I will preface this by saying I'm no coffee/tea/cafe connoisseur, but I loved the blue matcha latte here. Like love love love, would come back just to have this drink. I admit I am partial to a brightly colored food item, but the flavor was sweet and yummy in a way that was unique. I'm still not sure what blue matcha actually is lol but I will be back to have this treat. This is the kind of drink I'd order for myself to give myself a pickmeup/joy boost. They also have other fun drinks and food on the menu I'd love to check out. We love neighborhood cafes!
HUGE SANDWICH! I'm a little picky on the breakfast sausage but this is really good and worth the money! I also really enjoyed the latte, not too sweet but sweet enough for me! (And I love sugar) Went in wanting to get To-go and the service was amazing and quick! Didn't have to wait too long at all. I wish I could stay, the place looked like a really great spot to study and get work done or even hang out with a friend!
Small family own place. It's a little warm, but it's tolerable. Has good coffee and good food. Service was great, definitely recommend
Such a cute breakfast place with delicious and unique crepes! This is a family-owned business with lovely servers that were so sweet and helpful. They went out of their way to help us with cleaning and setting up the baby chair. I had the mazapan which had a delicious cream cheese filling and strawberries on top. The watermelon lemonade and dulce de leche latte were also super tasty. Can't wait to try more from here.
Went here with colleagues for lunch on a Friday since it was close to Northeastern's campus. Easy street parking. It is a lovely, intimate space. There was enough space for the seven of us to sit comfortably. The server was kind. The food was delicious and they were kind enough to provide us some complimentary desserts! Our only concern was the amount of time it took to receive our food since we were on a lunch break. However, the desserts definitely made up for it!
I grew up in Albany and a brunch spot was definitely missing in the community! Dulce de leche is a cozy spot, food is a 8/10 the French toast 10/10, and their lattes are extremely delicious!!!!
My first time here as it was recommended by my SIL. The food was pretty good but for the price of the chilaquiles, i didn't think that it was fully worth it. There was not as much carnitas on the plate and my portion was smaller compared to the other 2 chilaquiles plates at the table. The cafe de olla on the otherhand was delicious and would order that again if I decide for a second try.
I only got an horchata latte so I can't speak to the rest of the menu but the coffee is excellent and I hope to try this spot again soon
Cool little coffeeshop with bagels and other breakfast items. Dulce De Leche is a Latino owned small business with an interior that can be described as minimalist. It's not like a hip coffee shop people like to come to hang out. Actually seems like more of a cafe to come and get out after not long. The prices are pretty okay for an independent shop. Breakfast and lunch are when it's open, and it gets most of its business from Latinos. It has a bit of a Mexican flair in the menu items, but there's also typical coffee shop stuff. The coffee menu is pretty basic and small, so it's not like these places with these fancy drinks and that. Best thing here is the Peppermint Latte. It's about $4 for a medium. They can make this with non dairy milks such as oat. Bagels are among the good items. It's about $3 for one with a spread such as jelly. Also has sandwiches at lunch that look good. The next time here I need to get one. Good local business. It's popular with the Latino neighborhood around here. The prices are pretty good for the portions and quality.
As we continued on our journey across Chicagoland to try all the cafes, my husband found this spot in Albany Park. Street parking was very easy to find. We only went for coffee, but I saw right away that they have a very yummy looking full menu with crepes! I will have to go back to try those. I was initially curious to try their beautiful blue matcha and green matcha drinks. When I checked into the Yelp app, I was pleasantly surprised with a 20% off espresso/coffee drink offer. After talking with the waiter, he explained that a lot of the signature drinks made with flavored syrups, but the horchata latte and dulce de leche latte are made with their homemade horchata and dulce de leche - sold! My husband ordered the horchata latte, and I got the dulce de leche. Despite the name, it is not overly sweet, but it is delicious! I look forward to going back to try those matcha lattes and the food.
Nice service, perfectly seasoned. Andy was an excellent server. Food came out and everything was perfect they opened right before COVID. And are still standing. The menus small but looks great . Thanks Andy for the great experience and the wonderful food.
Bagel lox on jalapeño cheddar bagel- this was goood! I didn't feel tired after this which I usually do after eating breakfast. Breakfast sandwich on jalapeño cheese bagel Nutella crepe - amazing this was really good. I think next time I'll ask for all strawberries only because I personally like strawberries more Horchata latte (iced)- really good! My husband loved this! Dulce de leche latte hot- I really liked this. This was sweet but not too sweet and perfect for a cold day We can't wait to come back again!

I've been coming here regularly for over 2 years now. Omar and the staff truly make this the most caring and welcoming spot in Albany Park. I've since moved from the neighborhood but keep coming back cus it's just that good! The food is made with love, offering everything from one of the best lox bagel sandwiches I've ever had (comparable only to NYBB imo) to crepes made from scratch, to a chicken sandwich that has got Popeye's *running*. Not to mention the roasted veggie bowl that saved me many a my vegan days... Paintings and photographs by local artists always hanging on the walls, live plants on every table and a beautiful mural make it a genuinely heartwarming vibe every time. Gotta make the commute from the Kimball Brown line? Come on in! Rainy day, lo-fi study/work vibes? Look. No. Further. Laundry day? Come onnnn. And if you're looking to host an event here, Omar is here for the community. He will go out of his way to make you feel at home. He let a c couple friends and I shoot a scene from a short film here last year in the front of the cafe after-hours, lights and camera included, and he even gave us some signature chocolate abuelitas to boot. 2nd visit was a joy. It's quiet, yet energetic. Fast yet beautifully plated. I tried a new item "My Favorite" an orange chicken flavored grilled chicken sandwich. Service was quaint and friendly. The environment is always pleasant and calm. read more

I live in Albany Park and when they opened this cute cafe I could not wait to try it! When in person dining was finally back in Chicago I took my sister and mom to give them a try. AMAZING! The service, the food, the atmosphere. We ordered up front and our food was brought to us in a timely manner. We ordered the mazapán crepe, the breakfast burrito, churro cheese cake, torta ahogada, Nutella strawberry crepe, and chilaquiles. Everything was fresh and tasted amazing. My sister tried the horchata latte and my mom and I tried the seasonal water, which was cucumber lemonade. In times where we should support our small businesses, this one is defined worth it! read more

I had the worst experience here, me and my friend ordered a chicken breakfast skillet we get our food when I took the first bite I knew they gave me the wrong order... I don't eat pork so the taste of it immediately let me know that wasn't chicken they had served me a carnitas skillet when I told the waitress and she went back to the manager, the manager came back out and said I was mistaken and it was chicken.... Couldn't have been when me and my friend got the same dish and hers looked and tasted just like chicken mine was completely different texture and RED she argued that was just the way it was seasoned. We had a whole argument back and forth about it. I still paid for the food because its not about paying for the food it's about the quality or respect and service provided. read more

I've walked by this cafe so many times, but never really went in and sat down there until today. I've ordered their lavender latte to go a few days ago and it was really good! I tried their seasonal rose latte iced and with oat milk today and I really liked it. The rose flavor wasn't too overpowering & added a nice hint of sweetness! The interior of the cafe is also really cute and it was a great place to sit down & have some alone time. Anyway, if you're looking for a nice cafe with good coffee in the Albany Park area, definitely check this place out! read more

This place is a cute little café in a cute little neighborhood. I got a vanilla latte and a breakfast platter. Everything was delicious but I will say that the interior could use a little bit more pizzazz. That may be a bit superficial to say though. There were a lot of families there having breakfast and lunch. I don't think that I would use this as a place to get work done per se because it is very busy and it seems as though a lot of people come not only for coffee and tea but to eat as well. Overall though I definitely would come back as everything that I had was delicious. read more

In a city that has ample Mexican or Mexican-inspired culinary options, Dulce De Leche Cafe's fantastic flavors, diverse menu, and welcoming ambiance help it stand out among the crowd. The chilaquiles I ordered was among the best I've had - an incredible blend of fresh flavors. Although I was feeling full, I took a risk and ordered the Sabroso crepe afterward - wow, no regrets!! The berry infused cream cheese was delicious. Service was excellent and the place feels homely. Highly recommended, will be back for brunch or lunch very soon! read more

Went in with my 5 kids (2x teens and 3x littles) + the hubbs. Such a wonderful family owned restaurant. The owners are also those serving. Let me tell you, THEY TAKE PRIDE IN DISCUSSING THE FOOD. I love to see their heart for the many different varieties they speak about. Not to mention they have a demeanor that embodies the feels of "home" alongside genuine smiles and joy. So about the food! SO GOOD! These are the items my family and I enjoyed and ordered. We had an all out happy mouth tasting party here alongside some fun convos. (Dulce de Leche will supply you the food - the good convos are up to you ) - Chilaquiles Platter: My tribe has traveleddddd and these CHILAQUILES are as close to having them in the great nation of Mexico. Soooo good! (FYI: They are NOT spicy. You can ask for added spice ) - Bagel Lox: The dill cream cheese is super fresh and should be sold on its own it's so good! The salmon is prepared with a Japanese method that melts in your mouth. The salmon is extremely fresh and not mushy at all. MUST HAVE! - Breakfast Sandwich: So big. Which we cannot complain about. LOL. - Breakfast Burger: 3x of my kids had this and they thoroughly enjoyed the egg over a burger and it was so good! - Horchata Latte: UM WHAT!?! Whoever thought about this was a genius! I'm not Mexican but love a good horchata. Ummmmm they added coffee y'all! Who does that? Fresh and hit the spot. I could have had this for a dessert on its own. - Nutella Latte: on my part. But one of my kids, who is not into super sweet things ordered it. He thought it was okey. But if you are a chocolate or Nutella lover - you are going to really enjoy this. - Dulce de Leche Latte: Creamy and perfect. They served a huge cup of this and I had a hard time finishing it off as I literally tasted everyone's food plus ate my own. - Cucumber Lemonade: Okey y'all! This needs to be sold IN STORES! The most refreshing summer drink I've had to date this year. My kids loved it. I loved it. And I'm sure you will too. This is my entire review. Sorry it was forever long. Staff is so kind and welcoming. The food speaks for itself, it is AMAZING. Our crepes (Dulce de Leche and Nutella with bananas) were so good, and the Cafe de Olla was phenomenal. It also doesn't hurt that the place is so cute inside and out. Love it! read more

The latte was good and so what the breakfast skillet, however the crepes were mediocre & the "burrito" was literally just a cold turkey wrap with egg... it's a decent place but definitely not first pick or worth the hour wait. read more

Their coffee was amazing and love the atmosphere definitely will be returning! Was waited on as soon as we walked in, staff was very welcoming and helpful. Tables are cleaned off as soon as people leave to allow for quick turnover of seating! Is a great option whether you want something quick to go or want to stay a while! read more

I liked the iced horchata latte, though I think it could've tasted a bit more horchata-y. Maybe the hot version is better. I had the blueberry muffin and it was tasty but I think the baking was off because in mine the center was still a bit uncooked and all my blueberries fell to the bottom of the cupcake. It's a big cupcake though, so not bad for the price. Overall, it's a beautiful place and I'd be willing to go there again. read more

Got introduced to this place by a neighborhood group I'm in online on Facebook. I am so glad people recommended this place coz they make the best Dulce d'Leche coffee and Mazapan Crepes. They are located close to the Brown Line, and are open early for your morning run. The staff there are nice and very attentive. Gonna go back to try their lox and other items off their menu. I don't write many reviews. I had to write this one. Probably the best take out food I have had since ummmm 2019! Let's start with the beet salad. Beautiful fresh beets, sliced sweet grapefruit with goat cheese and pecans on a bed of arugula. Whaaat?? In Albany Park?? Yes sir! Then I had the lentil soup. Delicious. I might need the recipe. Last I had the bagel lox sandwich with jalapeño cheddar bagel, cured salmon, avocado and dill cream cheese. And a few more ingredients. The combination was amazing. So fresh. My BF had the breakfast sandwich. Which he loved. He said "oh babe, we are going back there" and he doesn't say that very often. Dulce de Leche was clean, friendly, quick, and just delicious. Went to grab a coffee before touring around the city and i am beyond satisfied. the Dulce De Leche latte is exceptional, far better than any city coffee shop i've been to so far. the service was great, everyone really friendly! my friend dropped a piece of trash and the man behind the counter picked it up without question. super quality service, nice workers, cute little environment, and great coffee!! highly recommend. read more
I was passing by few times next to the coffee shop and today I stopped in to grub vanilla latte. It took them a little bit longer then as usual probably around five minutes to make it, however the coffee was delicious and I liked the taste. The associates serving the coffee were very friendly polite and kind. It looked like they have been enjoying working in that place. They were wearing masks as I am very concerned about coronavirus situation and social distancing was provided. Plenty of space inside with limited parking in front of the coffee shop but probably this is to very busy street. Next time while I'm around I will definitely try something ales from this location. Over all very good first experience and I hope they will keep that way. I would recommend to try something you may like it. read more

My boyfriend and I came all the way from Louisville, and had no plans on trying this place but I'm so glad we did. This breakfast cafe was one of the best places we ate at during our entire Chicago trip. The bagel breakfast sandwiches were very good, as well as the iced dulce de leche lattes. Some of the best bagels I've had and one of the best lattes I've ever tried. Wish I had this place back home in Louisville. The service was very good too, the employees are fast, helpful, and extremely friendly. I'll definitely be coming back next time I visit Chicago to try more food and drinks.
