This place is great and the manager is fantastic. He knows what I drink so When there is a long line he sees me and gives me my coffee.

This has been my go-to coffee shop every weekend for the last couple of years. To put it simply,…read moretheir coffee is fantastic. Specifically, their cold brew which is extremely smooth and strong, and in my opinion you don't even need to put anything in it unless you really want something sweet, although why would you get a cold brew if that's the case lol. Also packs quite a bit of caffeine so you'll be good for the rest of the day. Their pastries are pretty solid as well, although a bit on the pricier side. The cafe itself is on the smaller side but still an ample amount of seating. It's excellent for meeting with a friend, however the tables are rather small so it is less study friendly unless you manage to snag one of the bigger tables by the entrance. Which is admittedly pretty tough to do unless you get here right when it opens or catch a lucky break when someone leaves - I speak from experience. That said, it's overall a pretty solid spot to get work done. Parking in downtown Summit is a pain in general, I usually just park in the lot and walk over. Limit is at 5 hours and you will have to walk back if you want to extend it. There might be parking available by the cafe, but I'm personally less confident on how long you can to stay before getting ticketed/booted, so do so at your own risk.

I ordered the coconut coffee which was okay, just a bit too sweet for my taste. The second time around, I looked over the menu ahead of time and tried a matcha. It was decent, but again a little sweeter than I personally prefer.

We popped into Serra Doce for a quick bite, with hopes it would live up to our memories of Portugal, and it did not disappoint! I got the crispy chicken sandwich and he got the Sera Sandwich. We then split a pastel de nata. The service was very polite and explained what some of the menu items were for us, and our sandwiches came very quickly. Each sandwich was super hot and fresh. I especially liked the crispy chicken sandwich and will definitely be returning for it. It was simple but the chicken was crispy, the bread was fresh, and it was loaded with fresh veggies. The pastel was just okay for us, but we ate pastel snobs. It didn't really compare to the ones we had in Lisbon, but it is comparable to some of the better bakeries in Newark. The ambiance was also very cute. It's self-seat and casual, but that was perfect for our quick lunch stop. They also have a cute nook if you prefer some privacy.

Fueling Up on Springfield Ave…read more Stopped by Gregorys Coffee - Summit on Springfield Ave in downtown Summit with a friend on a Sunday evening for a quick grab-and-go coffee. We came right before closing, and even while they were winding down, the space felt clean, cozy, and welcoming. I ordered a small vanilla protein cold brew ($8) through the InKind app for easy pickup -- it hit the spot. It wasn't busy when we stopped in, but being right downtown, I can easily see this being a popular stop during peak hours. It's a great place for fueling up before hitting the local shops -- or recharging after. There are tables, chairs, and outlets available if you're planning to stay and get some work done, though we were just grabbing and going. We lucked out with street parking, but I imagine it depends on timing. Friendly staff, smooth ordering, and a cozy vibe. It's on the pricier side, but I'd still come back for another fuel-up.

The drink kinda tasted like a brown sugar, which I loved! 10/10 Unfortunately the matcha wasn't the best, it was very watered down with too much oat-milk. No taste to it at all. Service was okay, I greeted first & wasn't a word said to me. More like of what do you want & that's it. Wasn't so welcoming. Ambiance is pretty chill, you can sit there of course & be able to work / study. Had to give it a 3 start for the service & matcha.. Probably wouldn't come back to this location exact.

It was a delight to have his return to town at Mondo and later across Springfield Ave to the market place at Wine List. I simply require a respectable cuppa joe in the morning - no fancy artwork on a cappuccino or a sugary beverage. I like the daily pot so that my taste buds get varied perks, especially Ahree special blend or Java on Monday mornings. Many come in to buy by the pound, including the upscale Kona - or order online. My drill 4-5 times a week is to go in and chatter with wine, cheese chocolate & flower folks. Like the nearby brewery, the staff & regulars there create a Cheers-like atmosphere. This week marks Ahree's 35th anniversary in the coffee business & is offering a free cup of java daily !!

My wife goes there fairly often; I, on the other hand, only go occasionally. Over the years, I had always been happy with the quality of the products they sell, but lately the pricing has gotten completely out of hand. We were there this past Saturday for breakfast. We shared a shakshuka and had two mocha coffees in the table area, and my wife also ordered a salmon toast. That was it. Somehow, this breakfast cost as much as four meals we had at an Israeli restaurant in NYC the very next day -- and, by the way, those meals were far superior to anything I've ever had at Liv. While at the NYC restaurant, we noticed they charge only $7 for fresh-squeezed orange juice -- in a larger portion than Liv's $12 glass of OJ. Their shakshuka is also only $16, compared with Liv's $22. And this place is in the heart of NYC, not in suburbia New Jersey. I also used to love getting Liv's cookies and croutons, but those have become expensive beyond reason as well. Two packs of cookies, one crouton, and a mocha coffee came to over $50. Seriously? At this point, it is clear to me that the owner's strategy is to keep raising prices to see how much he can get away with. Well, as far as I'm concerned, I'm done. I will no longer be patronizing this kind of price gouging.
