The Monte Cristo, my favorite sandwich was made with such flavored ham and thinly sliced to like on. Grilled perfectly and served with Maine Maple Syrup on the side for dipping. Home fries on the side looked basic and fried, but the seasonings used added a yum factor! If I didn't live 3000 miles away I would make this my regular breakfast stop! Thank you for preparing the classics right. The restaurant was order at the counter and bus your own table. Don't be turned off by that. The frozen meals and soups to go were priced fairly. Given that it was 2pm already,we ordered iced mochas (no.1 item listed on the menu) but it looks like the concept of what an iced mocha is is sorta different here. I didn't question what I received upon picking it up,but when we took them with us to enjoy at their mini patio (which was filthy btw, full of crumbles and I had to pick up our dog on my lap),it turned out that our iced mochas were cold brews with ice and chocolate syrup (for some reason flaky...). 2 stars for a lovely barista, but I wouldn't come back here-not for coffee, not for ambiance. Sorry..!

Title: Great vibes, fantastic drinks, but skip the unsolicited lecture…read more We're visiting Bangor for the first time and were absolutely thrilled to stumble upon this spot while walking downtown. The atmosphere is exactly what you hope for in a local coffee shop--loved the aesthetic, the crowd was friendly, and having the lounge area next door is a fantastic touch. The drinks themselves? Delicious. The person at the register clearly knows how to pull a great shot and make a beautiful beverage. However, we had a really odd interaction while ordering. Without any prompting from us, the barista launched into a strange, unsolicited lecture about whether a Café Mocha is Italian or American, speaking to us as if we had never had coffee outside of the U.S. It was especially baffling given that we've visited Italy numerous times. We didn't ask for the history lesson, and being talked down to for no reason definitely left a sour note on an otherwise lovely visit. The bottom line: Absolutely come here for the cozy space and the high-quality drinks. Just hope the person at the register decides to skip the coffee trivia and just make the amazing drinks they clearly know how to make.

It's been a while. I figured there would be new, and hopefully friendlier, staff. I was half right. There was new staff, but unfortunately, they were as unwelcoming as the last batch. This place has no prices on any of the premade sandwiches or pastries in their cases (why??), so we asked "Hey there, how much are your pies and cookies?". The employee was in the lobby sweeping and said "I'm not sure. Somewhere between $3- $5. Maybe more". She doesn't look up. Doesn't offer more clarity. She just shrugged this non-answer to us and carried on. It was awkward. So my husband, trying to make light of it, says "Sounds like it's up for debate so how about I give you $2.50" and this girl gives us a dour look and snaps "Well, I'm not behind the cash register so I can't look at the prices, can I?". So, we have now learned our lesson with this place twice. Not sure what it is about the culture there that results in such bad service years apart and by different people. We won't be returning.
