I was in LA visiting some friends about two weeks ago. We were craving dim sum and this spot was nearby! We got a variety of dim sum and shared, but my personal favorites were the XLB and the spicy chili oil wontons. However, our dining experience was just not great. We ordered our food and while we were waiting, a lady who I'm assuming was the owner/manager had some of the employees moving the umbrellas around. I don't know why they didn't wait until there were no customers, but they almost hit us multiple times and it kinda ruined our meal even though we were really excited to eat!! Even the girl bringing the food had to duck while she was serving us. The lady was rudely directing the employees for the entire time we were eating, and it was incredibly off putting and distracting overall. Funnily enough, on our way back, we walked past the restaurant a bit later and she was still there yelling at employees so I can't imagine how many more customers had their meals ruined! Decided to check this place out as it was near our hotel. It's a very small place with mostly outdoor seating. There are several screens on that wall which you can order your food. I actually really like this because you can see pictures of the food and take your time ordering. Since it was our first time here we took a long time to decide what we wanted. My friend and I ordered the pork and shrimp siu mai, shrimp wonton, char siu steamed baos, and the pork soup noodles. Was a little pricey, but I would say pretty standard for a dim sum place. I absolutely love how juicy and tender the filling was for the siu mai. The siu mai and shrimp wonton were also pretty sizable as well. My favorite dish that we ordered was definitely the char siu baos. The baos were SO NICE AND FLUFFY and the char siu was so soft and perfectly flavored. I'm always hesitant about bao fillings because sometimes the meat would be really fatty but the meat in these baos were so tender. The soup noodles were also pretty good as well. I ordered the Taiwanese cabbage, the vegetarian baos, and the steamed seafood pearls, and omg the food is so fresh. The steamed seafood pearls are the best: juicy and bouncy. The taste is beyond. The cabbage and the baos need a little dressing up with the sauce, but overall super fresh and healthy. I ordered to go and Jenny at the front was really nice in explaining the menu to me. Will definitely come back to try the fried dumplings and different baos. A++ recommend. One note: they do use a lot of plastic. I'm aware that a lot of the food is steamed and comes out super hot. I enjoy coming here and it is always a vibe. It is so difficult to be selective when you are hungry, so I ordered a large selection to make sure that I would take home different choices. I ended up getting the Xiao Long Bao, Cha Siu Bao, Chicken Siu Mai, and a side of rice. The Xiao Long Bao consisted of 5 pieces of juicy pork dumplings where each had ground pork, ginger, garlic, scallion, and cabbage. There were 3 pieces for the Cha Siu Bao, which was a chopped BBQ honey roast pork bao. It's a traditional dim sum experience, with freshly prepared dishes on carts that offer instant gratification for the diners. At Ixlb, you order the dishes ahead, most likely from a kiosk, and wait 10-15 minutes for them to be delivered in togo containers at an outdoor dining area. I get it, this workflow streamlines the process of food delivery and payment, and it cuts down staff time and ordering errors. Nevertheless, being responsible for so many plastic containers does make me feel guilty. The foods themselves are good. They weren't the best, but I wasn't expecting getting the best dim sum in Westwood either. Each dish tasted authentic and traditional. The shrimp chive dumplings were flavorful and fresh, and the daikon cakes were crispy and fragrant. They came with small packs of soy sauce and chili oil, but I wish the house special sauce would be supplied without extra cost. I brought my dog with me and we sat in the corner. I ordered the har gow, spicy shrimp wontons, scallion pancakes, and sesame ball. This was definitely way too much food- you get a lot of food for the price so two dishes would've been better. The shrimp wontons were good and generously filled, but I wanted more of the spicy sauce. The har gow had a great wrapper but the shrimp inside was a little overcooked and not super juicy. For food that is served hot, I really dislike getting it closed to-go because the containers can kind of cause things to be steamed a little bit, so I made sure to take the container lids off sooner rather than later. I thought everything was just OK and I would only recommend coming here for takeout because you have a specific craving and aren't willing to drive for it (which is understandable since good options on the Westside for dim sum are far and few between). Like the original branch in Hollywood, the quick-service restaurant serves dim sum and other assorted dishes for takeout. That means that your food will be packaged in a plastic or paper container, whether you (1) choose to eat at one of the restaurant's few outdoor tables or (2) take your food to the office or home. As the name of the restaurant implies, the restaurant specializes in dim sum, but the selection of traditional items is relatively limited. For instance, you will not find cheung fun or ham sui gok here. Of the things we've ordered, we would recommend: pork siu mai, har gao, pan-fried dumplings, cha siu bao, and pineapple custard bun. While our favorite dim sum restaurants remain in the SGV, we'll make an occasional exception for ixlb Dimsum Eats when we're not willing to brave traffic across town, as the food is decent quality for the right price ($5-7 per dish). Since its initial opening, the restaurant has improved its operation, and we've found its pickup estimates to be relatively accurate when ordering food online. As someone who does not live or work in Westwood, I find the only major problem is parking. In general I like the selection, freshness and portion size of the dim sum. The service was very fast. Minus the first star: a bunch of our dim sum wrappers fell apart even when we were trying to be delicately eat them or lift them. XLB (pictured) and Har gow were very susceptible. Minus the second star: even though we chose dine in, everything came out in disposable bundles, which really contributed to a ton of packaging waste for our $70 worth of dim sum. Note: for the ambiance, they only have outdoor seating if you choose to dine in. While there's nothing to be done by the restaurant about the nearby homeless community, that's an unfortunate and regrettable reality in this part of Westwood. It's not quite the dimsum level I crave when I want good dim sum but it's local in Westwood and the only dimsum place for this price in this side of West LA. I wouldn't even call them cheap- they serve small portions of 3 or 4 for around $6, which means 3 portions = a 10-dim sum serving = $18 Which is Din Tai Fung price for 10 dumplings. But the fact they offer small portions to allow for this lower price point is nice! A lot of their items depend heavily on the sugar- the outside of the bbq pork bun, the siu mai, etc. But they hit the spot. I was pretty hungry after four orders but I eat a lot so your value may vary. Overall, ixlb adds nice Asian variety to Westwood, which next to Tocaya and Tulsi Indian eatery across the street makes this general area an even more fantastic little foodie hub conveniently right in Westwood Village. read more

This place is right in Westwood, super easy and fast takeout- and they pack everything so nicely. Super clean store. The portions are so fair too!
