The XLB has a decent skin ranging in thickness with a ton of broth from collagen and pork fat. I would even guess that almost half of it is pork fat. Personally, I would prefer more collagen than I can eat more but this will definitely fill you up quick. The fried buns are also nice and juicy, but prepared for that grease coming out. Thank you to the local Yelp reviews on this gem!…read more It's located in the Kam Man Supermarket plaza. I drive by here daily and never knew this local small mom and pop restaurant existed. The place is very busy on weekends so I'll recommend coming early or off hours - no during lunch or dinner times. My hubby and I visited on a Sunday around 1:30pm and there's a 10 minute wait for a table. The place is small so many orders are placed to go's. We placed our orders and the food came out pretty quick considering the number of people ordering from that small kitchen. Food is delicious. I love the soup dumplings and the beef and scallion wrap. The noodles were a bit spicy so if spicy isn't your thing, don't order it or tell the staff to inform the chef to not add the spice. Overall, we love the food and will be coming back to try other dishes.

The soup dumplings are a MUST-order, and this time we ordered a few different things to share. Highly recommend the beef tomato egg rice- so tender and so well-cooked, the fried oysters were delicately fried and savory and fresh, and the enoki tofu cucumber salad was delightful and well-balanced, pairs really well wit the fried oysters. The staff are always extremely fast and responsive despite all the busyness.

The food remains good and menu is still solid. I love the pan fried dumplings - it's one of my favorites! It marries a juicy dumpling with a crisp yet soft bun. Sounds confusing i know, but you have to try it to understand.... The savory soy bean soup/drink is a simple but delicious treat. I always have difficulty to decide whether i want the savory or sweet soy bean soup/drink. The beef noodle soup is flavorful and the beef is tender, but it is not spicy. The one thing that turns me away is the wait time. The wait is often very long (like 2 hours long). They have a waitlist program but you have to go there first to put your name on the list rather than doing it online.

Depending on how big your party is, you can order a combo for 2,3,4+ people, and the portion is generous! You can then pick how many toppings you want in your broth, and what sides you want. There are 3 broths to choose from, with 2 spicy, and 1 tomato (non spicy). The toppings can include vegetables like bok choy or enoki, all the way to glass noodles and spam. My favorite sides are the fried pork belly, and fried chicken wings. They do their fried foods well, and the 5 spice dipping powder is sooo good with it. Their cucumber salad, and the black noodles are cold dishes that are light and refreshing. The noodles are a bit on the sour side, so it's great to pair if you get a spicier or oilier soup. You can also pick from fish, beef or a combo. I'm from a seafood family, but surprisingly we pick beef most times. It's soo tender and it soaks up the flavors very well. It's worth a visit! You should definitely come try :)

Both arrived pretty fresh and piping hot, not stale. The main course of the small pot we chose with mild spicy flavor. It had a good numbing spicy kick though it a hint of the greasy taste that turns me off a little bit with these types of dishes. It wasn't overwhelmingly greasy, thankfully. Although the decor is simple, the bold use of red and gold makes it highly memorable--and the space is very clean. The bowls are made of thick, sturdy paper, with a beautiful red base and gold rim--both aesthetically pleasing and environmentally friendly. Ordering is done through a self-service kiosk, but there are still staff members nearby. When it's not busy, they are friendly and happy to assist with any questions. The Noodle in Scallion Sauce （上海葱油拌麵） has a rich scallion oil flavor with perfectly chewy noodles, while the Cold Noodle w.
