They also like to let the phone ring off the hook or take it off the hook which is very annoying! We stopped in when we arrived in town to pick up a quick bite and some essentials. The store is…read morelarge, clean and well stocked. The issue is with the fresh food. We waited at the food counter but no one paid attention. They were talking and laughing with each other, oblivious. The woman from the register had to come over and take our order. We finished shopping and waited for our sandwiches. 30+ minutes, standing there. The only ones. They're still yammering away. In between all of this, the register lady is running back and forth from their area to hers while they weren't worried about anything. This place is set up to be a real money maker. The food was good once we got it. The location is great. But it's a completely inefficient operation. Hire someone to man the food counter and get the kitchen help to focus instead of socializing- what a difference it would make!

Owen's General Store in Lincolnville is anything but your typical general store. It's a little gem…read morefull of character and small-town charm. The storefront is adorable with its red barn color and Victorian vibe, and inside you'll find cozy seating areas both indoors and outdoors, perfect for lingering a bit after shopping. The staff here are beyond friendly and helpful. In fact, this is the very place where the "blueberry pie survey" happened. We asked the lady behind the register where to find the best blueberry pie, and she started to ask customers who came by who they recommended. They directed us to Moody's Diner. Locals and staff alike are quick to share stories and recommendations, which makes it feel like you're part of the community even if you're just passing through. The store itself is full of surprises. They've got a wood-burning pizza oven (yes, in a general store, how cool is that?), hot lattes, teas, and other comforting drinks, because nothing beats sipping a latte in a Victorian-style shop while digging into a fresh out of the wood burning oven gooey cheesy slice of pizza. Add in their great selection of beer and wine, plus Maine classics like whoopie pies and Moxie soda, and you've got something for everyone. A local gentleman even gave me the full history of Moxie, and that kind of friendliness is exactly what makes this place so special. Outside, you'll find pretty flowers and herbs adding to the charm. Owen's is quaint, welcoming, and one of those stops that makes a Maine trip extra memorable. Definitely worth a visit or 5! I'll most def be going back!

It was cooked just right, piping hot and melt in your mouth taste. I enjoyed the pizza sauce, not too many herbs. We also ordered beer to compliment the pizza. I had a Sam Adams Winter Lager and my hubby had a Geaghan Bros Smiling Irish Bastard Pale Ale which he enjoyed, other beer on tap, Bud Light and Allagash White. I saw they offer coffee and a breakfast pizza and various pastries in the morning. They have Wifi and 2 tv's as well. The decor has been renovated to feature wooden beams and brick work walls. The floors are wood and the ceiling has the old tin ceilings. A nice bench seating with stools separates the dining area and order area. I spoke with Claude Caron one of the owners who has put his whole family to work and has has experience with this since he was in his teens. I wish Claude and Stacy Caron the best and was really impressed with the cuisine and will be back for more!!

They have a sideshow menu with wonderful and tasty options and a heck ton of drink options. Service was standard, someone graciously taking orders at the cash register, cheerful kitchen full of teens slinging pies in and out of the oven, and another busy person running orders out to tables. The vibe was fun, exciting, noisy, but we are happy to be here. Love it! If I was a teen growing up in this town, I'd be here after school everyday. Center of town. Doesn't get better than this!
