I did get the last bacon egg and cheese biscuit and it was delicious! It had a sweetness to it, I think it might have been honey, maybe honey butter. It worked well with the saltiness of the bacon. I also got a dozen donut holes, chocolate glazed donuts, and regular glazed donuts. Everything was really great. I wish I had taken some pictures. I would definitely go there again when in the area.

There were no hot donuts available, and the ones I did get tasted noticeably stale, like they had been sitting far longer than expected for that time of morning. On top of that, if you want to mix a dozen, there's an additional charge of $0.79 per donut. That adds up quickly and feels excessive for something that's pretty standard at most donut shops. I genuinely try to support local businesses whenever I can, but experiences like this make it difficult. When you're paying more, you expect better freshness and basic flexibility. If you're looking for fresh donuts and a smoother experience, you may be better off making the short drive to Mandeville or Slidell, it's likely worth the extra time.

I do wish they'd offer more gluten-free pastries, and I wish PJ's would add southern wedding cake to their daily coffee rotation in store, but for now, I'll just indulge on southern pecan when I'm visiting for the holidays.

When I got engaged, I was adamant about getting my wedding cake here. My fiancé and I scheduled a tasting, and his decision was solidified. We got both of our cakes from here. They were EXTREMELY reasonable, elegant, and guests raved about how wonderful they tasted (some still talk about it to this day). All of my cake was gone, and we had a few slices of the groom's cake leftover. My husband ideally wanted cream cheese icing on his cake, but given we got married at the end of September, the bakery suggested getting buttercream so the cheese wouldn't spoil. We opted for that and were SO happy with how the cake turned out. If you're doing a wedding cake with white icing, get the glitter/shimmer dusting. It will make your cake POP in photos. I was hesitant about it until I was finalizing my order and saw an anniversary cake (that looked like one of our layers) with it.
