The menu, of course, also has "Carol's Favorite 'Comfort Food' Sandwiches" on the menu, all named after famous artists. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I'm a huge Van Gogh fan, so I ordered the "Van Gogh" sandwich that comes with oven roasted turkey breast layered on sourdough bread and lettuce, tomato, and mayo. The sandwich was good, but I have to say that proportions of the ingredients felt a bit off. I also noticed during the prep of my plate that the chips came from opening a bag (a bulk version similar to ripple chips you'd just buy at the store). In a cafe space like this, you can't necessarily expect people to be making everything from scratch... but I think it's just helpful to note to keep expectations in line. The drink that I ordered was made well (their beverage selection is at the very back of the menu). You can definitely tell that this is a community space, and it seemed like a number of locals filtered in throughout the lunch. There are notes on the tables that advise of a 90 minute limit for sitting at the table (not something I've ever actually seen before), and there's wifi available for use by customers. Perhaps an awkward experience was just related to the overall service? You grab a menu and choose your table if you're dining in, but you end up paying at the counter. Personally, if I'm going to sit down to eat then I'd prefer to have the check brought to the table and pay that way. The space is a bit cramped by the counter, so it seems like it'd benefit to minimize the foot traffic that has to wait there. And perhaps this is silly, but upon paying for the lunch, the server handed me my receipt and said "Just sign here", and then seemed to be somewhat... abrupt? I feel like I'm pretty low maintenance when dining out, but it just left me going "OH. Okay. Time for me to get out of the way" (it's worth noting that at the time, there was nobody waiting around, or to get to, the counter). Still, it was enjoyable to stop at Carol's Coffee & Art Bar. It's a more unique space with nice offerings.

The food, baked goods,and coffees are delicious. The atmosphere is so calming. There are beautiful paintings of Carol's artwork surrounding the cafe. A n d about once a week there is live music performed by a very talented musician. Its truly a warm welcoming café to just relax and feel comfortable. Its a rare treat in these stressful times where everything is rushed and impersonal. Highly recommend!

We ordered and paid at the counter and they brought the food to our table. We ordered three pick-two combo. The sandwiches were average. The chili had way too much chili powder as that's all i could taste. No one finished their chili because of it. The Italian chicken trio soup was too acidy. The corn muffins were cold. I think they would taste better if served hot.

There's a display up by the cash register with one of every donut that is currently being sold that morning/day so you can make your selection easier. The menu is a little more extensive than donuts, as they also have hoagies and shareables and of course coffee/ juices. For whatever reason, somebody decided to put donuts with beer... Yeah I don't know... But, if the mood strikes you they have a very fine selection that they rotate from time to time of draft beer. It's a pour your own kind of a thing and they also sell growlers. With that recommendation in mind, my mother and I stopped by to see the shop when we were wandering through Owego to do a bit of shopping. We were delighted by the selections in this cute confectionery shop - and besides jars of my peanut butter and a couple selections of fudge, we also bought cheese, peanut brittle, and various jarred, pickled items. I'm much more a fan of savory vs. sweet, so it was nice to find selections that covered all kinds of tastes. The man tending the counter was an absolute sweetheart and offered to let us try samples of the fudge flavors before we made our selections. He was very courteous when assisting others in the store as well. My colleague also mentions this place has things like SO MANY basket options for the Easter holiday. It seems like they really prepare for the various holidays throughout the year + want to ensure they offer quality product. I am pretty disappointed in what happened here today, it is a Friday at 6 pm and there are 2…read moreemployees working here with a line of people waiting, witnessed 1 person leave because of slow service, we ordered subs and waited about 15 min to be told there was no roast beef sliced and the employ working couldn't slice more without the owners being there. we decided to not purchase the subs and left. I would think that unless there was some kind of emergency that the owner would be there on a very popular evening. The 2 employees were doing their best but I'm assuming you have lost at least a couple customers because of this issue.
