I find this place under-rated and their expresso drinks are wayyy better than Starbucks'. Iced latte is my favorite. The service here is attentive and orders are pushed out quickly. I was really excited to find that there was a coffee shop so close on this side of campus. As a student at UMD, you can bet you will find someone in class holding a Casey's Coffee cup. But to be honest, the coffee is not that good at all?? I think students come here cause they're too lazy to walk to the other side of campus for coffee?? I would rather take Starbucks or make my own coffee before coming back here. Usually, I aim to find independent coffee shops to rise above Starbuck's basic taste, but man.. this was sweet af and you barely taste any expresso. I even asked the counter guy, he said "it depends. depends on how many shots you get." I had 3 shots in a small cup which should be bitter and dark but no where close. I would call this more of a expensive cup of sugared milk. If you're lactose then you're SOL because they serve ONLY whole milk. No 2%. I can't drink soy since I'm allergic and almond milk is not for me... neither is Casey's. The people who work here seem unenergetic and the guy seemed super annoyed when I asked him questions about the coffee, sweetness, milk,etc. Whateves, I make better coffee anyways. read more

My experience here is usually great. I've gone to Casey's Coffee for a while now, every since my freshman year (I'm a junior) to get their bagel breakfast sandwiches and mean green smoothie. However, my most recent experience there was so annoying, that I will not ever go back. I ordered a medium coffee, and after I got it I realized I wanted milk in my coffee. So I asked for a larger cup to pour my coffee into, to make room. You'd think it'd be a simple request, but instead the lady argued with me on it. She said that she'd be willing to pour out the coffee that **I had already paid for** to make room for milk, but she wouldn't be willing to give me another paper cup. I didn't argue or get loud, but I was very confused. I felt like she was insinuating that I was trying to rip her off or something, like a micro-aggression, and I didn't appreciate it. Casey's is the best cafe you can find within a 2-mile radius. The paninis are huge and come with pickles and chips, yes they are a bit pricey but a lot of food. My favorite is the avocado bacon panini. Same goes for the salads. I particularly like the southwestern taco salad. Their coffee is decent and a nice change from Starbucks. This place is so convenient for UMD students. Park in lot 1 and walk right over. I've only had lunch there, but it's always delicious. I've had the garden veggie wrap and the tomato mozzarella sandwich. Both were really fresh and packed with ingredients. Some people complain about the price, but they definitely don't skimp. You also get a pickle and chips with the sandwiches, and I've heard you get bread with a salad. The service is quick and the food is good. Still have to try breakfast and their coffee! read more

I've found myself craving Casey's lately, particularly their grilled chicken and fresh mozzarella sandwich. I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but I've had several of their sandwiches and baked goods. Chicken and mozzarella is by far my favorite. Several times in the past few months I've driven far out of my way to get it. It's a pretty big sandwich and comes with a bag of chips. My only complaint is that the sandwiches are a bit pricey. With tax I believe it's $8-$9. It is a good sandwich, and I don't mind occasionally paying that much but with Subway literally next door there have been several times where I've opted for the cheaper $5 footlong instead of Casey's. read more

I can't vouch for the food, but the coffee is amazing. I've been drinking coffee for over twenty years, and have become something of a "coffee snob" in the process. With the occasional one-off exception while traveling, Casey's Coffee has the best blends I have had the fortune to drink. Black Satin is, like it name implies, very dark, but also very smooth. Their French Roast and Northwest Blends are both quite good as well. As of this writing, I have been going there regularly for around two months, and have already bought five pounds of coffee beans for home use. Since I'm a "regular" now, the staff often has my order ready by the time I hit the register. So again, while I can't make any claims about the food, the coffee is a true 5-star experience (and really, that's what a coffee shop is for, isn't it?). read more

The staff is always waiting around the in the back room ignoring the register. When they finally do notice you they take forever to make a drink if its more than just coffee or tea. I have gone to Casey's coffee a few times for a quick latte. Once I saw their menu, I decided to start eating the food. During my second visit, I saw a roach crawling around the area where they hold your food. I also saw an ant crawling in my lunch bag. The third time I went I discovered a strange bug in my salad. I love their coffee, so its going to be hard for me to never return, but Id rather not risk my health. Other than the bug infestation, their food is pretty decent. They could come down on their prices, but I get it your on a college campus so its expected.
