Great breakfast/lunch spot in the area! Had a few friends recommend Dulce de Leche and I was glad I was finally able to try it. My friend and I met there for lunch and he ordered the chicken chilaquiles with over easy eggs and I ordered the torta ahogada with pork carnitas. I was glad the torta had the sauce on the side for me to dip it so the bread wasn't soggy when I ate it. I would dip it in the sauce as I was eating it which was perfect. The sauce itself is not spicy however they give you pickled onion with habanero on the side which definitely adds the fire to the dish if you want it to be spicy. There is a great variety of drinks to choose from there as well... anything from a latte, matcha latte, hot chocolate or cafe de olla. I personally ordered the horchata latte with oat milk and it was great! It helped balance the heat from the torta since I did add the pickled habanero to it. I had the worst experience here, me and my friend ordered a chicken breakfast skillet we get our food when I took the first bite I knew they gave me the wrong order... I don't eat pork so the taste of it immediately let me know that wasn't chicken they had served me a carnitas skillet when I told the waitress and she went back to the manager, the manager came back out and said I was mistaken and it was chicken.... Couldn't have been when me and my friend got the same dish and hers looked and tasted just like chicken mine was completely different texture and RED she argued that was just the way it was seasoned. I tried their seasonal rose latte iced and with oat milk today and I really liked it. The rose flavor wasn't too overpowering & added a nice hint of sweetness! This place is decent, but they are rarely open on time. I've come here 4 separate times hoping to get coffee and they just aren't open. The internet says they open at 7 am. Then I saw they had changed the time to 8:00 am (sign on their doors) and now they took off the sign. So I came at 8 am today and they weren't open. This place is a cute little café in a cute little neighborhood. I got a vanilla latte and a breakfast platter. Everything was delicious but I will say that the interior could use a little bit more pizzazz. That may be a bit superficial to say though. There were a lot of families there having breakfast and lunch. I don't think that I would use this as a place to get work done per se because it is very busy and it seems as though a lot of people come not only for coffee and tea but to eat as well. Ever since I've been working remotely since the onset of the pandemic, I've been checking out a variety of cafes to work from. I absolutely love working from here. The food and drinks are incredible! I haven't had a single thing I didn't like. The cafe is located a block west from the Kimball Brown Line stop, making it easy to get to. While I wish they had bike parking, I put in a request with the city to install a bike rack in front of their entrance. Fingers crossed. Their food and drinks really do look and taste as good as they seem online. The presentation of the sandwiches and drinks is always on point. Not to mention, they bake their bread and make everything from scratch! Also, I appreciate that they play Latin music as it's relatively uncommon for cafes in my experience. Horchata latte! Horchata latte!!! I moved to Albany park from Lakeview and I'm missing my horchata latte fix from cafe tola. When I found out dulce de leche has it, I HAD to try it! I got mine iced (as per usual) and with oat milk and it was great! Ryan got a dulce de leche latte and it was so good! We also got breakfast sandwiches, sausage on jalapeño cheddar and lox bagel on the same. I love that they make their own bagels, although the jalapeño cheddar didn't have much spice to it. The amount of lox and avocado is so much- definitely worth the price! Cant wait to come back for my horchata latte and more breakfast bagels!! read more

Got introduced to this place by a neighborhood group I'm in online on Facebook. I am so glad people recommended this place coz they make the best Dulce d'Leche coffee and Mazapan Crepes. They are located close to the Brown Line, and are open early for your morning run. The staff there are nice and very attentive. Gonna go back to try their lox and other items off their menu. I don't write many reviews. I had to write this one. Probably the best take out food I have had since ummmm 2019! Let's start with the beet salad. Beautiful fresh beets, sliced sweet grapefruit with goat cheese and pecans on a bed of arugula. Whaaat?? In Albany Park?? Yes sir! Then I had the lentil soup. Delicious. I might need the recipe. Last I had the bagel lox sandwich with jalapeño cheddar bagel, cured salmon, avocado and dill cream cheese. And a few more ingredients. The combination was amazing. So fresh. My BF had the breakfast sandwich. Which he loved. He said "oh babe, we are going back there" and he doesn't say that very often. Dulce de Leche was clean, friendly, quick, and just delicious. Great food & drinks. Unfortunately, the front of the store is looking very sloppy with random posters covering all the windows. Last year it looked so clean & cute, even had some outdoor seating. I was passing by few times next to the coffee shop and today I stopped in to grub vanilla latte. It took them a little bit longer then as usual probably around five minutes to make it, however the coffee was delicious and I liked the taste. The associates serving the coffee were very friendly polite and kind. It looked like they have been enjoying working in that place. They were wearing masks as I am very concerned about coronavirus situation and social distancing was provided. Plenty of space inside with limited parking in front of the coffee shop but probably this is to very busy street. Next time while I'm around I will definitely try something ales from this location. Over all very good first experience and I hope they will keep that way. I would recommend to try something you may like it. read more
