Breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, cheddar biscuit, and potatoes was Dave's order. The cheddar biscuit was nearly the size of my hand. Easily 2.5 times larger than average biscuits. My former manager, Jimmy Randolph, told me years ago that his mother made cat head biscuits. The biscuit was at least the size of a cat's head. The cheddar biscuit was delicious. Dave said everything about his order except the potatoes was ok. He is a simple man who does not want green peppers, onions or anything else cooked with his potatoes. As soon as he saw the add ons to his side of potatoes, he had a grumpy look. He refused to eat said add ons. He said he wouldn't order a side of potatoes again. 3/5 My Southwest Omelette and potatoes was average. The omelette was cooked too much. It was dry. There wasn't enough cheese in my humble opinion. The potatoes were ok. The potatoes were boiled with no crisp edges. I prefer crispy potatoes. I did eat the add ons. They were flavorful. 3/5 The menu lists breakfast potatoes. No description of additional bell peppers and onions added. I bought a few petit fours. Two vanilla and two chocolate for $8. They were beautifully decorated and tasted good. They were not the best I have had but not the worst. 4/5 I will return to Edgar's. They have many bakery items to select from. The young person (woman) decided to help me, she was silent (didnt speak a courteous word.) I was asking about the Easter cupcakes, she simply demanded "which ones do you want". She then proceeded to put the selected cupcakes in a carry out vessel and crushed the lovely icing into the top of the clamshell. She never even slowed down to see what she did. She then went away for several minutes while I was trying to checkout without cupcakes. Once the first (helper???) actually brought the cupcakes the checkout person turned them on their side. This was a classic yeast donut fried and then tossed in a cinnamon sugar mixture. Overall, it was just...fine. I thought the dough/bread itself was a little tough and chewy. The cinnamon sugar was pleasant but somehow the flavor didn't penetrate the donut, if that makes sense. It was a teeny bit bland, but not bad, though also not something I'd go out of my way to get again. I'd like to try a cake donut or a kolache at some point, especially since I am sort of so so on fried donuts anyway. If and when I get around to it, I'll happily update this review!

I was only going to get one. But nostalgia took over. They were better than I remembered. The pink iced one was strawberry. I had to taste it first. The texture was as I remembered, a slight crunch on the outside while the inside was yeasty and golden with a a hint of spice. The atmosphere was friendly, the counters were clean and there was friendly banter between the servers who treated us like we already regulars-- which we will most certainly be. The box is empty now. It will certainly be refilled soon.

I went for a treat after getting my hair done about a week ago. The menu most heavily features Japanese style soufflé pancakes, which are a good bit thicker and pleasantly jiggly compared to American pancakes. They also offer croffles, or croissant waffles, usually in the form of a sandwich for a more savory option, a couple of croffle eggs benedicts, and other desserts such as burnt-top cheesecakes and I thiiiiiink maybe macarons and rolled cakes with cream fillings (think Swiss cake rolls). They have coffee and a few speciality lattes to drink as well. The inside was very clean and modern. It was pleasantly busy but despite seating being pretty limited I found a spot easily enough. You order at the counter but an employee will bring your food to you when it's ready. Service was a bit of a mixed bag. The person who took my order was pretty surly and disinterested, but the man who brought my food out to me and was bussing tables went out of his way to say a friendly few words to me and check in. I ordered the tiramisu soufflé pancakes and an iced Nutella hazelnut latte. Both were quite pretty to look at and came out quickly. The latte was pretty sweet, which is how I like them, though not sweeter than the tiramisu pancakes -- I'd say an appropriate level of sweet for a more dessert-y coffee drink. The pancakes themselves were, well, fluffy. They are quite different from American style pancakes but certainly have their own merits; subtly sweet, bouncy, and fun to eat. These came with a sort of chocolate syrup/drizzle in a pot for personal portion control, a sprinkling of pretty and ripe blackberries and raspberries, and a sweet and creamy sort of tiramisu topping. It all melded together into a decadent but not cloying meal. The order comes with two pancakes and I thought that was plenty to eat given how rich it was, though I did find it a little pricy. Overall, I'd recommend this place as a good option to try soufflé pancakes -- I don't think they can be found elsewhere in Huntsville, so if you're curious, give them a go. I don't know if these are the best representatives ever given my own inexperience, but it certainly beats never having tried them at all.
