I stumbled upon this newly opened restaurant and was really excited to try them out. The space is really nice for a quick dumpling and noodle spot. I can see myself coming here to sit down for a meal. The staff is really friendly, which I appreciated. I had called in an order for pickup, and it was my fault for not double checking, but the order was mostly wrong. I ordered a ramen, dumplings, and appetizer, a dessert, and a drink. They ended up giving me 2 ramens, a dessert, and my drink. They charged appropriately, so it was just a miscommunication issue. The ramen is definitely not Japanese style - but the broth was good nonetheless. I'm not the biggest fan of Chinese style ramen noodles, but they are not bad at all. The ingredients in the House ramen were really flavorful - I really liked the dumpling filling. I need to go back and try the dumplings now. I will point out that they do pack the food with care. The ramen noodles and ingredients were separated from the broth, ensuring that nothing got soggy in transit. I really liked the rose bubble tea. Without having to ask for less sugar, it was the perfect sweetness, without feeling like I would get diabetes. I would definitely get this again. As a newly opened restaurant, there's always minor quirks to work out. I'm looking forward to trying the place again!

Yay to Dumpling King!! This is the perfect place to get a quick bite to eat. Casual dining, clean, and open space. Nothing fancy but food comes out fast, very friendly owner, I will be a frequent patron for sure! Although the name is a bit misleading as they offer a limited selection of dumplings flavors in comparison to the Dumpling Palace in Wappingers Falls. However, they do have ramen and other things on the menu! We ordered shrimp dumplings, house ramen, and pork ramen plus 2 bubble teas (Honeydew and rose pebble). Everything was delicious. The ramen noodle was a little too soft, it could use 1 minute less cook to give it more chew. But the soup base was yum and I love all the ingredients in the ramen, nice thick cuts of pork, soft cooked egg, corn, bamboo shoots, bakchoy, oh my! Bubble teas were way too sweet for my taste, I need to ask for less sugar next time. But the bubble is nicely cooked, soft but chewy. The dessert menu looks promising, but we were way too full to try, so I will need to come back next time!!!

    Chicken dumplings

This place has very good dumplings but charging an extra TWO DOLLARS!!! To pan sear the dumplings is such a scam. Especially when they look like this???

Ordered from DoorDash and I have to say the Chicken Ramen was really good. Also a decent size I still have some left over

We had take out. Great dumplings! Friendly staff. Hot and fresh... the dumplings, not the staff.

Cute establishment! Friendly service. We had their pan fried dumplings and they were so good! Would return to try their other food.

Fried chicken ramen. Broth not very hot. Underdeveloped broth flavor. Ramen was good consistency. Very light on the greens and other additions to the ramen. Fried chicken cutlets star of the show. Very light, hot and crispy. Pork ramen. Same as above. Pork was fair at best. Very fatty but tender. And what's with the corn in the ramen. That's for a cup of noodle. I was so happy to see Dimsum on the menu until I saw the prices! Way more expensive than what you get in the city! So I opted for the seafood ramen lunch special for $17 which came with a choice of 2 sides. Service was quick. The place was clean with a lot of tables. I read some of the reviews before coming here and they were right, the broth was not hot enough and was a little bland. So I was very disappointed. I decided to try their sesame balls despite the price - $8.49 for 2 pieces since I was already here hoping that would make it better. Unfortunately it also missed the mark. I saw other people order noodle dish and fried rice and left with clean plates - maybe those taste better. I really hoped this place would be good.

My daughter and I shared the Margherita pizza and the Garganelli Pasta with Short Rib Ragù, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The pizza had a perfectly crisp crust with fresh, flavorful ingredients, and the short rib ragù was rich, tender, and incredibly comforting. Since it's a brewery, I couldn't leave without trying one of their beer flights. Our server recommended a selection, and every single beer was excellent. It was a fun way to sample their craft brews, and the recommendations were spot on. The service was friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the location makes it an ideal stop before or after a show at the Bardavon. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Poughkeepsie! Highly recommend.

This note is for the kitchen staff: Read the specifications on the order. When someone says they have a wheat or gluten allergy, you don't include said products. This includes your soy peanut dressing (soy sauce has wheat) which I had called the restaurant about a few minutes before I placed my order to confirm if it had any wheat or gluten products. You may end up serving it up to someone with a severe allergy and cause a lawsuit against your establishment.

My…read moreopinions live and die by the staff, and it's with that in mind that I want to dedicate this review almost entirely to Kasey, who was our incredible server. From the moment we stepped inside Kpot, Kasey went above and beyond with service; she was so very kind and accommodating. Without prompting, she immediately created a space for me to keep my wheelchair safe and accessible without it being in the way at our table, which is always something I have to worry about myself when I go anywhere. I have dietary restrictions and she was very enthusiastic and willing to swap out the BBQ trays multiple times as needed. I never once felt like it was a bother. It was my loved one's birthday, and when we told Kasey, she completely understood the assignment. She made sure that we were having a wonderful time, was ninja-like in making sure our unused dishes were out of the way, she made wonderful, positive conversation that helped make our entire table feel welcomed + relaxed like we were old friends, and she had the most excellent timing with bringing out a surprise birthday treat at the end of our visit! I have never felt like a staff member at any place of business, no matter how wonderful they were otherwise, was as sincerely invested in making our experience unforgettable as Kasey was. at Kpot. Kpot is incredibly fortunate to have found such a warm, bright human being to work there. We went on a Saturday, and when any of us ever return in the future, we will absolutely be sure to come on Saturday again in hopes of having Kasey as our host again! The food itself was very good, and the value cannot be understated. It's a great bang-for-your-buck! Once you pay for the hotpot/bbq, you also have access to a variety of food by the sauce bar. (I specifically got some chicken wings and French fries and dipped them in the delicious chili sauce!) Every one at my table had very positive reviews of their food (which were, of course, only bolstered by their raving about Kasey! Seriously, I cannot overstate how this review is glowing because of her, haha! We all agreed that we will be coming back again, in a large part due to the service; KPot has found itself four loyal customers because of her. ) The food being brought to the table was also very timely. There were no delays and everything came right out, fresh from the kitchen. Absolutely nothing tasted bad or off. The atmosphere inside of the restaurant is pretty conducive to feeling social and open, yet perfectly private for your party. It feels like a really good spot to catch up with friends you haven't seen in a while, or to celebrate special occasions with a small group. I do also wanna mention how convenient it was to get food. They give you an iPad with names and pictures of all the food items. It is extremely easy and intuitive to use, and it's probably the best means of ordering food I've had at a buffet-style place. Very hygienic and timely! I truly cannot overstate how the excellent service made our experience as amazing as it was. The food is great and Kpot itself is, of course, quite nice, but the service elevated it into the position of being my FIRST choice when it comes to dining out with multiple people again. I wholeheartedly recommend dining here, if not for the insane value you get in terms of food, then absolutely for the excellent service -- be sure to come on a Saturday so that you're more likely to have such a wonderful, warm and professional person providing your service! Endless thanks, again, to Kasey. You made this experience what it was, and as someone who does not get to see my loved ones for occasions like this often, it means the world to me that we had such incredible service from someone that made everything feel special. I am so glad that we chose here as our birthday dinner spot.

The selection was impressive, with thinly sliced beef, pork, seafood, vegetables, noodles, and a variety of sides to customize each bite. The meats were fresh and tender, cooking quickly on the grill. The hot pot broth was rich and comforting, especially when loaded with vegetables, noodles, and your favorite proteins that you can choose from! One of the highlights was being able to switch between grilling and hot pot throughout the meal. The endless options kept things exciting, and every combination tasted different. The seafood was fresh, the vegetables crisp, and the noodles soaked up all the delicious broth flavors. (You add $5 if you want both) For drinks, I got Piña Colada and tried their bubble tea as well, Matt got Coconut mojito. (The server heard Coke and Mojito she immediately change it and apologized) The thing I don't like and could possibly improve is their appetizer, sauce and salad area. Sauce were good but apps only has few selection, like chicken nuggets, fries, etc. and looks like it has been sitting there. Nuggets were rubbery. Ambiance was okay, not that much people when we came in around 5. Place seems nice as well. But other than that it was a delicious feast from start to finish, with plenty of variety and something for everyone. Come hungry because you'll definitely leave full and happy! :)

Worth it? Mostly, yes! Food: 4/5 We tried a little bit of everything, the Seared chicken breast - Hands down my favorite dish of the night. Perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, and flavorful. Followed by the Bacon, egg, and homemade biscuit - A close second! The biscuit was dense and satisfying, and it had a really unique pesto-like sauce on top that made it memorable. Some other shout outs: 1) Orecchiette veggie pasta - Orecchiette is hard to find on menus, so I was delighted to see it here. It was a nice light option among our heavier dishes. 2) Jerk ribs - OK, so this is where my expectations and reality didn't fully align. They were well-cooked, but I'm a saucy girl, and these weren't as slathered or juicy as I'd hoped. That said, the rest of my table really enjoyed them. Also, that hibiscus lemonade? Chef's kiss. Refreshing and flavorful, and exactly the kind of detail that makes a place stand out to me. Service: 4/5 Now, here's where I was really surprised: one person was running the whole show. The head chef was managing the kitchen and the front of house--no servers, no extra help. Just him. For the amount of work that entails, he crushed it. Was it a bit slower than a staffed restaurant? Of course. But honestly, it gave the whole experience a humble, homegrown vibe that I appreciated. Also, it meant a lot to support a Black-owned restaurant and actually connect with the person behind the food. Final Thoughts: While we came for dinner, I could tell from the menu (and the vibe) that this place is really known for brunch. I'm genuinely curious to come back during brunch hours to see how the energy--and menu--might shift. Either way, it's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and looking for a spot with heart, flavor, and soul.
