Excellent pour-over Sumatra coffee and friendly service. Got a bag of beans for making home brew. The two scones were ok - one bacon cheddar savory and a currant - they were a tad dry and kind of see the shortening but good flavor. Nice homey, relaxing space inside and friendly service.

A coffee lover's paradise. Wonderful coffee at really reasonable prices for what you get--you can not only pick your bean's origin, but also the brew method (filter coffee with either pour-over or batch brew, French Press, and Aeropress). Nice place to hang out, too, with indoor and outdoor seating. We got the Ethiopian Sidamo in a pour-over ($3) and an Aeropress ($3) and both were fantastic. Other options are cold brew, hot and iced teas, Chai, hot chocolate or iced mocha, as well as pastries by local bakeries Tinder Hearth, Terri Rippeto, and Milkweed + Monarch. I was pleasantly surprised and amazed at the level of the coffee program here. I've lived in Brooklyn and Chicago so am used to pretty good coffee--this place is just as good as any I've had in those cities.

Really cool coffee shop- they do they own drips, cold brew etc. with lots of bean varieties. Also a few teas and was happy to see non diary milk alternatives such as almond and oat. I do wish they had matcha but that may not have made its way here yet. They also had good baked goods and little biscuit sandwiches which they offer on a rotating variety (and they were delicious)! They also said they ship beans so we may be ordering some!

Hours of operation are flighty, but if you can manage to get there before too many of their homemade flavors are devoured then you shall not be disappointed. It just always seems we arrive a little too late and painters tape has been applied to 3/4 of the flavors on the board, so usually it's just the basics: Chocolate and Vanilla. Also, they have a lunch board with a limited number of choices; recently we chose between Roast Pork, Smoked Haddock, or Salmon served with various accoutrements between the slices of fresh bread. Low and behold the Roast Pork sold out ten minutes after opening! The smoked Haddock and Salmon sandwiches worth the wait.

There are benches around the area for you to sit if you are simply passing by. I've been here so many times I've ended up eating everything they have to offer and I have no regrets. The ice-cream is ADDICTIVE. Out of all of them my favorite is the maple walnut flavor and the black raspberry. The chicken sandwich is VERY appetizing and the lobster rolls are just out of this world. I think I come here 5 days out of the week so it's safe to say that I definitely recommend this place if you're in the area.

Their cold brew is fantastic on a warm morning leading into a hot day, and their croissants are flaky and perfect. The chocolate ones are especially good. They also have a dark chocolate brownie that's positively decadent. I can't speak for their sandwiches, sadly, or the delicious confections on display every day at the counter, piled high with Maine blueberries...but I will say that everything in there was clearly made fresh daily, and looked...well, good enough to eat. They even had a basket marked "yesterday's baking" for discounted goods from the day before, displaying both their dedication to supplying fresh bread every morning and that wonderful waste-not, want-not island economy. There's also a small counter of meats and cheeses, some wine, oils, and preserves on shelves near the back of the store, and a beautiful display of vintage teacups along the wall opposite the counter. The teacups are $20 each and come with a cup of tea, and after a week of popping in for my morning coffee I couldn't resist. I am now the proud owner of a beautiful vintage teacup. The barista wrapped it up for me snuggly enough that it made the journey back home without a scratch, even in a car full of nonsense and two sunbaked millennials. Now I'm back in Boston, where there's a coffee shop on every corner...but to be honest, none of the cold brews I've had here quite compare to Downstreet Market's.

When I walked in I saw that there were pies on the counter and our group (outside) had not tried a Maine Blueberry pie yet so I figured I'd order two slices as a surprise. I walked up to the counter where there was a young girl standing there who wouldn't even say anything to me. I was right in front of her at the counter and she had seen me. I spoke to get her attention and she said, "oh are you here for..(I didn't hear the rest but it was something she was expecting or someone coming)" I said "no, I'd like to order, where do I order?" (Since it had been a decent amount of time of her being aware I was there standing in front of her counter and her doing nothing). Nobody else was in the store except my friend, my child and I. She said, "you order with me". I said, "Ok, I'd like two zap frap's and two slices of blueberry pie please". She paused and said, "just a moment." She walked away, into the back, as if something was odd. She came back with a woman who said, "can I help you?". I said, "yes I'd like to order two zap fraps and two slices of blueberry pie". She paused, rudely looked at me and told a guy, "go ahead and get it for her". I was the only one standing at the counter. Behind me was my friend. I felt very odd by the interaction and I can't adequately put it into words. It was beyond rude, almost like a hateful kind of rude. I didn't know what it was but it felt like something was wrong with me being in there. I am Asian with tattoos and a biracial child. I have manners.. My friend who is Caucasian (relevant to the story) was sitting down at the table watching the whole thing said, " it appears you just got discriminated against." I said, "I felt exactly that way but didn't want to say that in case i was wrong!!!" Of course we don't know that, but something was off. My child had to use the bathroom. I handed my friend my card and asked him to pay with it so I could take my child to the bathroom. When I came out my friend told me I had paid over $27. $27 and change for two frappacinos and two slices of pie. The pie and frappacinos were excellent, don't get me wrong. It was the interaction that was completely weary and if not discrimination, beyond rude. I do agree with my friend that there was something else happening. Even if it wasn't discrimination- at a very low level of expectations- what happened to customer service? What happened to, "hi, can I help you?", and then to charge me $27 for it? I don't care how good the food is, I would never go to this place again.
