Huge portion of great food!
Alex G.

This was my first time here and it was great! And I came here from Russia to try this amazingly soul food, thanks to my wifey - she always know how to hit the spot Keep it going guys!! I am honestly so t understand why this place don't have 5 STARS here on YELP. Because food is smacking!

Dinner meal was amazing the fried chicken I loved Krispy and the mash potatoes are 10/10 especially the collard greens wow that's all I could say about the food. For dessert I had the peach cobbler just missing a vanilla ice cream on top. Will I come again yes. Best soul food I had in a long time.

My receipt for this pathetic short-rib dinner- no drink included. DO NOT BUY -RIP OFF

THEY ARE NOT THE SAME A meal at Dulan's has never been on the cheap but one thing that has always brought me back is good food and hearty servings. THAT IS NO LONGER THE CASE. My recent short-rib dinner purchase for $31.70, no drink included, was anything but pleasant. They used to give you two proper serving of the shot-rib; now it's one skimpy serving sliced down the center flaked with rice and gravy. As one of my sides I ordered black-eyed peas. It came in a separate container consisting of 90% rice with 10% peas on top of it. I DID NOT ORDER RICE. They used the rice as a FILER. for $31.70, I feel like I've been robbed! Adding insult to injury, the place is very disorganized, unprofessional, and the employee's are rude AF. I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN. THEY RIPPED ME OFF ; AND, THE FOOD PORTIONS ARE NOT WAHT THEY USE TO BE.

Dry breast and dressing with smidgen of dressing...It was literally were you see it in this photo...Smh

I've never ordered from this location until Thursday October 17th... Ubereats order of baked chicken (dark meat), cabbage, mac & cheese, dressing w/gravy and cornbread muffins... I got white meat instead (it was dry) and a smidgen (and I do mean a smidgen) of gravy so the dressing was dry...Very disappointing... Not as flavorful as Dulan's on Crenshaw...3/5 stars...I won't patronize this location again...

Went to SoFi stadium and Dulan's was nearby. Note Sunday there is a different menu. Lined up to order it moved quickly went into another line to pickup here's a pic of our family feast of oxtails (5 pieces) on bed of rice...i will return and try chicken next time. Food was solid! Cane with sweet tea, small dessert cup, two sides and two muffins.

My friend recommended me this spot. He is from Inglewood so I trusted his word. Overall, it was okay. Fried chicken tasted good, but it was extremely tough and dry. I got a thigh piece. Unbearably dry. However, the drum stick was good. Tender enough. Flavor was great. Good seasoning. Sides were good. Fluffy and soft corn bread. Corn bread dressing was good. Not sure if I would go back. I have had better.

Lunch Fried Chicken, Mac n Cheese, Greens and Strawberry Lemonade.

You can always count on Dulan's! Everything was well seasoned, Fried Chicken was crispy and moist. Mac n Cheese was so good and the corn bread was Fire. Check this place out for some home cooked Soul Food.

Collards were delicious

Met up with a friend for lunch. Today was especially busy because it was the grand opening I arrived earlier and saw valet or street parking available. After I parked, I followed the aroma of food which led me to the line for ordering. I also noticed an area for take out which is located on the outside side of the building. The line to order done in moved quickly between the two cashiers. You can view the food menu on the kiosk located above the order station. I tried to use my Apple pay but for whatever reason it didn't accept so I paid with my bank card. I received a number to place for the server to bring your food to the table. The love the open kitchen where diners can view the food preparation. The floor tiles and walls were warm and inviting like a being at someone's home. I love the family history and community photos on the walls. Once you get a table number, find a table for the servers to bring your food with the option seating either indoors or on the heated patio. I also saw another outside area at the back of the restaurant where there was live music. The restrooms are located near the back of the restaurant. The table and chairs reminds me of a café with spacious seating and gathering space for a large event. My food arrived to my table by server Micheal about seven minutes from the time of order. Leonard, also stopped my table to make sure I had what I ordered was correct. Later when my friend arrived and needed her food warmed up, Christian, the GM took care of it and also stopped by to check on us. Lots of great customer service and personal attention. The food was fresh and in large portions. I had the fried fish with a big mason jar of cold sweet tea/ lemonade, red beans/rice, and streamed cabbage (to peppery for me) so I change for collard greens to go with best corn muffins. We could end the day without house-made sweet potato pie. The kitchen did a great job. It was so much to absorb but enjoyed the day. We had a blast and will be back for more.

Ask the Community - Dulan's

Do they still sell the turkey wings?

From what I understand when I visited them on that day they were only out of Lemon Cake..lol.

Which Dulan's is the best to go to the one on Crenshaw or the one on Manchester or Century and western?

Shorter lines at Century location.

What time close?

6pm on sundays

My plate was cool. The lemon pepper shrimp were soft not crunchy and grainy with the bite. My greens lacked flavor, I wish I got the cabbage/greens mix like the others. We all ordered different flavors of the kool-aid. They were all tasty.

Luckily, while out in LA in close proximity to Chinatown, the husband was reminded of Little Jewel. There was no question where we were headed next. We were warmly greeted as soon as we walked in and handed some menus. We were told to take our time, which was needed since everything sounded so good and the husband kept changing his mind on what to order. We finally settled on the Spicy Creole Jambalaya, Craw Mac Deluxe and The Crabster. It all came out hot, fresh and so satisfyingly delicious! The spice level was perfect. Portions were generous. We had initially planned on having beignets but did not have any more room -- even the dessert pocket was full! The atmosphere is very relaxed. They have several tables in the main dining area and the bar section. Orders are placed and picked up at the front counter. Everyone is super friendly. Parking can get a tricky in Chinatown. Although it's no longer my FAVORITE food and I only indulge sparingly, I still have an affinity for it, and can quickly separate the good from the bad. Willie Mae's can confidently go into the good pile. The perfect texture of the batter is the standout. It's light and crisp. Head to head, I think I prefer the flavors and juiciness of Gus's fried chicken. I'll have to give Willie Mae's another go to confirm that this is indeed the case. But Willie Mae's is situated in a better area, it's got civilized sit down table service, cuter decor, and it has way better sides. Knowing myself, I predict that one day, I will decide to remove poultry as well from my diet (I've long excluded mammals from my diet). Since I do not live in the area, it was not a convenient situation. During this recent DineLA restaurant week, I met a friend there for lunch. Now they have a fairly large sit down dining room that was quite busy and it seems like there was a steady stream of takeout. Our server, Desiree was fantastic. She told me this branch was started by the same folks of the original in New Orleans. Due to a an issue with the freeway closure and horrible traffic, we were very late and she kindly honored our reservation. The food was fantastic. Great crunchy and spice on the chicken (it is on the spicy side so be careful if you cannot handle the heat). The little corn breads were just the right amount. We tried the yams, which is a must, but also shared some of the other sides. The cabbage is cooked kind of like collard greens. The butter beans and rice is very tasty. We also tried the mashed potatoes and gravy. All sides are vegan, which I thought was done for the local L.A. crowd, but we were told the sides are vegan in the original recipes. Next time I'd like to try the gumbo and other dishes on the menu.

Bludso's brisket is tender and marinated just right. While some briskets are too salty, Bludso's maintains a light and balanced flavor profile, which lets me enjoy the flavor of the beef. However, be warned that some leaner cuts might be a tad bit dry. The pork ribs were also great. although they weren't "fall off the bone" soft, it's still one of the best ones I've had in LA. The sides were also good. They weren't mind blowing but they were definitely comforting. Overall, Bludso's is a great BBQ spot that I would come to again and again. Definitely one of the best in LA. Note: I do have to say that if you're from Texas, you might not be "wow'd". Franklin BBQ in Austin is leagues above both Bludso's and Moo's (first time in my life having brisket melt in my mouth!!). While portions…read morehave gradually gotten smaller as prices continue to rise, I want to focus mainly on the food quality itself. And overall, Bludso's is still a solid BBQ joint that I'll continue coming back to. Brisket - 4.5/5, Lean Brisket - 3.5/5. The standout here is definitely the beef brisket. They offer two versions: regular brisket and lean brisket. The regular brisket is well-smoked, with tender, moist meat that pulls apart nicely. The dry rub has a great balance of seasoning and flavor without overpowering the beef. My only complaint is that the brisket can be a little fattier than I'd prefer. On the other hand, the lean brisket swings too far in the opposite direction; it has too much lean meat. It loses too much moisture and ends up noticeably dry. Honestly, I wish they offered something right in between the two cuts because the flavor itself is excellent. Even so, the brisket remains the reason I keep returning. Pork Ribs - 3.5/5. The pork ribs are good, though not particularly memorable compared to some of the better BBQ spots around. The flavor is there, but the ribs were slightly dry and lacked the tenderness I was hoping for. The taste and texture just didn't fully come together for me. BBQ Chicken - 2.5/5. The BBQ chicken was probably the weakest meat option I tried. The chicken was properly smoked, but the smokiness completely dominated everything else. I couldn't really pick up much seasoning or flavor beyond the smoke, which made it feel one-dimensional and less interesting overall. As for the sides, the cornbread and baked beans were both above average. The cornbread had a good texture and flavor, while the baked beans had a nice depth and complexity that complemented the BBQ well. The mac and cheese, however, was a letdown for me since it tasted a bit dry. Overall, Bludso's BBQ is still a dependable place for BBQ in LA, especially if you're craving brisket. It may not be perfect across the board. Still, the quality of the smoked meats - particularly the brisket - keeps it firmly in my regular rotation.
