Uyen added extensions and created a gorgeous bronde color. Over the years we've tried different looks, from very blonde to closer to my natural dark blonde, and I loved it every time! What impressed me the most is how healthy my hair stayed the entire time. After wearing extensions for over two years, I took them out for a while and my natural hair actually looked about 30% thicker than before (The thickest it has ever been). I just got a new set of extensions again and absolutely love them. I went from short hair to almost waist length, and this time we did wavy extensions to match my natural texture. It came out beautifully - the color matches perfectly and it looks very natural, even when I let my hair air dry without styling. Uyen is incredibly attentive and works very meticulously. She really listens and takes the time to make everything blend perfectly. I have known her for over ten years and because I couldn't get back to her ASAP she canceled all my future appointments with no phone call but through text which is extremely disrespectful. Also I referred several people and she charged me $150 more than the people I referred. I always tip 20%. I'm so glad this happened because when she was told not to worry about it I found someone to fix my hair. She asked if I wanted to come in on Tuesday when she's known for 12 years I work 12 hour days. I had no expectations of her coming in but she offered to take then out but would not put them back in. That would've been a nightmare. This has happened a couple times now. She over charges and her work has gone so down hill. I just didn't want to deal with my work and finding someone new. I should've left when she just out of no where started upping her prices only on me. I work extremely hard and she upped her prices and lowered her standards knowing I'd pay it. Don't come here!

I've colored my hair for years and it's become damaged & thin, but i love long & blonde hair so much. So, getting extensions was the best step forward. She handsewn extensions into my hair, the extensions were tight only for the first day, but now I forget I have them unless I touch my head. All I could think when she said that was did I really just spent $600 on something that might start to grow out in only two weeks??? also there's not much of a difference between before and after my hair, every time I told her I wanted something done specifically she told me she was used to doing a different way and that's how she's gonna do it so I felt like I wasn't really heard as well. Besides all that the lady that did my hair was really nice. But- Super super disappointed. Now I'm gonna have to go somewhere else and pay extra money to get it fixed the way I wanted to. More reviews like mine would have saved me my money for sure, which is why I'm writing this. Do not recommend with my personal experience. I visited Salon 650 yesterday and let me tell you that I absolutely loved it. When you walk in they have the doors locked so you have to make sure you know who you're there to see. They'll check your temperature due to Covid as an extra precaution, which gives you more of peace of mind. Marisa was my stylist and she is the best. Out of all the salons I have ever been to she gives the most relaxing hair wash. She will have you relaxed even before you get to her chair for your hair cut. When she was done she cut my hair and she's such a perfectionist and she takes her time. Even after she blow dries your hair she will make sure it is done right before you get out of the chair. I will definitely be going back to her. The salon was quite and very clean. I'm a germaphobe so it's always the first thing I see. Thank you Marisa for the wonderful visit! read more

Erin is my hair queen! I am extremely particular about my hair and was recommended to Erin by a past hairdresser when I was thinking about getting extensions. Erin has been the only person I've let touch my hair since, and it's been over two years now! She is warm, kind, and lovely, and that is all before I mention how knowledgeable she is about all things hair, extension, and color. She knows her stuff through and through and is the top gal for all things hand tied hair extensions in San Diego. She puts her whole heart into her craft and it really shows (I can't tell you the amount of compliments I receive about my hair). There are simply not enough stars to give for Erin. Besides her beauty, both inside and out, she is extremely talented in making others feel like a million dollars. I have very fine, fragile hair and have tried every extension method in the book, i-tips, tape-in, clips-in, etc. Now I have Erin's Habit Handtied Extension technique and can confidently say my hair has NEVER looked better. I had such a wonderful experience at this salon! From the moment I walked in, everyone was incredibly welcoming and kind, it instantly felt like a warm, positive space. Julia was absolutely amazing! If you want people to yell compliments about your hair out of car windows, stop you on the street, and tell you that you've convinced them crazy colors can look good, you need to go to Heather (and get a fun color)! There are so many great things to say about her and Sarah, this is gonna be a long one. You might want to plan to arrive a little early in case you need to park a bit further away, but honestly I've almost never had a problem finding a spot within a block. There's a cute coffee shop next door where you can grab a snack and a drink for if you have a longer appointment. Oh and the dogs here are fantastic so let's just get that out of the way (RIP, sweet Patsy and Frankie). Now hair stuff! Backstory: 4 years ago I walked in with untouched, light brunette hair and basically asked for her to take me platinum blonde in one sitting so I could have lavender hair. I now know that is absolutely impossible for me and Heather was the first hairdresser to be honest about having realistic hair goals instead of taking my money, damaging my hair, and giving me something less than what I wanted. If you're making a serious investment in your hair, why not protect it? I'm a nerd so she explained everything to me in a scientific way that made perfect sense, even though hair stuff has always been so confusing to me. No hairdresser I've had before has done that to such an extent so I really appreciated that she wasn't annoyed by all my questions. My favorite thing about Heather is she does NOT compromise on quality. How many hairdressers do you know who will run around town for you searching for hair color because your freakish hair eats kitchen tupperware amounts of color? I could say so much more about Heather but I think the pictures will speak for themselves :) We've tried a lot of purple over the years and I've had so much fun with every unique look Heather came up with. It's pretty cool to have someone's art on your head and if you let Heather do her thing, you'll probably end up with some of the best hair color of your life. You'll hit hair goals so many times it will get old! I'll have to leave a separate review for Sarah because she deserves her own :)

He's amazing and he's the only one that can control my full thick hair in San Diego. He's super talented and his customer service is 10/10. The only issue with this Salon, is the location. It's not in the best area and lately every time I've gone, there's a group of guys always smoking cannabis, drinking out front and fighting. I understand Cannabis is legal in California but as a girl and having to walk past a group of 4-5 guys who are high/drunk just to get my hair done doesn't necessarily make me feel safe. The last time I got my hair done, it took over 8 hours since Alan is actually allergic to cannabis and had to take multiple breaks. He mentioned that the walls are pretty thin and the canabis smell/ smoke can come through pretty easily and affect his work. Which I could actually smell every time I go inside. I truly feel so sad for Alan and Beautiful You Sis Salon as their business is being affected. This wasn't an issue before and like I've said, I've been coming here since early this year. I hope they can get this figured out before they start losing customers as most of us are women. I have an appointment coming up and will update my post in case I see a change.
