    D1. Beef Roll (4) 牛肉卷饼

For all you vegetarians and vegans, there is a ton of vegan vegetarian food here that I don't think is addressed online or on the menu. My dear friend and I found this place close to the house and read the Yelp reviews to base our decision on where to go. We decided to order from here and do a pick up. From the moment the food was picked up the ambience and the service was super nice and I was told the front girl was very sweet. (My friend went and picked up the food). We were so surprised for under $60 (see receipt) we got so much food!! It was so delicious and fresh, quickly prepared and absolutely authentically delicious. Will definitely be coming back here and so happy we found this place. It's easy to pick up since there is free parking inside. I always love to support a family run business. Definitely check them out. You will be happy you did!!

As in many locations in Southern California, this Brentwood location, once a Northern Cafe is now Dumpling Wei. I ordered the beef roll which is one of my favorites and hard to find outside of the San Gabriel Valley. It was not the best beef roll that I have had, but it was still very good. The beef could have been a bit warmer, but the flavor profile was as expected. With my beef Roll, I had the their Thai milk tea. The Thai ice tea was weak and light in flavor. Service was good. You order at the counter and they serve you when your order is ready. Parking was easy, covered, and free in the structure that also services Total Wines. Overall, I enjoyed my quick lunch and will come back to try some of their other menu items.

This is a story about a UCLA alum revisiting the Brentwood area and discovering a newly opened, authentic Chinese restaurant! Dumpling Wei, a women and AAPI-owned spot, serves both traditional Chinese dishes and Chinese-American favorites. We loved their dumpling series, including beef roll, potstickers, and, of course, xiao long bao - so juicy! Definitely a quick, delicious bite for fellow Bruins. Other favorites include noodle dishes like golden beef belly noodles and fried noodles, with both spicy and non-spicy options to satisfy every palate. Don't miss the wontons in chili oil and the hand-pulled pancake with lamb - absolute must-tries! IG: socalhkfoodies

Everything we ordered hit! The pork xiaolongbao were juicy and packed with flavor, the pork wontons in chili oil had the perfect kick, and the cold cucumber with chili oil is a must-try. We also loved the crispy chili chicken with rice, beef roll, hand-pulled lamb pancake, and golden belly beef noodle soup, so comforting and satisfying. Portions are generous, the staff is friendly, and the vibe is casual but welcoming. If you're a dumpling or noodle lover, this place needs to be on your list!

The food was amazing! The garlic was perfect! We tried so many dishes. The quality of the food is very good! Everything was fresh and was made when we ordered. I really cant tell you what was my favorite because they were all so good! I was really happy with how juicy the dumplings were! And the spicy level was just right! Not dramatic just a perfect hint of spicy! The cucumbers were fresh and a nice palette cleanser to really get the flavor of the next dish! The service was great, you go up to the counter to order and they bring you the food to your table. Highly recommend it!

Wow, delicious dim sum- my favorites were the beef rolls and spicy pork dumplings. Everything was delicious and the service was great . Parking easy on the street or garage.

This place has great soup dumplings. The food here is definitely solid and I will be coming back. In addition, all the orders were very nice sized so I ordered too much food for my friend and I. The girl that works here was extremely nice and helpful. She definitely showed concern about how our meal was and taking good care of us. I would definitely give it a try if you're in the area.

    Raw, uncooked shrimp dumplings

I WAS SERVED RAW, UNCOOKED SHRIMP AND NOW HAVE FOOD POISONING. Placed a takeout order here. Once I got home I ate a dumpling that was super cold. On my second dumpling, I realized that the shrimp inside was RAW. Completely grey and raw. None of the dumplings I was given were cooked at all. The wrapper was uncooked, shrimp uncooked. The manager Jatzi was apologetic on the phone but there's no changing the fact that I was given uncooked food. I now have food poisoning from eating the raw shrimp that was given to me. Beware of this place, if you dine here, make sure you check if your food is even cooked.

Just opened- although the restaurant before this one used to be a different dumpling spot with a similar menu. This one has better options for people who don't eat certain foods - which I was very happy with. They never had chicken for their chili dumplings (only pork), so it was the first thing I ordered, and it was very tasty. A great option for lunch on a workday! I do recommend you call in and order ahead of time for pickup (especially if you're on a time crunch). I waited 15-20 minutes for the 2 items I ordered. 8 out of 10 for me.

Very good, even better than before. Fresh and hot. Friendly staff checked on us. We enjoyed several different dishes including soup dumplings and chicken soup wonton. Green beans were cooked well. Love living a block away.

Really excited to have this addition to Brentwood/WestLA. They have a great menu that mixes some familiar Chinese-American options and some more traditional dishes, like their dumpling options, noodles and their rolls. The first time I came, I ordered the lamb sandwich on the flaky pancake. The lamb was flavorful and I loved the ample amounts of cilantro they include with it. The size of it was very generous! It's definitely a full meal. However, it was very oily. The first half was pretty good. The pancake or bing is very flaky. However, by the time I got to the second half, the bottom of the bing/sandwich was completely soaked in the oil. The second time, I got the lao gan ma noodles. It was very flavorful. I do wish it was a bit spicier, especially since it also includes "lao gan ma" in the name, so I expected some of that chili sauce in it. The noodles remind me of "shanghai fried noodles" with the brown sauce and a decent amount of veggies. I'm excited to come back again to try other items on the menu. Lamb noodles and spicy wontons look really intriguing.

Beef roll! So big and crispy!

WOW. this place is absolutely delicious! The service was excellent. we asked for recommendations and were so glad we did. We wanted to try as much as possible, so we ordered the cucumber salad, beef rolls, braised beef noodle soup, pork dan dan noodles, and the spicy pork wontons. Everything was amazing. We also tried the green milk tea, which was so good. As a huge tea lover, I really appreciated how fragrant it was, super yummy! Overall, every dish was a hit, but our favorites were definitely the spicy wontons and the beef rolls. We'll absolutely be coming back!

Har gow wrapper was too thick/chewy and stuck together. Custard bun was dry. Shrimp rice noodle roll was just ok. The food was mediocre. Do yourself a favor and just make the drive to the SGV. Service was worse than could be expected. We were a table for 2 at 9:30AM on a Saturday. We didn't expect to be sat immediately, but we definitely did not expect for three walk-ins *after* us to be sat before we were. Parties of 3, 5, and 8 were all sat before us. I understand as a host, you must maximize space and seat according to size but seriously? They simply didn't want to waste a *whole table* on 2. After 25 minutes they sat us at a 6-person table in the back corner and she said, "You share this table," implying we would be a group table if another small party walked in. Then, no menu, no water, no napkins, no plates until we asked for each individually. Lo and behold, there were still at least 5 open tables an hour later, and we did not in fact need to have other parties join us... the food was definitely not worth this treatment.

This shop is best known for having one of the most affordable dim sum selections across the entire Los Angeles. [Parking]: Metered parking only with some paid parking lot options available. Our party came here on Sunday at 8 AM and had no issue finding available metered parking spots. Metered parking is free on Sundays. [Atmosphere]: Nothing to write home about. The expectation is to come here knowing exactly what to order so that you can leave in less than 10 minutes. [Menu]: All baked items have both Chinese and English labels. Yelp's top recommended options include Steamed BBQ Pork Buns, Baked BBQ Buns, Baked Pineapple Buns, Special Chicken Buns, Pork Shumai, and Shrimp Dumplings (Har Gow). The shop also sells porridge, cookies, mooncakes, Chinese tamales, etc. *** Steamed BBQ Pork Bun ($1.40): The bun was hot and tasted good. Baked BBQ Bun ($1.80): This semi-sweet bun had a larger portion than the Steamed BBQ Pork Bun and this is definitely the one to order. Custard or Egg Tart ($1.60): Very flaky and it tasted better than I expected. *** Long story short - this bakery sells some of the cheapest dim sum you will find in Los Angeles. Are they some of the best dim sum items you will find? Not exactly, but they are fairly decent and $10 can stretch very far at this bakery.

For being located in the heart of Chinatown, would you expect anything less? The thing that I like most about this place is that I can get almost anything that I would order at any of the nearby fancier sit-down Chinese restaurants, but this place is built especially for quick / take- out = no tip needed. FOOD: Fried Shrimp Balls - 9.0 / 10 Up there with any Chinese restaurant's dim sum. Understandably smaller over the years. Pro-tip: heat these bad boys in the oven, toaster oven, or air fryer. Serve alongside sweet & sour sauce. Pork Shumai - 9.0 / 10 Again, up there with any of your typical sit-down dim sum place. Pro-tip: make an easy + quick sipping sauce with 1/3 soy sauce + 2/3 spiced white vinegar. You're welcome Shrimp Har gow - 8.9 / 10 One of the most traditional Cantonese dumplings. Incredibly light. If you plan to eat these later, I highly suggest steaming them as the outer skin can get dry. There's so, so much food here, but whenever I am in the area, these are my non negotiables. Seriously, it is such a life-hack to be able to do a "Panda Express" style order for more traditional Chinese / Chinese-American favorites without all the hoopla. Don't be surprised if there's a line, depending on what time of the day you go.
