SERVICE - located on st marks pl in east village near Astor place - very small interior with seating for about 10-15 people - looks like a mostly takeout spot - ambiance good for a casual meal - service was polite but not overly friendly - food served quickly MENU - variety of dumplings and noodle soups - vegan/vegetarian options available - average price ($18 per person) FOOD - massaman curry noodle soup (6/10): kale noodles topped with four massaman curry vegetable dumplings, bokchoy, garlic, and scallions in a salty clear broth. If I was just rating the dumplings I would have given them a higher score. On their own they are flavorful though not very spicy, and have a pleasant blend of al dente vegetables. I was not a huge fan of the rest of the soup components. The broth was bland and just tasted like salted water. The noodles were chewy but also not adding much to the dish. If the broth also had a curry flavor I think that would have helped make the noodles more of a standout meal. WOULD I GO BACK? Possibly for the dumplings on their own.

went in right at opening and asked for "the giant" party platter-- they made it very quick and were very kind! Definitely feeds up to 3 people. Went to the park and ate the party platter outside and I couldn't think of better way to spend a weekend catch up! Fan of the dumplings (noodles were a smidge bland for me)! Cheers!

we stopped in for a quick bite to hold us over before our late dinner reservation. the server was nice and asked if we have been before and explained there were some new items on the menu. the space inside is small with a few tables and chairs. the dumplings arrived fast and hot. they were delicious!! i've had the pork dumplings before and they were also good. it's a great place for unique dumplings and they also have some vegetarian ones too!

A tiny hole in the wall place that has dumplings and soups- the food was overall extremely poor quality. Noodles were ok, broth was clearly packaged, dumplings were horrible. The cashier also was not very nice and their prices are not cheap for what they offer.

Came here twice and got "The Giant" $45 plate both times where you can mix and match a bunch of regular flavored dumplings since it's most worth it. Some flavors are absolutely terrible in my opinion where I literally spit it out and so did my guest (who can eat anything and everything), there are only a few classic ones that tasted normal and that's what we loaded up on. The food was alright, not particularly yummy by any means either time but was alright. The food came only slightly warm and they aren't even dumplings but sui mais. Definitely so much better options elsewhere

Small restaurant with a few tables to sit inside and a very friendly worker to get you through the door and with a menu! I have never seen another restaurant with thai dish inspired dumplings so i love that this is a thing. Thai lover set - perfect size for 2 people to share and have a light dinner since each flavor comes in 2s. We were pretty contently full after as well as the dumplings are packed with filling and not small. From top to bottom: tom yum - very spicy and flavorful. i liked this a lot but if i had too many of just this flavor it might be too spicy. 3.5/5 Pad thai - sweet and juicy! this was good. 3.5/5 unsure if this is the green curry or thai basil - good but nothing crazy 2.75/5 crab fried rice - understand the concept but don't think it works well here. felt so carb heavy with thicker dumpling skin on this one specifically plus being filled with rice. 1/5 unsure if this is the green curry or thai basil - good but nothing crazy 2.5/5 massaman curry - this one was too dry for my taste. there doesn't seem to be sauce inside and didnt feel like the taste went well with the dumpling. 1/5

No frills, hole in the wall, casual eatery. No restrooms, which is a star off. Had to run to the nearest bar afterwards. Inconvenient, so be warned. Food is prepared and served quickly. Small menu of dumplings. Customers eat quickly and are on their merry way. Tiny seating space. Only five tiny tables. Grab and go kind of place. Tried "the giant" $45, which was good to share, if you're a couple. Comes with noodles and 20 dumplings. We chose kale noodles, which were tasty. The sweet & salty broth that the noodles were served in added body to the sweet-ish noodles. The dumplings were okay. You cannot get the best four best selling types of dumplings in this dish, so you will be limited to simpler items. All the dumplings we sampled [excluding the top four best selling types], tasted identical, as they all had a chicken & pork minced meat mix base. The "flavors" were added on top--one shrimp, one octopus piece, one salmon piece. We preferred the shrimp and octopus ones. The dough on dumplings was light and not too thick, so that was good. Did not feel greasy or heavy after consuming this meal. The chilly oil that comes with dumplings order was delicious. It is available for sale for $8 per small jar. A note of caution. Sorry for TMI. We both experienced some stomach issues after our dinner. My bf had insanely toxic gas, which almost poisoned us throughout the night. I had severe constipation and stomach cramps. We both had issues with going to the toilet, as the experience proved painfully challenging.

Great place to stop for a quick bite. A 3 step walk down from street leads to neon lit cozy eatery with 6 orange tables. Shared the Thai Lover's dumpling sampler and Buko Pandan desert. Was fun tasting and comparing each flavor - Tom Yum dumpling had a perfect spice level topped with a shrimp - thought I was eating my Thai favorite soup. The Buko Pandan was refreshing cool and delicious...recalling fond Bangkok memories eaten on hot dusty streets. Too bad I'm not a NYC faculty or student so I can come back and get the discount.

You can't find a more welcoming place in St. Marks. The moment we entered this tiny Thai eatery, we were greeted by a super friendly and personable host. We tried three of their dumplings signatures: the chicken Pad Thai, the Tom Yum and the Thai pork basil. They were all solid, but next time I will probably get 3 orders of the chicken Pad Thai, as these are simply sensational. DO try their 2 sauces, even better if combined for a fantastic concoction of flavors. The place is super tiny but incredibly beautiful: plants, elegant trays, mirrors, lively, paint job, cool music. You will not regret going.

I had a craving for dumplings and stopped by here with a friend during our lunch break, I've always wanted to try it out so thank you friend for the opportunity! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the super kind and friendly person behind the register. She was super patient with us and had amazing recc's based on what either one of us were craving. The space itself is pretty intimate but also really cooly decorated, very trendy! They were also playing all the heights from the 2000's and early aughts so it just made eating there a super fun experience in general. Everything was super hot and fresh! I got the Dumpling & Noodles combo with octopus dumplings. The broth was sweeter than I was expecting but a flavor that paired really nicely with the crazy amounts of chilli oil I ended putting in there my friend also got the Dumpling & Noodles without any broth and chicken dumplings. Overall a super filling meal and we ended up walking out with left overs, high spirits and satisfied bellies. Definitely check them out!

My favorites were the spicy pork and the pad thai. Shrimp dumpling and noodle: dumplings were great, the noodles were a bit too sweet for my preferences Pork skin: pretty good Seaweed salad: pretty good Really enjoyed the chili crunch that came with our order as well. Was a fun, unique meal for a Sunday change of pace.

UNDERRATED GEM ‼‼‼‼ Bella and her team have brought front and center what so many of us glaze over in the appetizers menu: thai dumplings! I walked into this spot on a whim after class with my boyfriend and I am SO happy we did. Every single dumpling was marvelous! I love the focus on different dumplings with Thai flavors--especially the green curry and pork basil! I wish I took a photo of it beforehand. Also absolutely love how many sauces come with your order! As a Sauce Girl™ I loved the variety in flavors across each one instead of the typical soy sauce and chili oil. (Although those are featured too !) overall, delicious, quick bite with a fantastic story. I will absolutely be coming back! Quick tip: feel free to order the sampler dumplings! I found this place in Yelp street my initial lunch option fell through and I'm so glad I stopped by. They offer Thai fusion dumplings with plenty of filling options-chicken, pork, shrimp, octopus. You can also choose a meal variation that comes with four dumplings of your choice, bok Choi, and kale noodles. I overheard someone saying it was their second day in a row getting lunch there and I can see why. I went with the chicken dumplings and they were so tasty, especially with the sauce. I can't eat spicy so the lady kindly offered to serve it on the side and I'm grateful because the chili sauce was quite spicy. The sweet soy sauce on the side was perfect to dip the dumplings in although they were very generous with the amount of sauce that came on the noodles. The kale noodles were a perfect side and I loved the chewy texture. The bowl was a perfect portion size for lunch and I'm craving it again already. My only wish is that they could offer the option to pick four different kinds of dumplings to go with the noodles because the only option I saw to try all different types is to get the party platter but that's 10 dumplings, which is a lot for one person (for me at least). Overall really tasty food, would highly recommend checking this place out. There's plenty of seating indoors and outside. Service was very nice and food came out quickly. PS spicy does mean actually spicy so I would ask if you're sensitive to spice like me. Luckily they have plenty of flavorful but spicy free options to choose from. read more

Really good dumplings, the sweet chili sauce is very good and so are the kimchi fries. The location is cute. Limited dine in space, it is a dine in quickly and go location. The staff is awesome! The price is average, 4 dumplings for about $6. The dumplings are small but flavorful. There are other menu options but our favorite is the chicken dumpling. Go give it a try read more

Although the interior of the restaurant was small, it still had a great vibe. The staff was extremely friendly and patient with us as we were figuring out what we wanted to order. The food had to be transported home about 15 blocks, and it was still warm when we got there. The fried chicken dumplings were still crispy and were very flavorful. The chicken dumplings with soup noodles were also extremely flavorful. The meat concoction within the dumplings however was a little sweet, which might be a deterrent for some people. A little shop in St. Marks Place selling Thai homemade dumplings with a variety of vegan and non vegan options! We tried the vegan chive dumplings, mushroom taro dumplings & kale noodles combo w/ vegetable soup, and the sweet basil pumpkin. The sweet basil pumpkin dumpling was interesting and tasted good. The chive dumpling and kale noodles were okay and the mushroom taro dumplings were pretty good. The vegetable soup though was 10/10, i loved it. They even gave us fortune cookies . The owner was super nice and overall, I enjoyed my experience here. read more

I came here alone and ordered Shrimp dumplings and Octopus dumplings. I tried them with all the sauces, all of which went really well with the dumplings, but I would recommend Dumpling N' Dip Chili Oil for both shrimp and octopus dumplings and Spicy mala for shrimp. Dumplings were thoroughly seasoned and well cooked. The skin was tender and soft and the inside was chewy. I want to come back here to try their classic dumplings as well. We ordered the party combo, pork, and shrimp. As a Chinese, I must say it is not the traditional style, but I like it. The essential part is the deep fried garlic, very delicious and highlighting the fragrant. Some drawbacks: Too much oil!! I drank a lot of cold water when eating them. So I recommend to reduce the oil but keep the fried garlic. I recommend you provide rippling sauce of vinegar and sliced ginger, which could balance the taste of dumplings. Overall, I like the meal and certainly worth trying read more

Surprised that this place wasn't busy on a Saturday. The price is 5-6 dollars for 4 pcs of dumplings (which I think is a bit on the expensive side). Wish there was more seating as it felt a bit cramped. Staff were awesome and helpful. Food was cooked perfectly and was delicious. I ordered the green curry dumplings and they were at the perfect spiciness. Kimchi was also really good If you're in the city I would totally recommend this for an awesome quick lunch or snack read more

Dumplings!!!! I love dumplings and it's like I'm in heaven since Dumpling N' Dips has varieties of dumplings. You can tell that people behind this place really put their best to open this restaurant, from the menu to the designs. They have everything for everyone. Gluten-Free? They got it. You are vegan? No problem they got it. Keto diet? Sure they also got it. Wow!!! How cool is that! I got to try their Octopus dumpling, Green curry dumplings and seaweed dumpling. My fav is the octopus with spicy chili lime sauce. Prefect match. I prefer green curry dumplings with sweet soy sauce and seaweed one with my go to Mala sauce. It's so fun to eat here since you can try to match different dumplings with different dipping sauces. They really did a great job on the menu and the decor is super cool. It's like you step into Stranger things world. Going back again for sure!!! read more

It was AMAZING!!!!! The owner is SO nice, and the dumplings are some of the best I have had (and trust me, I have a lot! ) She makes everything in house, and it is very reasonably priced. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT, out of all the dumplings places in the area choose this one!! read more

Customer service here was amazing. We happened to be the first customers and the man working there was quick to help since he was also still setting up. We ordered a few different types of dumplings. They top them with this yummy crunchy garlic oil l. The dumplings were soft, but a little chewier at the top. My favorite was the taro. Lots of sauces/dips available too. The perfect place for a late night dumpling snack! A great little spot to refuel before you continue bar hopping on St. Mark's. Dumpling N' Dips is at a perfect spot in East Village, right in a busy and lively part of the neighborhood. A lot of little food stalls are all right in this area, along with a few bars. We got these to go and sat in their little outside area. We all ordered the Thai Green Curry Dumplings & Kale Noodles and loved them. It came with soup too (which was delicious), in addition to the yummy dumpling sauce and chili oil. The kale noodles also had a pretty good interesting sweet and savory sauce. Worth checking out if you're a dumpling fan! read more

Wow what a neat concept. These are Thai-style dumplings which you can't really find anywhere and it really fuses together well. I had the steamed kale noodles with chicken green curry dumplings and it was fabulous. It's a business run by a local Thai family so you should definitely support. Next time I will have the party platter which gives you a taste of every dumpling. read more

This place is a bit tucked away from the street, but I was craving some dumplings so I thought this place would be worth a try. The Pork Basil Dumplings was so delicious and a big size. The octopus was so delicious, and their sauces are amazing. I specifically recommend the chili oil for the pork basil and the lime sauce for the octopus. The mala is actually spicy so watch out! Beer, the man in the front was so accommodating and answered all my questions regarding what to get and what sauce to pair it with. If you're not in Flushing, this is one of the best places to get dumplings. The inside is also really adorable and so colorful. I would definitely come back to support this business. read more

In the platter we ordered the pork basil and the chicken dumplings. The food is delicious. The pork basil had a spicy kick too it but it was enjoyable. The dipping sauces were delicious as well and complimented the flavors of the dumplings. The kimchi fries were nice and crunchy and absolutely delicious. I loved my experience at dumpling in dips. The employees were so sweet and welcoming. Their noodles were so tasty and I Especially want to highlight the amazing pleasure that I had tasting that chili oil. I had the fried shrimp dumplings and pork basil dumpling as well, I was impressed by both! I will be coming here every time I'm in the area. read more

A new little dumpling place that outshines the competition. When the word gets out there will be a line down the street. Each flavor is better than the next, and WHOA, that chili sauce is beast. They even sell a jar for about 1/3 what a famous Japanese chef sells the same for In addition to dumplings, the dinner with soup and kale noodles serves me for two meals. I save the noodles to eat with fish next day. Cheap, tasty, friendly, fast, fresh. What's not to like??? read more

This place is amazing. Bravo! Well done! The folks at Dumpling N'Dips on StMarks "get it". Every dumpling is delicious. How do I know? I bought the taster box to go. 18 dumplings for $18. Best thing is you can mix , add more ( ala carte) order a side of noodles with more dumplings ( just got the noodles) . They gave me extra hot chili oil which was xtra awesome. Loved - The price Didn't really like - Anything else... the dumplings had unique flavor (we got The Giant so got to try a variety) but they were all a little dry and just not as flavorful as more traditional dim sum, and the sauces didn't add enough. The menu is labeled too, so you know which items are vegetarian or gluten free. At one point our helpful server noticed we hadn't really touched that awkwardly plated noodle dish and offered to replace it with another. We didn't take him up on that as I'd find that wasteful but I thought that was so attentive and earned them a generous tip. The space is nice looking, and the food came out very quickly. It is EXTREMELY popular like you need to book a reservation when they open (a month in advance). I tried booking at midnight and the spots filled up so fast. We had to wait in line in the morning which still took up to 3 hours for a Saturday morning. When we got seated, it was outdoors under a fan which was nice with the heat. Service was good! We ordered the Homemade Granola & Yogurt, Korean Fried Chicken Wings, and Honey Butter Pancakes. So this spot is super known for their Honey Butter Pancakes. But I was not a fan. The pancake was drenched in syrup and incredibly rich and sweet. We ordered the berry compote to go along with the pancake which was nice to have. The Korean Fried Chicken Wings were not it for me. The taste of the meat was a bit off and the sauce was more sweet than savory. I tried my friend's Homemade Granola & Yogurt and the yogurt was very watery. She was unable to finish the meal... Overall, I was disappointed by the food. It did not live up to the hype for me. I also do not think it is worth that long of a wait. Would I coke back in the future? Possibly to try their other foods.

Very spicy pork dan dan mien also so delicious the best flavoring and sauce topped with scallions. Ordered the tofu drink which was okay. With tapioca and tofu chunks with somewhat of a horchata/soy milk base It was takeout style with seating options in front of there food stand where you could watch them pull the noodles in front of you.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Dumpling and Dip, and I have to say it was an absolute delight. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly and welcoming staff who made me feel right at home. The highlight of my meal was definitely the dumplings, which came in a variety of flavors ranging from traditional to seafood. The portions were small, but that just meant I had room to try a few different kinds. They were all absolutely delicious, with perfectly cooked wrappers and delicious fillings. In addition to the dumplings, I also tried their amazing noodle soup, which was full of flavor and had the perfect balance of broth and noodles. While the noodles themselves were a bit oily, the addition of kale noodles gave the dish a healthy twist. Overall, my experience at Dumpling and Dip was fantastic. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. This is a place of the dumplings. First step in the place you can feel excited and feel fun when you see the menu. There are so many kind of dumplings was created and you ever seen in New York. I want to try all of them and the staff so friendly recommend food very clearly. I love the octopus dumplings and green curry dumplings. The taste is so good and very unique. And I love the spicy lime sauce and sweet ginger sauce is going well with shrimp sticks. Plus this is right spot for taking a nice picture. The place is so chic.
