As an East Coaster, I grew up with Dunkin. Now as an adult, their coffee is my go-to whenever I am in the neighborhood. Their cold brew is the best around, in my opinion. This location, however, is inconsistent with its cold brew. On average, every third or fourth visit I have to this specific store has resulted in light and weak CB. When I bring this to the attention of the staff, they are typically very polite and apologetic. They do not (or perhaps cannot) remedy the problem, though. Having already paid, it is a hassle to request a refund. I do not like any of their other drinks, so I politely decline an even exchange. I usually accept the CB, which, when substandard is akin to iced coffee, and walk away disappointed. I have not had this experience at any other locations, though, so I am unsure whether this is an equipment malfunction or training error. Either way, there is room for improvement here. Only 3 stars because service has never been great and seems to have gotten a bit worse. I stopped ordering coffee through the app because my request for almond milk instead of regular milk was ignored most of the time...not fun when you're lactose intolerant and at work...lol. I went in today (3/15/19) for a croissant and donut bites, got my donut bites right away but waited forever for my croissant...they forgot about it. They apologized but it was still annoying. Some other guy ordered a coffee and was waiting for it when I walked in and 3 people that came in after me got their coffee first. At least he got his coffee before I got my croissant. read more

The ham, egg 'n cheese sandwich comes with a rather heavy English muffin that is not toasted or buttered and the ham is not as good as the Canadian bacon McDonald's uses. Both could use a little sauce of some sort. I think whoever develops the perfect sauce (a condiment to enhance the product) will have a serious advantage, but no company appears to grasp that. There is always a McDonald's relatively closed to a Dunkin' Donuts (the reverse is definitely not true). Unless I want a donut I won't be back for breakfast, probably ever. read more

I'm so glad they finally opened another Dunkin Donuts in downtown San Diego. While the other location at Pacific Highway is just as good, the parking situation is a nightmare to get in and out very easily. At least at this spot near Horton Plaza, there's plenty more street parking and structures near by. I've been able to visit here several times over the last month or so and haven't had any issues with getting my orders quickly and correctly. Employees are friendly, talkative and do well making sure things move smoothly. This place offers plenty of seating outside and a clean interior inside. I usually stop by here for a quick coffee by ordering through their app, coffee is ready right when I walk in and I'm out without having to wait. read more

And when these things are not available, there is no offer to refund the money I paid, no, I just get to pick something else or come back later. WTH. I really like this Dunkin Donuts location. Staff is friendly and efficient, and I enjoy the coffee. A straight-up double espresso is $1.99, just so you know. I tried the sourdough breakfast sandwich and it's decent for $4.99. The chairs & tables outside are chained up, and inside obviously no seating due to the Zombie Apocalypse. However, many people sit on the concrete by the plants (just check it first). It's Dunkin Donuts, so it is what it is as far as donuts go - it's no gourmet donut shop but better than 7Eleven. This review is from my visit about two weeks ago. I'm visiting from Albuquerque, and the downtown district was a bit of a challenge finding parking and navigating. I'll be honest I had to circle 3 or 4 times to find where to park. Ultimately parking about 3 blocks away and walked. But it wasn't a complaint or bad, it was a lovely April morning, misty in downtown San Diego. So I walked. I arrived inside and ordered my usual weird concoction of a iced coffee: regular sugar and liquid sugar, coconut and caramel flavoring, cream. Some people say it's too much sugar, it is, and I love it. I ordered a bagel toasted with veggie cream cheese. I was surprised to see that when it came out they don't put the cream cheese on. Not a complaint, cashier explained some people don't want a full portion, so they leave it to them to put how much they want. I get that. I did sit for a while doing this and that on my computer. It was a fun beautiful morning. And the view from the window while on my computer was phenomenal. read more

I order from this location every weekend. I usually send one of my girls over to pick it up. I order the same thing an iced vanilla cappuccino and they made a blended vanilla something or other. She said they don't make iced cappuccinos which I don't understand because I order it ALL THE TIME. I ordered two maple snackin bacons and she gave me two bacon croissants. I ended up with an iced latte which isn't the same thing as a cappuccino. I didn't know they just stopped making iced cappuccinos. read more

Worst donuts we have ever eaten. First, the selection was very limited. Second, they tasted a week old. I guess dunk them to revive and past history of being fresh. I get it now. I frequent this Dunkin through the week so I was surprised at how poor service was this morning. We first noticed how filthy the floor and tables were. We a heavy set lady with long black hair took our order but didn't listen to what we asked she had to redo the order on the register. The name on top of my receipt was Sedney.P we than waited for our order while witnessing the hot mess that was occurring the line was building up. The male line workers were continuously messing up order ice coffee was mad hot no sugar wrong size etc. a young lady customer became very upset because her order was incorrect 3 times and one of the workers was like well what do you want she said my coffee made correctly she was waiting for at least 20 min. The shift leader the dark haired women Sedney laughed and yelled from the back great work guys and made a smirk rolling her eyes at the customers as she sat at the desk texting and counting money. We asked who was the manager on she never made eye contact with us and one of the other workers told us her. Her behavior was extremely passive aggressive and inappropriate They continued to mess up or orders they ended up giving away 4 free because they were made incorrect . I am very understanding because I work with the general public and understand the intensity. I felt bad for the line workers they had no support from their leader as she sat and watched them sink and the customers anger. She was horrible I would re-think her position. Went to grab a quick cup of coffee - waited over 15 minutes. There was a huge line of people just waiting for their coffee. The first 10 minutes I waited not a single beverage had been served. There were three staff working - a cashier, someone making food, and someone who did not appear to be working at all. When the employee making food realized how backed up the drink line was she did quickly switch to making drinks - however one employee continued to not work and seemed to be wandering around aimlessly. For a busy morning this location needs more staff and a more effective method of serving its customers. read more

I can't say that the food is bad, considering that I have never had it, so I've added an extra star. However, their coffee is quite disgusting. I tried it today and I couldn't even finish it. Why all the rave? Half-day-old donuts tasted at least two-days-old. I ordered a jelly filled and a sugar just before 7:00 p.m. on my way to a musical. I was amazed at the line of people awaiting their breakfast items; those that had theirs looked like they were enjoying their food. Then came my turn at the separate line for the donuts and it was like a kid in candy land! Now only was there an excellent selection, the lady who helped me at the calendar was very patient and helpful in the selection making. When I got to my car, the donut aroma was out of this world! Only real knock here is on the parking difficulty. The service is par or above. The food and drink are as expected. Dunkin has my favorite coffee...period. Very simple. "Coffee regular" which does NOT mean regular coffee at Dunkin. It means 4 creams, 4 sugars. Californians unfamiliar with Dunkin may be surprised by that. This establishment is getting 5 stars because of one person and one person alone, I initially would have given it one star. Because of one employee , Ellen brazzell it is receiving five!! I woke up Sunday morning and had my husband go to get my favorite Donuts .... Boston cream, lemon custard and Old Fashioned these are popular Donuts that at 9:30 a.m. in the morning should be in stock on the Shelf. However, they were completely out . When he got home I was beyond frustrated that they were out this early especially on a Sunday morning. Donuts are dry and taste like they have been sitting there for a few days. We also ordered coffees. My husband ordered an almond milk iced latte and I ordered a black iced coffee. The latte was completely white and tasted like almond milk with a very slight coffee essence. My iced coffee was sour. We took two sips and threw them away. read more
