After a nice family dinner, we decided on churros to end the night on (my sister has had it before and recommends). Waited in line to place our order and we ordered about every combination there is + ice cream! Filled with excitement, we see other patrons going up to the counter to pick up their orders. 40 minutes goes by and even folks behind us got their order. We inquire, and Jared, the business owner says they are working on it. 5 min later, we get our ice cream order. Another 5 min, no churros insight for us. We inquire with Jared AGAIN, and he says they thought our ticket was filled and never made our order. POOR MANAGEMENT & NOT APOLOGETIC at all. We asked for a refund and Jared didn't seem to know how to use his point of sale (POS) iPad system and had to ask an employee that got frustrated at him. No offer of compensation! I was uniquely surprised when Annie (husband and wife owners) came outside to clean our table and then told us their story and the 2 years that went into creating Dulce Churro Cafe. Wow, I haven't seen anything like this place. I came on a Saturday night after dinner, and the place was really busy. It looked like there was only one cashier and a manager who were both working hard making orders. The facility is really clean. I ordered El Grande with chocolate glaze and sprinkles. It was delicious. The churro itself was fresh, crispy outside and doughy in the middle, heavy dusting of cinnamon, as it should be. You can stuff them, dip them, eat them with ice cream, whatever you want, but the churro itself is the star. It was quite slow getting our orders, but they were really busy. The guys working were busting their butts and seemed to take pride in their work. I think the guy who glazed my churro may have been the owner. I would return. This is a nice treat. Soooooo good! I had the Filled Churro with Bavarian Creme (around $4). The Churros are made fresh to order which makes such a big difference. There is a lot of different options to try and I am going to try them all! LOL This is a fun place for anyone to grab a snack or dessert. They also had unique drinks. It was overcooked. They had a little difficulty with it coming out of the machine so maybe he was so fixated on fixing it and must of forgot about our first churro. My husband got the filled onewith nutella and very disappointed IT WAS ONLY FILLED 1/2 way. No knives to cut and because it's a basket, it got really messy because there's only paper to support it. This was a nice place to come for a quick snack! The churros were yummy. I recommend getting the Spanish hot chocolate to dip the churro in... yum! My only issues were the place was super messy... napkin pieces and crumbs all over the floor and the tables were all dirty. And the workers must of had a bunch of friends visiting because they all just stood around and socialized annoyingly loudly with them the whole time. I wouldn't of minded that so much if it wasn't so messy in there. read more

Their churros are worthy of 5/5, especially the Nutella filled! They make them as you order, always toasty.

I think maybe my expectations were too high or it was just new opening kinks (I went about a month ago). It just seemed like they didn't have enough people working. Only one person was actually making the churros and the younger kids working moved so slow. The churros were okay and the vanilla soft serve ice cream was nasty.. it had such a strange taste. The furniture is bright and colorful, but super uncomfortable which makes me not want to stick around too long. Super disappointed with this place. read more

First time going in here and it was delicious! I have 5o bring my daughter next time. They have a fairly simple menu and the employee helped explain all the toppings, glazed, or fillings you can get which makes for s super customizable dessert! The churros themselves were delicious! The loop with Bavarian dip 10/10 my mom got the El Grande with mango dip she was in heaven these are fresh made to order and they were quick too. You can watch them make them. I just hate when I leave less than 5 stars for a family owned spot but I can't justify the 5. We went in the evening to give this spot a try. There were tons of people inside which should mean something good, even great! Really disappointed that the Owner took our order and didn't even mention the "hot chocolate" that you get in Spain was on the "drink" side of the menu. I mean, we've been to Spain and ate churros con chocolaté all over that place and everyone knows that's the ONLY way to go. We each ordered different types of churros with that thick, yuck chocolate they have in plastic containers sitting on the counter (seems kinda gross), and the Owner even mentions it's hard. And once my husband found the hot chocolate we went back up and ordered that to dunk in. Things got better but maybe slim the menu down and show us Arizonans how they really do churros. Toppings- (sprinkles, Oreos,almonds and marshmallows). Soft serve flavors( extra $2.00) vanilla & chocolate. I ordered the loop glazed with white chocolate, sprinkles on top served with a vanilla soft serve. My husband ordered the churro filled with Nutella in chocolate soft serve. My churro was a bit over cooked so it didn't taste as great. I'm giving this place a 3.8 because of my over cooked churro and I wish the churro was a little bit bigger for the price. I do like that the churros are handmade and you can see them making it. This place also doesn't offer a lot of seating so it was super crowded and you felt rush to eat your dessert so others could sit down next to eat there's. However I know this place just opened so they probably have some stuff they will try to work on to make it better. If I'm ever in the area, I'll come give it another try. read more

Dulce is brand new to Gilbert! Our staff has been talking about going since it opened so we finally gave it a try. The churros were pretty good- I got the Spaniard loop style ones. They make the dough there and fry them when you order, so that's pretty cool. The only thing is, if it's busier inside, prepare to wait. Not too impressed. Hubby had a large-size churro, no fillings, glazes or toppings. It was just okay, as we didn't realize you needed to order them with sugar. It was very plain with nothing on it. I ordered the Spaniard, which is four smaller size loops, and they were not okay. They were hard and dry, and since they didn't appear to be overcooked, I'm guessing they were old?? They were crumbly outside and the inside was hard. I also ordered the premium Spanish-style chocolate dip, which is supposed to be a thick cup of chocolate and thicker than the usual chocolate dip. However, it was thin and runny, like a cup of cocoa, and not at all what I was expecting. It was also heated to blazes in the microwave, so getting the lid off was a tricky task. read more

Churros were tasty, crispy and fresh! We went on a Sat (2nd day it open) at 8:30pm so there was a line and the wait was long. They had to cook and wait for the churros to cool off before they added what you want on it. So it took awhile for our order but we planned to and support the local business on their grand opening weekend. We ordered the cappuccino coffee, it was Cartel! One of the best coffee!
