasty blue cheese burger with an upgrade to risotto. Highlight of the night was the St. Paddy's special Guinness espresso martini. I had no plans for 3 of anything like this, but I had 3! Service was fantastic taboot!

More sauce on the fish would have been a 10/10. The blueberry margarita was great as well. the wings were okay, a little too overcooked and i would've liked to see some homemade ranch. The chicken parm was absolutely terrible unfortunately. Flavorless, the chicken was too thick, pasta was stale, and it was freezing cold. I haven't sent back a dish in over 5+ years and unfortunately I had to send the chicken parm back it was inedible. the vibe of the restaurant was not great as well. We overheard other tables talking about how poor their food was. for example "freezing cold chowder" "my burger is cold" "i could cook better at home" "i'm not paying for this". it definitely added a negative vibe to the experience. This place needs WORK and needs it asap. The wait times were okay, but the kitchen has a lot of work to do. I hope the new owners step it up, we love rangeley and come yearly, but for this place to survive they need passion and some blood sweat and tears to get this place up to par compared to the other restaurants.
