So this meat is supposed to be short rib?? WTH
Evelyne R.

Today is horrible. The greens were nasty. Also, my friend picked the wrong size but he asked for short ribs and I don't know what kind of meat this is supposed to be. That is not short ribs. They didn't even say it's a different type of meat was not expecting that just horrible and the service wasn't all good.

Huge portion of great food!

This was my first time here and it was great! And I came here from Russia to try this amazingly soul food, thanks to my wifey - she always know how to hit the spot Keep it going guys!! I am honestly so t understand why this place don't have 5 STARS here on YELP. Because food is smacking!

Dinner meal was amazing the fried chicken I loved Krispy and the mash potatoes are 10/10 especially the collard greens wow that's all I could say about the food. For dessert I had the peach cobbler just missing a vanilla ice cream on top. Will I come again yes. Best soul food I had in a long time.

My receipt for this pathetic short-rib dinner- no drink included. DO NOT BUY -RIP OFF

THEY ARE NOT THE SAME A meal at Dulan's has never been on the cheap but one thing that has always brought me back is good food and hearty servings. THAT IS NO LONGER THE CASE. My recent short-rib dinner purchase for $31.70, no drink included, was anything but pleasant. They used to give you two proper serving of the shot-rib; now it's one skimpy serving sliced down the center flaked with rice and gravy. As one of my sides I ordered black-eyed peas. It came in a separate container consisting of 90% rice with 10% peas on top of it. I DID NOT ORDER RICE. They used the rice as a FILER. for $31.70, I feel like I've been robbed! Adding insult to injury, the place is very disorganized, unprofessional, and the employee's are rude AF. I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN. THEY RIPPED ME OFF ; AND, THE FOOD PORTIONS ARE NOT WAHT THEY USE TO BE.

Dry breast and dressing with smidgen of dressing...It was literally were you see it in this photo...Smh

I've never ordered from this location until Thursday October 17th... Ubereats order of baked chicken (dark meat), cabbage, mac & cheese, dressing w/gravy and cornbread muffins... I got white meat instead (it was dry) and a smidgen (and I do mean a smidgen) of gravy so the dressing was dry...Very disappointing... Not as flavorful as Dulan's on Crenshaw...3/5 stars...I won't patronize this location again...

Went to SoFi stadium and Dulan's was nearby. Note Sunday there is a different menu. Lined up to order it moved quickly went into another line to pickup here's a pic of our family feast of oxtails (5 pieces) on bed of rice...i will return and try chicken next time. Food was solid! Cane with sweet tea, small dessert cup, two sides and two muffins.

My friend recommended me this spot. He is from Inglewood so I trusted his word. Overall, it was okay. Fried chicken tasted good, but it was extremely tough and dry. I got a thigh piece. Unbearably dry. However, the drum stick was good. Tender enough. Flavor was great. Good seasoning. Sides were good. Fluffy and soft corn bread. Corn bread dressing was good. Not sure if I would go back. I have had better.

Lunch Fried Chicken, Mac n Cheese, Greens and Strawberry Lemonade.

You can always count on Dulan's! Everything was well seasoned, Fried Chicken was crispy and moist. Mac n Cheese was so good and the corn bread was Fire. Check this place out for some home cooked Soul Food.

Collards were delicious

Ask the Community - Dulan's

Do they still sell the turkey wings?

From what I understand when I visited them on that day they were only out of Lemon Cake..lol.

Which Dulan's is the best to go to the one on Crenshaw or the one on Manchester or Century and western?

Shorter lines at Century location.

What time close?

6pm on sundays

There's often times that I'll sit with Johnny. He likes to tell my friends and I to call him "king" as a joke but after observing him for multiple taco Tuesday's I notice he's always standing at the bar "waiting for drinks" but is really on his phone ignoring our table and watching our drinks get watered down and asks other people to bring us our drinks when he's standing right there and still rolls his eyes when we tip anything less then 20% but doesn't put in work... I often times love sitting at the bar. You never know what side of Junior you're gonna get. Either the joking funny one or the grouchy stressed out one hehe he makes the best drinks and he's pretty fast at making them. I started coming in on Fridays and Andrea is just the sweetest most attentive person. She often does a lot of the heavy work herself. She always brings me my chips and salsa, my drinks and food and always makes pleasant small talk about my nails and I always compliment hers because they're always on point. She tells me she gets them done with her daughter and if you know Silvia the hostess her nails are always on point too they definitely have taste. Silvia is another person who I love seeing when I come in. She's always moving she never stops, she greets people with a smile, takes my husband and i to our table and tells us who our server for the night will be, shes kind of like her mom she never stops, always helps out the servers with taking drinks, chips and salsa, food, cleans tables and restrooms and often helps out and takes our order when our server Geraldo is busy. She tells us she's just a host but she needs to be promoted already because She's always handling difficult customers and often tells the male servers to stop fighting in front of customers and tells the other hostess to stop rolling her eyes at people we've noticed her do this multiple times. She definitely knows customer service and it shows in the way she presents herself and handles different types of situations. She's so fun to talk to always cracking jokes and recommends good food and fun drinks and just told us that we can take our drinks Togo!! Hello!? My husband and I love when she's here because we know she's gonna crack a joke lol. The other hostess yamilette is nice, always runs to clean a table but lacks customer service makes us want someone else to attend us but it's ok maybe she's still learning. Bryan is a cool guy, makes pleasant conversation and always makes sure to get our order just right. Can't go wrong with him either The restaurant is cute the music is always on point it's always nice and clean amazing ambiance when you want a nice night out to distract yourself!

When the Long Beach location opened, it was even better, right around my way (back then). Myself and my family looked forward to them for the holidays after I'd long moved away. I'd make the drive just for the gumbo and lemon cake for the holidays. This year though, I placed my Thanksgiving order per usual. My sister made the comment (she lives in Long Beach still) that they'd not been as good anymore, I ignored. I figured she's spoiled and getting bougee since Long Beach has tons of really good places. Unfortunately ... she was correct. Maybe my pick up experience didn't all the way help but honestly I was still happy to have my order (sad. We need soul food places in Santa Clarita). I ordered my usual gumbo and lemon cake. This year I was fancy and added a pineapple upside down and a dozen cornbread muffins. Nothing crazy. There was only 7 of us to feed. I drove from Castaic all the way the the LA location. I scheduled my pick up for 11a the day before Thanksgiving. This would give me enough time to get down there and back home before traffic got insane. When I arrive, the front dining area had become overcrowded with people standing around waiting for help. A gentleman came out and he cleared us out helping everyone. I was sent to the back of the restaurant where there were tables with all the ready Thanksgiving orders sitting on tables. It was a bit busy, there were 2 ladies helping people. I could see a couple customers were having issue with their orders not being complete so they were waiting. Although my pick up was at 11a, I arrived at 1130a. I could see the times of the orders already out. And there were 11a orders spread out amongst all The earlier times. Didn't think my order would have me sitting outside 45 minutes. My order wasn't ready. I sat patient as long as I could. Traffic and the remaining things I had to do before heading back home heavy on me. By the time noon came around and I kept seeing orders come out, but they weren't mine. And people came and went. I finally spoke up. The two ladies didn't make it a priority to keep the kitchen abreast my order being late and me still sitting waiting. Instead they were laughing, talking. There was a period of time no one was picking up. So it was just us 3 back there. Me alone in a corner chair and them kee kee'ing. A wave of customers came, and I finally had to say something. I let them know, again, my order was for 11am and it's now past noon and I'm still waiting. I was annoyed, I even advised I cannot wait much longer. I let them know I was coming from really and questioned my wait. There was an older lady and a young lady. Soon as I mentioned Yelp, the older lady put the younger one into action and she went to the kitchen. She didn't come back out until my order was in hand. They both apologized. Then the older woman says to me, "don't yelp us bad. If you do, I'll remember you and next year I won't serve you" It took me a back! Playing or not (I believe not), my experience wasn't jolly for that kind of remark. They could have at minimum offered me a glass of water while waiting 45 minutes. Nothing. Ignored and I get that? Smile and cracked a smile and went on. The food.... I don't think it would be 100% fair to critique the food with such an iffy in person experience. I feel like that may have altered how I felt about the food this year. I will say, the gumbo is not filled with meat. It's a lot of soup and the soup is a filet based and thick. In the containers there was a single skinny snow crab leg and a half of another one. Not the cluster part with all the meat at the joints. I'm talking the skinniest legs out the cluster. A chicken leg and some chicken bits with a bunch of sausage. Then lemon cake was as expected. Everyone appreciated that. Overall, the comment on not serving me because I have a voice on my experience rubbed me wrong. I'm disappointed but I know it's time for me to find a new holiday spot.

His attitude was pleasant, and he had a genuine smile. Not one of those false demonstrations of civility. When you walk in, the smell of the food automatically turns you from hungry to excitedly starving. One of the keys to good food is the aroma from the kitchen. We were ushered to the back, Sunday Church pun intended. Our server got us wonderful drinks. Then we ordered our food, and when those soulful southern dishes arrived, it was the crown jewel of the experience. They looked as good as they tasted. We not only enjoyed the food, but Lonell came and chatted with us. He was genuinely concerned with the quality of our food and service, which was exceptional. When I inquired, I was told, yes, "Dinner" menus are also the weekend. Okie doke. Found out the "Muddy Water" drink on the menu is lemonade, sweet tea and berry juice. My friends and I decided to each order something different so we could sample many things. Chicken plate, salmon plate and meatloaf plate. Each plate came w/2 sides and a "hot water" cornbread muffin. We went with mac n cheese, cooked cabbaged, sweet potato, collard greens, string beans and mashed potatoes as our sides. I hadn't mentioned any reviews to my friends because I wanted their unbiased opinions. Food arrived, they dug in and I started taking pics. IYKYK! lol! Before I could set my phone down the first remark was, 'Wow! That's salty!' Wellllll...Thats what Yelpers had mentioned, but I couldn't believe it was THAT salty. Then I took a bite. Yes, indeed, salty. Everything, except the sweet potatoes was salty. Even the corn muffin was topped with a salty butter "wash". I think we all decided the salmon was the best. The sweet potatoes tasted sugary, which I honestly didn't mind cuz I got a sweet tooth. But my friends passed after a taste. The mac n cheese was good, but I just took a taste from the side to see if I wanted to order an extra side for the table. I didn't. My friend wasn't wild about the texture of her meatloaf. It looked like a hunk of dense cake, it was so finely ground. Not hand formed ground meat like we grew up eating. We skipped dessert and left some things behind. I plan on checking the reviews again before the year ends and see if comments are still talking about the salt content. I'll be back if the salt is reduced because the staff was very nice and attentive and this is a lovely space I hope will be successful for years. Cheers! "CC"

My first visit was slow, but I gave grace because the place had recently gone viral and was packed. This visit was different. We were seated quickly. The restaurant was not busy. Out of about 12 booths and several counter seats, only a few tables were occupied. We placed a simple breakfast order and then waited. And waited. It took almost an hour to get our food. During that time, the table next to us received their food, ate, paid, and left before our plates even arrived. Meanwhile pickup orders started piling up and tickets were stacking in the kitchen. I could see only two cooks working, so I understand being understaffed, but this is a breakfast diner. The food we ordered should never take an hour. Order: Corned beef hash plate with grits, eggs, and English muffin Pancake special with bacon and eggs Burger and fries The pancakes were good and the burger was fine according to my son. Everything else was disappointing. The corned beef hash tasted like canned corned beef seared hard with tiny potatoes and almost no seasoning. The grits were bland and watery with no flavor at all. After waiting that long, the quality did not match the time investment. What made it worse was watching multiple customers visibly frustrated. One couple waited around 30 minutes at the counter and eventually walked out. Unfortunately, about three hours after eating I had stomach cramps bad enough to send me to the restroom. I genuinely want this place to succeed, but based on two visits, the wait times, food consistency, and overall execution are not there yet. I cannot recommend.
