They have 18 sauces so it's pretty clear that they're putting the emphasis on the sauces enhancing the chicken. I tried two tenders (all white meat, cooked well, decent breading). The batter could use a little more somethin', but it's Maine so I can forgive them for not trying to make anything too spicy for their customers. Fries are good too. I got my tendies with Nashville Hot and Bama White Sauce, two Southern standards I could compare to the likes of Hattie B's and Prince's with some accuracy. Nashville Hot is good -- tastes right, has a kick. We'd call it mild at Hattie B's and it would be just batter standard (no spice) at Prince's. It's their second hottest sauce and was enjoyable without being painful. Alabama White was also good, a bit sweeter than home but very tasty. A good follow up to the Nashville Hot! I also got a sample of the pimento cheese and it was excellent -- just like home. I'll definitely be back for some of that. Thanks Honeys!!

If I were to go back I would be a bit more inclined to get the fingers. They have good fries and an excellent honey mustard-perfect ratio of honey to mustard. They also have a Alabama-White Sauce which is rare up in the Northeast. Try a chicken sandwich with it some time. That's the way!!!

We arrived early and found a spot in the very small lot they have next to the building. There were plenty of street spots open within walking distance as well. The whole area fills up starting in late morning, so I would plan your trip and know all of your parking options in advance so that you aren't driving 5 miles an hour down the road looking for parking. LOL There is usually a wait, so just be prepared for it. I was able to put our name on the list and we walked around the area. Our server was great - wow was she energetic. Zipping around, smiling and engaging with all of the customers. Our food was delicious!! The sticky bun...we managed to snag one of the last few left. Again, get there early if you don't want to miss out. The corned beef hash - amazing Biscuits - YUM Gravy - savory goodness. Home fries - flavorful and not too greasy. Eggs - perfect! I highly recommend this place and I hope to be able to return again soon, during the non-tourist season.

Stopped in to get some snacks to eat while hiking: in keeping with local produce, got a blueberry bran muffin and a maple bun whose name I forget. The ingredients were great quality: you could taste the freshness of the blueberries and the purity of the maple syrup. The question, for me, is whether the baking elevates these ingredients beyond if I'd just had blueberries and maple syrup. About that, I'm not sure.

On a recent cruise we had a port stop in Rockland, ME. Instead of doing an excursion we decided to…read moredo one of those "go down this street and right" excursions where you make everything up as you. Since it was between breakfast and lunch we decided to stop into Atlantic Baking for a coffee and a pastry. Atlantic Baking is an unassuming shop right along what I'm going to consider a main street through Rockland. Not necessarily THE main street, but the Main-est we saw, so I'm sticking with that. Inside are several cases of pastries, breads, rolls, donuts and other baked goods that looked at me as if to say "I dare you". There was a cinnamon roll-ish thing that looked really good, and a Vanilla latte are what talked to me most. The staff (two young ladies on this morning) were busy hustling and, even with that, were helpful as they tried to keep taking care of customers. The vanilla latte was SUE-PERB, albeit a bit hot for my taste (had it let is cool first). As we sat having our halfway-between-breakfast-and-lunch-but-not-really-brunch snack there was a steady stream of customers, I'm guessing about 50/50 regulars and cruisers. Aside from pastries, coffees and teas, there's a cooler with canned/bottle beverages for the on-the-go beverage drinker. With as much activity as was going on during our visit you'd think it'd be difficult to keep clean, but there was a gentleman who came out frequently to take care of emptied tables, trash, etc. There are windows into the baking area, proving that they've got nothing to hide. Most everything is made on site with fresh, natural ingredients by people who take pride in what they do. Atlantic Baking is a charming place and a nice stop for a mid-morning snack

What an incredible experience at Claws in Rockland!…read more We arrived to find a long line outside, but right away we noticed something that told us a lot about this place: the staff was offering umbrellas to everyone waiting in line. Such a simple, thoughtful gesture, and such a great first impression! When it was our turn to order, we were helped by an incredibly pleasant and patient woman. Despite the long line behind us, she never made us feel rushed and was completely focused on making sure she got our order right. Then there was our waitress. WOW! She was a blonde woman, maybe around 35, and she was absolutely amazing. She was working incredibly hard--literally running circles around everyone else--yet she never stopped smiling. She was extremely friendly, attentive, and amazingly efficient. My husband and I both agreed she was one of the best waitresses we have ever seen. At one point, in the middle of everything she was juggling, a customer asked her to roll up one of the blinds. The timing could not have been worse because she was SO busy, and she actually had to climb onto a stool to reach it. But you would never have known what an inconvenience it was. She smiled, took care of it, and went right back to work without missing a beat. My husband and I own fast-food restaurants, so we understand just how difficult it is to provide that level of hospitality when you're slammed. We were so impressed with her work ethic and attitude that before we left, we discreetly gave her a $100 tip. She absolutely deserved it. And somehow, the food managed to be just as impressive as the service. The lobster was, without question, THE BEST LOBSTER WE HAVE EVER HAD IN OUR LIVES!!! Perfectly cooked, absolutely delicious, and everything we hoped for when coming to Maine. Claws gave us one of those dining experiences we'll remember long after our trip is over. Amazing lobster, thoughtful hospitality, and an exceptional waitress who truly stood out. If you're in Rockland and want lobster, do not miss Claws!
