I found Ashley off of her reviews and amazing portfolio and thought I would give her a try. I had high expectations for her and I was not disappointed! She listens to what you want, lets you know her opinion, and made me feel really comfortable. For YEARS I have been going through stylists trying to find someone who would cut my hair right and have been left either devastated or underwhelmed. Usually, there is always something wrong with my hair cut because I have THICK hair and most stylists don't know how to treat it (this is inferred from experience). I highly recommend going to Ashley for your haircut if you have long thick hair you're afraid to have chopped. It feels amazing, looks amazing, and is perfectly blended. Ashley is everything you want in a stylist and more. Honest, creative , and knows her stuff. When it comes to hair you wont find me in a salon very often, but after finding Ashley all I want to do is keep coming back. She is amazing at what she does and always puts your concerns and needs first. I don't have much time for high maintenance hair so of course she explained every aspect of what I want and how much time each would take. We went for an ombre which seemed most suitable for time and lifestyle. While it is a work in progress, coming from Black hair, she is always sure that at the end of the day she does what's best for my hair. I had an appt set up with Ashley but a sooner appt became available with Sabrina, so I jumped at the chance because my hair was a disaster. The sooner the better. I don't even know where to start with Lush Hair Studio! I wish I could give more stars than 5! I reached out to Ashley in desperation to fix a cut and color gone bad. She immediately got back to me and asked for pictures of my hair and what I wanted to do with it. We spoke in depth ahead of booking an appointment just to come up with a game plan and I was able to get an appointment pretty quick! When I got in the shop Ashley didn't rush right in. I just got my hair done by Sabrina and I absolutely love it!! I saw her "before" & "after" pictures and her 5 star reviews on Yelp and I knew I had to make an appointment with her! She got back to me right away and I was sitting in her chair within a week! I showed her a picture of what I wanted my color to look like, and my hair turned out BETTER than the picture! My hair was brassy with super chunky highlights. Sabrina touched up my regrowth and blended in those "harsh lines" with a soft, beautiful, balyage. She also gave me a cut, which I absolutely LOVE!! She blended my layers, it has lots of texture and it's super easy to style. The studio itself is decorated so cute! They offered snacks and refreshments....I even had a glass of wine! After reading from all of the good reviewers I was so excited to make an appointment here with Ashley. I am willing to pay for $225 for my hair (her estimated) and willing to wait over a week til she is available, but booking the appointment with her seems so impossible. Waiting for her response back each time is like a day every time. I feel like I have to played the waiting game or maybe she doesn't want my business..."bad service". I'm very disappointed because of all the good reviews and I just got a bad experience. Now, I have to search for another Hair Salons that wants my business. //// UPDATE- someone just commented on my review saying this wasn't helpful because I never went to the hair salon that if they say it can't be done, it can't be done. Well sorry, i'd have to disagree with that and that also makes me think a loyal customer or employee was the one that commented that. NO hair stylist should EVER tell you that it's impossible to have anything done without giving you any options whatsoever and they shouldn't ignore you either because the request is too difficult or because they're too lazy to do it. If you read my review in FULL, I've noted that there have been salons in the past that told me it's near impossible but that there are some options and that they'd give it a try even if it doesn't end up perfectly how I want it and I said yes and guess what? It ended up amazing. I'm glad they even tried!!! Actually, never before has a salon told me "no" or ignored my consultation before for the SAME request Ive made to other salons. If you believe that if a stylist says "nope that's impossible" is true, then you should find a new salon. //// I have never been in this hair salon nor have I had the chance to. I texted 2 hair stylists from here for a rate on a desired haircut and bleach over text sending a picture of my hair currently and the hair I desired. One of the stylists stopped replying although she may be busy so I will give her a day longer and the other stylist simply told me that it might not be possible. My hair is currently fading from a blue and purple color I had and it is slowly returning to the blonde my hair was bleached at. It hasn't been too long since I've had the color so obviously it's not back at blonde yet but it is getting there. I specified that I'd like to wait for it to fade further before doing anything as well. She kept telling me there was no guarantee the colors would lift which I understand because I've been coloring my hair for some time now so I understand what can and can't be done when it comes to coloring hair but I'm upset because she didn't seem at ALL interested in doing my hair. I've been to other hair stylists (which I don't go to bc I moved to San Marcos for school) and they have all told me "I can't guarantee" which I UNDERSTAND but they have TRIED and kept TRYING until it was what I expected. I know that they can't guarantee anything but I do know that I don't want to go to a salon with stylists that are not motivated to do their job. I don't think I will ever visit this salon nor will I ever try to get a consultation from their stylists again. I recommend speaking to your stylists via text, call, or in person and getting to know the kind of person they are. read more

I found Ashley about 5 years ago and have followed her to three different salons! I am so excited that she has her own place now. I have short hair which can be tricky, but my cut is always perfect. The best thing about the way that Ashley cuts is that as it grows out people jus ask me if I got a new style! It never looks awkward. Just last night at Target I gave a perfect stranger Ashley's card. She liked my cut and color so much she "chased me down to the Crayola aisle." I also love how honest she is when I come in and want something crazy. I decided that I wanted to go chocolate brown (I am a natural blonde). She told me that it would not work well and that I would look pale. I persisted. So....long story short. She did it. The color itself was great, but I looked pale and had to wear three times the makeup I usually wear to not look sick. Three weeks later I came in and humbly had her strip out all of the color in the process to go back to blonde. Thank goodness for her patience! The bottom line is I will follow Ashley anywhere and everywhere! read more
