xiao long bao, curry chicken puff, tempura shrimp

My overall impression was ok. There is a fairly large selection of items, which is nice - including rice dishes and some puff pastry items which are less commonly seen. Not cheap and portions are kind of small, but this way you are able to try several kinds of dim sum.

Was with a bunch of guys before a UCLA basketball game, so no photos other than the menu. We were hungry and wanted a somewhat quick bite. There are a few tables on the outside patio, otherwise it's a good to-go place if you're local or not traveling far. We ordered a whole bunch of things and it was all delicious. The staff is super nice and the prices are quite reasonable. I had been hearing about this place for a while and it lived up to the hype. As far as do not miss items... I'd say the Xiao Long Bao, The Cha Siu Bao and the Garlic Noodles! And I'd also add the Chicken Over Rice. If you're looking for something easy and tasty and well priced in Westwood, this is the place!

Decided to check this place out as it was near our hotel. It's a very small place with mostly outdoor seating. There are several screens on that wall which you can order your food. I actually really like this because you can see pictures of the food and take your time ordering. Since it was our first time here we took a long time to decide what we wanted. We decided on several different things. The lady was very nice when she brought out our food and quickly came out to clean the table after we were done. Everything tasted so fresh and delicious. We liked it a lot. I would definitely come back and try other things.

One of my favorite places in LA for a quick delicious bite! The employees there are always friendly and prompt. I even got a free pork bun today - how sweet!

Such a great spot for authentic, flavorful dim sum at very reasonable prices (almost everything on the menu is under $10). I ordered the xiao long bao and chicken noodle soup, but the noodles were the standout for me. The broth was packed with flavor and the chicken was juicy and well-seasoned. The perfect comfort meal. Service was also very quick. Definitely one of my new favorite spots in Westwood.

Restaurant was quick, clean and staff were pleasant. We had several dishes and enjoyed them all. Our family enjoys dim sum carts, but this was good for a quick lunch. Good was fresh and hot. The chicken bao and soup dumplings were my personal favorites.

I was trying out various restaurants in westwood and came across this one, pretty small place but lots of outdoor seating, super nice for a quick bite and for pretty good prices too! it's mostly online order or kiosk-ran so not too much on customer service but the employees were friendly I got pickled cucumbers which are a little too vinegary and strong sesame oil flavors for my personal preference I really liked the har gow, their filling is really plump and juicy I also loved the pan fried turnip cake, there's a slight crisp of the fried outer layer and it's not too dense

Pork and shrimp siu mai, char siu baos, shrimp wontons, pork soup noodles

Actually so bomblicious. I have heard such great things about this dim sum place and was not disappointed. My friend and I ordered the pork and shrimp siu mai, shrimp wonton, char siu steamed baos, and the pork soup noodles. Was a little pricey, but I would say pretty standard for a dim sum place. I absolutely love how juicy and tender the filling was for the siu mai. The siu mai and shrimp wonton were also pretty sizable as well. My favorite dish that we ordered was definitely the char siu baos. The baos were SO NICE AND FLUFFY and the char siu was so soft and perfectly flavored. I'm always hesitant about bao fillings because sometimes the meat would be really fatty but the meat in these baos were so tender. The soup noodles were also pretty good as well. Lots of noodles actually, we were not able to finish all the noodles. I would say 3 to 4 items is a good size to share for two people. ALSO ALSO the workers were actually so sweet. They brought out our take out when or oder was ready which was really nice as we didn't have to go in to get our food.

Atrocious street parking + small takeout restaurant with some outside seating + friendly service. We got the har gow ($7), siu mai ($7), pork xlbs ($7), shrimp wonton with chili oil ($7), and chicken over rice noodles ($7). I thought the food was okay, would get it out of convenience.

This place feels like fast food Dim Sum. They had a pretty good selection and our food came out fast. The soup dumplings were pretty good and so we're the dumplings. Overall a good experience and pretty fast meal.

Only went in for a sweet treat. I seriously LOVE egg tarts and this place makes them perfectly. Also paid less than $7 for 3 of them which is such a great deal. It was a really quick interaction and the worker was sweet, she told me they make them fresh daily. I need to come back and try their actual food next time, I'm sure it's also great and authentic.

Service was worse than could be expected. We were a table for 2 at 9:30AM on a Saturday. We didn't expect to be sat immediately, but we definitely did not expect for three walk-ins *after* us to be sat before we were. Parties of 3, 5, and 8 were all sat before us. I understand as a host, you must maximize space and seat according to size but seriously? They simply didn't want to waste a *whole table* on 2. After 25 minutes they sat us at a 6-person table in the back corner and she said, "You share this table," implying we would be a group table if another small party walked in. Then, no menu, no water, no napkins, no plates until we asked for each individually. Lo and behold, there were still at least 5 open tables an hour later, and we did not in fact need to have other parties join us... the food was definitely not worth this treatment.

Our party came here on Sunday at 8 AM and had no issue finding available metered parking spots. Metered parking is free on Sundays. [Atmosphere]: Nothing to write home about. The expectation is to come here knowing exactly what to order so that you can leave in less than 10 minutes. [Menu]: All baked items have both Chinese and English labels. Yelp's top recommended options include Steamed BBQ Pork Buns, Baked BBQ Buns, Baked Pineapple Buns, Special Chicken Buns, Pork Shumai, and Shrimp Dumplings (Har Gow). The shop also sells porridge, cookies, mooncakes, Chinese tamales, etc. *** Steamed BBQ Pork Bun ($1.40): The bun was hot and tasted good. Baked BBQ Bun ($1.80): This semi-sweet bun had a larger portion than the Steamed BBQ Pork Bun and this is definitely the one to order. For being located in the heart of Chinatown, would you expect anything less? The thing that I like most about this place is that I can get almost anything that I would order at any of the nearby fancier sit-down Chinese restaurants, but this place is built especially for quick / take- out = no tip needed. FOOD: Fried Shrimp Balls - 9.0 / 10 Up there with any Chinese restaurant's dim sum. Understandably smaller over the years. Pro-tip: heat these bad boys in the oven, toaster oven, or air fryer. Serve alongside sweet & sour sauce. Pork Shumai - 9.0 / 10 Again, up there with any of your typical sit-down dim sum place. Pro-tip: make an easy + quick sipping sauce with 1/3 soy sauce + 2/3 spiced white vinegar. You're welcome Shrimp Har gow - 8.9 / 10 One of the most traditional Cantonese dumplings. Incredibly light. If you plan to eat these later, I highly suggest steaming them as the outer skin can get dry. There's so, so much food here, but whenever I am in the area, these are my non negotiables. Seriously, it is such a life-hack to be able to do a "Panda Express" style order for more traditional Chinese / Chinese-American favorites without all the hoopla. Don't be surprised if there's a line, depending on what time of the day you go.

Like, one time I was watching Project Runway, a season finale episode, where the designers make their own creations, and do not have to make their ensembles from shredded newspaper or bird seeds or pinata remnants. And after a so-and-so of the fashion industry said, "I wanted to go and rip that jacket off the model." This other time, I saw a poster for a coming musical and it said, "stop everything you are doing, and go this musical now" says this important person in the theathre world. What am I am trying to say is that the comment I wanted to do this immediately or drop everything and do this immediately is so overwrought and widely used that it lost all meaning. Kind of like calling this place an institution. So I will call this place what I should to not be drown in my own trite. One time I went to this place and I went cause I was invited to a birthday party. And it was a large group of people. Me and a friend debated if Penny, from the Big Bang, had eaten at this place. She was also in Charmed--- it is a household name, I can't remember it. So this place is famous enough to be a go to move, and it has many pictures of celebrities that have gone there. The food is also super good, so this place, like I said is an insititution. When I went there a second time, I was more aware of the place I was visiting and kind of was ready to receive its Chinese fare with an unhinged jaw. I was dining with a friend, the same friend that I had the is that Penny from Big Bang debate? It was not. She eventually one. But like she and I ate here again, without knowing we were going to the same place. I would say its a small world but.... She and I ate with gusto. Rice, Beef with Brocoli, Pan fried dumplings, and dumpings. It was the type of Chinese food that was so good a coke was needed to balance the decadent saltiness of the fare. Yeah, that might not make sense but I wrote what I wrote. We had eniugh food to share between the two of us. It was that type of meal, where leftovers were welcomed and made sense. They were not left over, they were left untouched because it would be a shame to not enjoy them later. The service was great. The place felt traditional, and like it took you to an alley in China to eat a grandmother's food who knows how to use a Wok and pinch dumplings so they stay close for good.
