I ordered a latte and some beignets for the road with white chocolate sauce, and OMG - so so yummy! I loved my little piece of NOLA in MD. & my next time in the area, I will for sure be returning. This location is super fitting too, with a lot of customers coming with their laptop or workbooks to not only eat and be served, but to use the space for their own personal development.

This review is about service and class and who I will and will not trust to prepare what I consume…read more I ordered a Velvet ice with oat milk. The woman taking my order added "no whip" because she assumed I didn't want dairy at all. When I asked for the whip they, with a nasty attitude, told me I had to pay extra. That didn't make sense to me considering the photo shows whip cream included. They started having a conversation in the back about me for making this simple request pointing out what their menu shows. I then pulled up the menu, waited in line again, and I showed them the menu and the mobile app which both show whip included and which you actually have to deselect it and neither has an additional fee. The woman preparing my order acknowledged that she deselected it on my behalf since I asked for oat milk. At this point - this is absolutely not about the whip cream or the upcharge, it is the abhorrent service, the aggressive demeanor, and the unexplained disdain I was shown when I treated both women with nothing but respect from the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out of the establishment. ATP the woman who took my order saw the issue and was going to resolve it by, of course, adding the included whip cream! However, the manager, DJ returned and interfered refusing to allow her to do so & going on a rant directed at me when I was not at all in communication with her. Then, as she was returning my order (which included a tip btw!!) she proceeded to attempt to insult me by saying, "if you don't have 70 cents to pay for this, just say so." For the record, the tip I left was more than the 70 cents so that obviously did not land well. Throughout this dumbfounding experience, I was standing there, my voice calm, not raised, in a store full of my customers (after I patiently waited in line a second time) at 10 months pregnant. We all have bad days, but on so many levels, this cannot be acceptable at any point. To insult someone to try to win a "debate" over a non-issue in an industry where some of us remember "the customer is always right," is despicable at best. I hope someone finds a training opportunity in this, but I will not return to ever find out.

AunTea Boba's drinks are so good for not having to drive to either college park, dc, or Annapolis for a boba drink. I recommend the Mango Marble with Star Jelly if you are craving something sweet. The Taro flavor is also a solid choice. The ambiance could be better since it's a little strange that it shares the space with a barbecue shop. However, the service is always kind.

From the inside, a cashier flagged me down, so I know where to order. I chose tiramisu. I wanted to try something different since they had the usuals, that I have had before. It took some time, to get it. Being it was my first time, I had no idea where to pick up my drink. The cashiers both evaporated into thin air. Then I saw the woman who came after me, got her drink after me. I was like, order for Shelly? The employee with the tarantula eyelashes ( she had no name tag) Just pointed to the drink that had been sitting. No one ever called out my name or number. Yet these employees want a tip each time you pay? The drink wasn't in a marked Aunt TeaBoba. It was in a plain plastic cup. No decorations or anything. The drink itself was awful. Didn't even taste like tiramisu. Completely watered down & looked nothing like the poster. Highly doubtful that I'll return. Bad service and product.

Three must-tries here at this El Salvadoran and Mexican neighborhood bakery go-to:…read more 1.) Get the breakfast platter with plantains, scrambled eggs, chorizo (sausage), refried beans, crema (similar to a milder, sweeter sour cream) and queso fresco (dry, salty squares of cheese). There are 3 variations on this breakfast platter, served all day here. You did not visit Flor Blanca until you eat one of their breakfast platters, shown in photos on the special breakfast menu. And, the rich coffee - to go with it - is definitely a thing here. 2.) Get the soft banana pudding bread (I don't know what they call it but it's the only dessert with a golden top that looks like a square slice of bread pudding.) Heat it up at home. It's tender and mild. Don't pour rum on top of this bread pudding because you may not be the same, afterward. And you will end up wanting more. 3.) Get the plain tamales and make sure to buy extra crema. You cannot find homemade tamales just anywhere outside of holidays. These tamales are so good. Meow meow meow meow. Listen, there is a lot of good food here. I love the plain white rice as it is seasoned well. So when it is served with an entree I sometimes get another side order to take home. The horchata drink was an early afternoon ritual for me, at times, along with the heated banana bread pudding. (If anyone knows what this is called I'll update the description.) People live to go in-and-out just to pick up a red tray and fill it up with pastries to go. Tempting! The cakes are moist and the cake pops are delicious. I love the mango tres leches cake here. And you can get a large, professional cake baked. There is a whole catalog of special event cake designs to choose from. Even though they close at 8pm, most people eat here much earlier, as I've seen and seem to finish before 7. I used to come here when no English was spoken at the counter. You could say the food names by navigating and pointing to the menu photos. It was like you were in a completely different country. Now, a few years later, all of the staff can speak to you. Either way, they were patient with me and my broken Spanglish. I really like the team, here. We have been here en la noche (night) - eating late and enjoying the food - and they have always been gracious and helpful. Just ask them what the most popular dish for that time of day you are there. I'm learning that we need to come earlier and take our food to go if it's after 7ish because otherwise we are sitting alone. There are so many menu items I didn't touch on which I've enjoyed, but do not miss the first 3! #localtastebyjenny
