This is truly one of the best breakfast places I've ever been to. Everything was exceptional -- the Eggs Benedict, tartines, Turkish eggs, fresh bakery items, and all the different superb coffee selections. Every meal was fresh, unique, and absolutely delicious. This was my second time visiting & I ended up ordering even more than the first. I originally planned to try a new spot, but nothing else was open around that time so I came back here, and I'm glad I did. I started with two toasted bagels with cream cheese. They were fine, not the freshest bagels I've had, but they had a good amount of cream cheese, just okay overall. The croissant was large and nicely toasted, likely not baked in-house (gave off Costco croissant vibes), but it came with a really tasty berry spread. The blueberry scone, however, wasn't great. Not a fan of the texture or flavor on that one. For coffee, I tried the dirty chai and a regular drip coffee, both solid and satisfying. But the real showstopper was the lavender latte. I'm obsessed. It was fragrant, smooth, and perfectly balanced. Easily my favorite part of the visit. I also had the BLT sandwich and the smoked salmon tartine. Both were delicious. You could tell the same ingredients (pickles, veggies, capers) were used across multiple items, but it still worked well and tasted fresh. Lastly, I ordered the Dutch baby pancake. The presentation was lovely, and it was freshly made, but the flavor was just okay, I've had better. The overall experience was really fun. This cafe on the quiet side of the island offers freshly made hot breakfast as well as pastries and a substantial freezer section. I don't really go for the egg breakfasts, so my savory options were limited. However, the sweet side of things suited my tastes. When I ordered a Dutch baby oven pancake, they asked if I wanted it plain, which I was a tad insulted by. Who goes to Maine and doesn't get the blueberries? The blueberries were not fresh but instead came preserved in syrupy form with some other fruit and maple syrup on the side. This excess of flavor was a fine vacation indulgence for me. Their interpretation of a London Fog was also quite sweet, which I didn't expect and didn't really need. Thus, I didn't go for any pastries, but I have to say they looked nice. read more

Came in to grab a quick coffee on our way out of Southwest Harbor toward a hike a few minutes away. I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that they had a cortado on their board of espresso drinks and more pleasantly surprised by the fact that it was light, bitter, and clean with hints of dry cocoa. The only complaint was that the line was a bit long and we had to wait both to order and to get the drinks. The food looked good going by as we stood there. We might try to sit down at of the cute, slightly cramped tables on another visit. read more

I loved the blueberry Dutch baby pancake which was light and fluffy and reminded me of a popover. There was a good amount of blueberry syrup and caramelized syrup to add to the pancake. They also had a good hot pumpkin coffee. We also ordered quiche and a grilled cheese sandwich with bacon to go and those were delicious as well. The eggs are poached beautifully, the bread is fresh and the daikon carrots take this dish over the top. The service was spectacular and the location is perfect. The latte was one of the best I've ever had. The decor was so pretty and the place had such a great vibe. I highly recommend you stop in for breakfast. We will be hitting this place up again before we leave. Update! We came 1 more time before we left MDI. Just as great if not better than the first! We got some Pastries to take with us this time. Quaint spot that was thankfully open on a Sunday. My mom and I loved the French toast. My husband loved his Turkish eggs and I thought the bite I had of his was super flavorful. Even though it was busy, the employees were on top of their game and very accommodating for our group of 4 when there was limited seating. Breakfast and the pastries here were all great. I had a breakfast dish that was a special for the day (can't remember the name unfortunately) that was fantastic. It was 2 eggs, sweet potatoes, bacon, avocados, and pickled onions and it was all very good. Lattes were also delicious. 10/10 recommend. read more

I recommend you come during the week and early if you can! This place gets crowded and sells out of items during the busy season. For the quiet side, this place is not quiet. You can find yourself waiting on a long line during peak hours (and be warned, you won't know the actual wait time until you get through the whole line and place your order at the counter). When you arrive, you get in line and wait to order. Once you order they seat you and give you an estimated wait time. They have some quick to go options if you can not wait. The staff was very friendly, and very apologetic for our long wait, giving us some cookies to say sorry. The food was delicious and fresh. Very expensive, which is typical of the area. read more

Really enjoyed coming here with my family during my stay in ME. I was lucky enough to try lots of different items. The Vegetarian Benedict was delicious. I enjoyed the mushrooms and asparagus spears. I also like the breakfast sandwich. I chose to have the sesame bagel option with cheddar, egg over hard and avocado instead of meat. Delicious. You can also get it on an English muffin instead. The pastries I tried while I was in town were: Blueberry and lemon danish- which was amazing tangy with lemon but still allowed you to taste the sweet blueberries. Cheese danish- mouthwatering and flavorful. Banana pudding- delicious, creamy, and worth the calories. I ate the entire cup by myself. Banana cake- one of the best cakes I have had in a long time. Went to this quaint spot for two breakfasts in a row!! First time, we had the Turkish Eggs which were delectable and probably the best Turkish Eggs I have had to date. We also had the mini fruit tart and Blueberry Bagel with Plain Cream cheese which were both great. Special shout out for the salad that accompanied the bagel; it was a simple Mediterranean style salad that was scrumptious. Second time, we tried the Shakshuka (highly recommend!) and Veggie Eggs Benedict, which were good. The servers were kind and welcoming. The cappuccino was great, too! A true gem!! As someone who generally doesn't like breakfast in the US (usually too sweet, too bland, too heavy & too carby), a 5 star rating for a breakfast place is a first. But the food here was SO good- everything we had the 4 mornings in a row that we ate there was fantastic! My favorites were the feta fried eggs (hold the bacon for me), the Turkish eggs, and the Shakshuka in that order. My husband loved the rice bowl and the avocado tartine. Pastries & muffins were also delicious- fun flavor options, not too sweet and very fresh - on two mornings, they were still making the buns as they as we came in. The service was also kind and warm. The fresh made bakery foods are delicious, specialty coffee flavor spot on, the decor within is beautiful and lends a cozy atmosphere, the staff is friendly and service great. Absolutely marvelous place and food. This cafe' offers such fine food combinations. We had eggs, ham and house potatoes which may sound pretty boring, instead they are served with a small cherry tomato salad with onions simmered in oil and vinegar, cucumbers and greek black olives, two slices of toast and cranberry marmelade. The house potatoes are seasoned with black pepper and are roasted in a small cast iron pan. Attention to details is incredible: the pan has a silicon trivet so your plate doesn't become hot. The chocolate pancake is delicious, comes in similar hot cast iron pan, and it is served with a mix of fruits (pineapple, strawberry and watermelon), cranberry marmelade and maple syrup. Generous hot pot of tea. The cafe' is super cozy, with neat interior decor and small white string lights. We LOVED it! read more
