Venus Gorji is a top notch hairstylist! Her salon is within walking distance in a nice area of Little Italy; small and efficient studio with floor to ceiling windows overlooking Cedar Street located in Sola Salons. Scheduling: very easy! Call her, she answers right away and can accommodate the busiest of schedules. She was able to take me in the same day which I appreciate greatly. Service: Super kind, sweet, down to earth. She has such a free spirit and I love her vibe. I really feel that she listens to what I want as a client, doesn't judge anything, and thus I can be honest about how I feel about my hair and styling. I did a long to medium haircut which was a significant change and cutting off more than a few inches of hair. I went for a Suki Waterhouse kind of look and I believe she pulled it off quite well! I asked for face framing layers, and curtain bangs instead of full on bangs. The after photo of me is a couple days after the cut! It is settling nicely and will be coming back to Venus regularly. read more

Venus has been doing my all over highlights and keeping me blonde for over 15 years. She keeps my gray from appearing and gives me the best blowouts! I have also done her Brazilian Blow Outs numerous times. She's the best and I don't know what I'd do without her. When I lived in Nebraska and the Bay Area I would still come back to have her do my touch-ups. Give her a try. read more

Highly Recommend!! Venus is amazing at coloring and cutting hair. I have been looking for a hair stylist for a long time. It was hard to find someone that could color my hair without creating more damage to it. Venus always makes it look great and she never pulls the color all the way through, so the ends stay healthy. The best part is how fast she does it. She takes half the time of any place I've ever been to in the past and does a better job. I can't recommend her enough! read more

Venus is extremely professional and a true expert in her craft! She was quick to respond to my appointment request and what I assumed would be 1.5hr appointment ended up being 1hr. for a wash, cut, and style! This time savings saved me from being late to an event and I greatly appreciate Venus' efficiency. I highly recommend going to Venus! read more

Venus is great. She always listens to my requests , unlike my last few stylists. She does great highlights that always bring compliments from my friends who knew me with " pre-Venus " hair. Venus Is a very kind person who puts the customer first . She has helped me at the last minute with a blowout and let me come in on a Sunday. Her blowouts look so natural . I never end up with prom hair that I have to redo. In short ... so happy Venus is in my neighborhood . A great person with a lot of experience making hair look great! read more

Venus has tremendous talent, creativity and skill. I have been a loyal client for almost five years and every time I have left her salon after a color, blow-dry or treatment, I feel better than ever. When I leave her salon, I receive numerous compliments on my hair. As a busy professional, Venus' flexibility is superior and her prices are extremely reasonable. She is caring which makes the environment even more enjoyable and fun. I would highly recommend Venus, you will not be disappointed! Venus did my hair for a black tie wedding this past weekend. My hair turned out perfect and I absolutely loved it. Not to mention the fact I received an abundance of compliments on my hair. I have included a picture as proof that Venus truly is the best! read more

La Coupe de Venus - Venus did a fantastic job styling my hair for a black tie wedding that I attended this past weekend. Thank you so much, Venus! - Hair Stylists Near Me - San Diego, California

I was visiting San Diego and found this great salon. Venus washed and blew my hair dry. She did a perfect job.

Wow! I just finished my first haircut with Venus and could not be happier. I found Venus on yelp after calling around different hair stylists for price quotes. I just moved to Little Italy and wanted a convenient hair stylist so I don't miss any trim appointments. Let me tell you, she is incredible! I have paid twice as much for haircuts that were not this good. I have thick, frizzy, hair with baby hair fly aways and she styled my hair so perfectly without having to use a hair straightener at all. The haircut was less than an hour and I loved how the conversation didn't feel forced. She is sweet and genuine, was not afraid to make recommendations when I asked and I didn't feel obligated to buy any products. I came in for a simple trim and came out with healthy hair with a new shape and layers. Now that I think about it, I should've booked my next appointment before leaving! I found my hair stylist and would be happy to drive to her if she ever moves locations. read more

As a newly licensed hair stylist I could not have asked for a better mentor! Venus went to Cosmetology School in France where they make you work longer and test harder for you to pass the bar. She has been perfecting the art of hair (Cut & Color) for well over 10 years. Not only is she the only person I trust with my color, but she is like my family! Love you Venus! PS - With all her experiance, she is also very efficent with her time! If you inform her your in a hurry she will make it work for you. Im talking thick hair blow dry style in 20min! read more

I was visiting San Diego from LA and came across Venus's contact for Brazilian blowout. I had always wanted to try this treatment, so tired of buying anti-frizz products, blow dryers, titanium flat irons, Revlon one step air brush etc. In a little over an hour, my hair was sleek and shiny, a result I could never achieve despite my best efforts at home using the products I mentioned. Venus is WONDERFUL! She is skilled, knowledgeable and her shampoo massage was so relaxing. I wish we had more time to talk. She is easy going, good natured, positive, and offered lots of tips for Brazilian after care, including products I may like to try. Whenever I'm able to visit San Diego again, I will call Venus for another treatment. Highly recommend her for Brazilian blowout! ..... I enjoyed my blowout so much that I treated my 13 year old to her first Brazilian blowout (hoping this will decrease her time getting ready each morning for school!). Venus made her feel comfortable, asked her what music she likes and to play her playlist if she wants. They talked about hair products to use and those to avoid. My daughter left feeling very happy with the result! read more

I've been going to Venus for years and she is the absolute best. She does great with blonde hair and her color is always consistent. I receive tons of compliments after a hair cut by Venus. She does an amazing job of creating cuts that add volume to my fine, wavy hair. Finally, Venus never tries to up-sell treatments or products. Venus is a master at cutting hair! I have long, fine, Asian hair, and Venus perfectly executed my request: to trim a couple inches of my longest layer and give me more shorter layers. Sounds simple enough, but when I made the same request to my last few stylists, the cut always came out...meh. They would barely cut my hair and a few weeks later it would be at the same long, non-layered length as it was before I got the cut. Venus truly understands hair structure and is an expert in this field. She is a such a sweet and pleasant lady and I highly recommend her! I have finally found my trusted stylist in San Diego...yay! read more

I had to pinch myself to see if her prices were real. Not only is she an amazing hairdresser, but her prices are even more amazing! For instance she's running a promo - $15 wash, deep conditioning and blow dry styling - I've paid anywhere from $35-45 elsewhere - NOT ANYMORE! Her styling was much better than anywhere else I've been ever! Her European training is so evident - Let's help her grow her business. She's located right at the corner of Cedar and Union. Trust me - you'll be very impressed. I was and I don't impress easily. read more

I came here based on the reviews in yelp, ended up leaving with the worst haircut in my life. I went there on Wednesday and left with very thick, no texture, no layer hair on the sides. I went back again on Thursday and left with super short, choppy hair on my crown. It's so short that bald spots could be seen on my thinning crown. She charged me $55 for the first time and free for the second time. I regret so much that I went back the 2nd time. A good hair stylist could fix the hair on the sides easily before I went back. But now, even a small trim would make the bald spots more obvious. I can only wait for the hair to grow. She is overall a nice lady. But when I showed her the hair style I wanted, she told me it's impossible because the girl on the picture I showed her "has 5 times more hair than me ". She turned me sideways both times I was there. So I couldn't face the mirror the whole time and didn't know how my hair look until she was done. I guess she does not have good eyesight so she had to adjust my chair to the setting of the lights? Lesson learned. If you need a delicate, or rather short haircut, go somewhere else. read more

I needed a cut for short hair and was new to the area. I called Venus as part of my research and shared my situation and she had me come in to look at my hair. Venus is the most professional and most accurate colorist I have met! You are in good hands with this woman!

OMG!! I am ssssooooo excited!! I have been going to Venus literally for the past 12 yrs when she was on 6th then over by Union. I called about a year ago and drove by sadly to see that she had to close...I have been searching for a stylist ever since with NO LUCK!! Let's see, J.Lo, Salon Ink, Robert Cromeans, Hairspray ALL have been very good....but I just never got that 110% joy from my color and cut like I used to with Venus...AND NOW I FOUND HER!! She opened up her new salon, it is quaint, friendly and she is AWESOME, she is Persian, with a very friendly unassuming vibe, doesn't try to shove products down your throat or convince you to try things you simply don't want. EXCELLENT stylist. Try her, you will be pleased. read more

I've been getting highlights and cuts from Venus for more than four years at her old Salon. I went to her new location this weekend and it's gorgeous. The salon is styled very French-country with an intimate, Little Italy vibe. Go check it out. You won't be disappointed. Oh, and there are unmetered parking spaces out front, which is rare for downtown! Her prices are great and her styling is even better! read more

I reside in New York, but am lucky enough to spend three winter months of every year in fabulous San Diego. Just saw her again and with just a few vague descriptions of a few lowlight colors and highlights, she said "I know what would be perfect." I admit, I have had some horrible experiences with other stylists. My hair came out way beyond my expectations. All of my friends' reviews have been such raves! I think she'll be seeing a lot of extra business soon .... :) Thanks again, Venus! read more

Venus is totally amazing. I have straight blonde hair that shows every scissor cut, and Venus can cut it perfectly. Always. I know because she's been cutting my hair for 20 years with NEVER a bad cut. She's now in a small, charming Victorian house in Little Italy; parking is surprisingly easy. I've recommended her to any number of people, and they've all been happy with her work--she can cut/color any type of hair with skill and panache. You will be happy you called her.
