I went here with family and enjoyed the atmosphere. Service was good. We drink a lot of water and as service progressed they didn't do water refills as much but I think it was because it got busier. The food we ordered was overall pretty good. We ordered: Chili wontons: meat was well seasoned and had the right bite to it. Pan fried thumb dumplings. These were great. I liked the starchy ring around them and again, seasoned very well . Cashew chicken: I didn't like this much. The chicken I think tasted like white meat (I don't like white meat chicken) cashews were good. Beef roll appetizer: not as good as 88 bao bao, could use a side saucer of hoisin but done competently. TERRIBLE SERVICE Just returned from this place about 5 minutes ago. I'm still steamed from the experience. As a former host and server for 6 years in the restaurant business, I know when restaurants discriminate against clients and when the staff is well-trained. We (both Asian Americans) entered the restaurants. There were 4 total tables available, 2 tables for 2, and 2 tables for 4. We planned ordering a lot of food that wouldn't fit on a table for two and also, i absolutely cannot stand sitting near the door near the host station as the area becomes crowded with waiting guests and Uber Eats drivers coming to pick up their order. So, I requested a table away from the door (there were 2 x 4 seat tables in the corner). The host refused and so the Chinese lady waiter checked around the corner of the restaurant, wasn't a table, so she directed us back to the same 2 tables. I asked what about the 4 seat tables and she shook her head no. I was thiiiis close to walking out w/ my wife, but we were hungry so we stayed but ordered only two dumplings. As we were waiting to order, a non-Asian couple walked right in. They were directed to the other 2-seat table and she refused that seat as well. So the Chinese waitress just directed them to one of the 4 seat tables. I have seen this one too many times as a former host and waiter. I was livid as you could imagine. My wife could tell I wanted to leave but persuaded me to stay as we made it out here from a previous attempt. MID FOOD; SALTY AH We ordered crab XLB and some kind of salty as hell shumai of some sort. While the crab XLB had some merit, the mushroom shumai or whatever it was was terribly salty. And also, these people didn't even bring out ginger slices. not to mention, it was delivered so late that the XLB was cold. What kind of XLB place worth its salt doesn't bring out ginger with it??? RETURN VISIT? NOPE. Went in on a Tuesday evening for dinner with the family and the place was buzzing! The servers were very attentive, the wait was short (around 10 minutes for our party of 3), and the ambiance was lively but not overwhelming. Susu, our server, kindly explained the most popular dishes and even gave some of her personal recommendations. Service was fast and the food was fresh and hot. Only notes I would make are the ratio of pork to beef or chicken dishes seemed skewed (perhaps that was the genre of cuisine) and there were not any vegetable options for kids (or I just missed it). Any new restaurant in Flower Mound is worth a try, especially any Asian option! We stopped in and were greeted right away. We had a short wait and were shown to a table and the service throughout our meal was very attentive. The restaurant is well appointed and has more seating than one might expect. We had the Chicken/Corn Potstickers, Beef Pancake Roll, Thumb Buns, and Orange Chicken. We tried to get the cold noodles with beef but were told they were out of it. The dumplings were tasty but had very little corn while the Thumb Buns were tasty all around. The Beef Roll was good (Thank you for not deep frying the pancake!) but could have used more green onion and Hoisin. The Orange Chicken was the biggest disappointment. We asked for it extra spicy and it was not spicy whatsoever and was very sweet. The chicken pieces were large and well cooked but the sweetness of the dish was disappointing. Overall everything was just above average overall and we were honestly hoping for more. They were sold out of ribs an hour after opening. No clue about drinks. It took three tries to get it right. I ordered hot & sour soup at the same time and got a clumpy mess. The orange chicken had a good flavor and they use good quality chicken but the pieces were cut too but g, the broccoli is served cold, and the rice is mushy. My wife got Lo Mein which was broken into little bits and had very few veggies in it. There are no condiments on the tables and the noodles could have used some soy sauce or hot oil. The other dish was chicken with huge pieces of broccoli which were mushy for the florets and raw on the stems. We ordered scallion pancakes which came out last and were still raw. Birthday dinner at Dumpling Queen was such a great experience! We celebrated with a group of girls and since they're BYOB right now everyone brought a bottle of wine which made it even more fun. We started with the green beans (10/10!), crispy tofu (SO good), a light and refreshing cucumber salad (perfect palate cleanser) and beef pancakes (not everyone's favorite but I really enjoyed them). Then we shared an assortment of dumplings. Every single one was delicious and the beef noodles which was an easy 10/10. By dessert I was in a full-on food coma but the lava bao was absolutely worth saving room for. I've been so excited to try this place out and their dumplings didn't disappoint other than one unfortunate mishap. All the dumplings are very flavorful and almost didn't need any sauce as all. The wrapper is thin yet not too fragile. The Xiao long bao has great amount of soup on the inside. The only that I'm quite disappointed about is that I received the wrong Xiao long bao order. As seen on my received and an order ticket left in the Xiao long bao container, I ordered the crab Xiao long bao but the regular one was delivered... I believe it giving a second, or third, chances. Unfortunately they have some kinks to work out. The evening started with an overwhelmed front desk gentleman confusing patrons and walk in pick up orders. Once seated, our very kind Asian waiter took our order by pointing at the menu and entering it in his tablet. The food was delivered and was tasty (we got the rainbow dumplings and chicken lettuce wraps which did have a bit of bone in the meat but had a good flavor). The problem came when we wanted to sample the soup dumpling. A different lady "took" our order but didn't enter it, and 15, 30, 45 minutes later still no food even after flagging down the lady and our original waiter and trying to contact the host. They said their POS system went down, and other unhappy patrons were leaving. Not sure if we'll try it again or not. Lots of children there as well with big messes on the floor. We were rethinking our choice to go here from the moment we saw the condition of their exterior patio. It was like a junk yard full of mismatched furniture and chairs placed upside down with legs in the air along with a slew of other trash items. We were seated at a 2 person table next to the bar mistake... the place was not organized or tidy which made me question food service. There were white buckets piled on a table with a random workers purse sitting out. Behind the bar you saw a mix of electronic gadgets and unorganized items everywhere. My trip to the ladies room found no toilet paper or spare, paper towel all on the floor, and a loose plumbing handle that moved away from the wall when you flushed the toilet. We ordered the multicolored dumplings, vegetable fried rice, and schezuan chicken with fried rice, a diet coke and hot jasmine tea. The coke was sent back as it tasted like some strange low bargain brand. The jasmine tea was delayed due to a hot water issue... what??? The schezuan chicken came with white rice which had to be corrected. The dumplings were served basically as dessert as the timing was very delayed. None of the food was worth writing about. In fact we commented Trader Joe's has better frozen dumplings. I refused a to go box for the left over schezuan chicken. Who doesn't take home Chinese food which says a lot. That crappy diet coke knock off was $3. I was astonished at the number of people in the restaurant. All I can say is if this was located any other place but Flower Mound it would not be around. Our Asian culinary choices are very limited so I guess this is better than traveling to Plano where it truly is something to write about. Total bill was $62 prior to tip. read more

Disappointing experience tonight. I arrived at 8:38 PM, and the posted closing time is 9:00 PM. Unfortunately, I was told they were already closed and couldn't serve me, even though there were still more than 20 minutes before closing. I completely understand that staff need time to clean up and close for the night, but if the kitchen or last orders end before the posted closing time, that should be clearly communicated. Customers rely on the posted hours when deciding whether to stop by. I made the trip expecting to be served and left disappointed. I hope the restaurant updates its hours or clearly posts a "last seating" or "last order" time to help avoid the same experience for others. read more
