I went in to get my hair done, but while I was waiting one of the hair stylists, a guy with a black beard, was arguing with a customer about politics! It was so unprofessional and quite disturbing. He kept claiming Trump was the worst president ever, etc. He even yelled at the customer about how much he hates Trump. I will never go there again. read more

For my wedding, I had my hair colored chocolate brown. Two months later, I wanted to go back to the original light ombré I had but my hair turned orange. I saw a girl at the gym with the prettiest blonde ombré. I asked her for the 411 on who did her hair and she referred me to Brandy. I was anxious going into the salon because I didn't want my hair to fry off from bleaching it again and again. I showed Brandy a few pics but wasn't really certain of anything in particular. I waited a week to calm down before I posted a review. It looks like a 2yr old took some scissors and went ham on my hair. I had an appointment inside the same building as Meridian Salon and decided to stop in and get new bangs cut. My bangs have been trimmed in this style many times before, so I am very specific when explaining what I want to ensure everything turns out ok. There are many different ways to part the hair for bangs, so when explaining that I wanted a triangle part, I also motioned how the part should look. I also specified that I wanted my haircut to sit just above eye level when dry, asked for the cut to be textured and piecy to avoid a "heavy" look, and the edges to blend in to the rest of my hair. Normally, most stylists would part my hair and ask me if the amount looked ok. The lady who cut my hair stood in front of me, so I couldn't fully see everything she was doing. I assumed she was sectioning my hair when all of a sudden she starts cutting. I was a bit shocked because when she moved (and I could finally see myself in the mirror) and I could finally see that she cut too much hair. I started to panic a little and tried to tell her that the cut didn't look right. She tried to assure me that it would turn out ok after she finished. She asked to wash and blow dry my hair so I could see the cut better. As she started to blow dry my hair, I could definitely see that the cut look awful. She parted my hair too far back and poorly blended the sides. When I told her that she took off way too much, she said that she took off what I showed her. Mind you, I was motioning an example of how I wanted the shape of my part to be done, I DID NOT tell her to cut off my hair starting mid crown. At this point, I was in tears because I knew my hair was RUINED. I told her that I wanted to stop and leave because I didn't feel comfortable anymore. She insisted that I stay and asked her co-worker to try and fix my hair. I believe his name was Brad. He was very kind and UNDERSTOOD EXACTLY what I wanted, so I know that I did explain what I wanted properly. He tried to fix it, but at that point, nothing would have made it better. I haven't emotionally broken down in public before, but I couldn't hold back my tears. I have an autoimmune disease, alopecia. This condition causes my hair to fall out, so having someone cut off a big chunk of hair is DEVASTATING to me. My hair is very thin and does not grow back fast. I told the hairstylist and the front desk, but they were a bit dismissive, stating that my hair looked fine. I didn't get charged for the botched haircut, but I was asked by the front desk lady to leave a tip for the guy who tried to fix my hair, which I feel was a bit tacky. This is not personal against the guy who tried to help, but when I wanted to leave, the stylist asked her co-worker to try and fix what she did. If anything, she should have given her co-worker compensation because I DID NOT ask for him to come over and fix it. I ended up giving him a tip anyway because he was kind enough to try. I work in luxury sales and have very high end clientele that I have to meet with on a daily basis. My self esteem is completely shot and I'm having a hard time at work. My birthday is also coming up and I'm not going to be able to take any pictures. I've worked in a salon part-time during my college days, and the normal protocol is to repeat and verify with the client the amount of hair to cut before anything begins. From the outside, this looked like a nice salon downtown, but very disappointed with the service. I advise to come here with caution!! read more

This now is my go to place for an excellent hair cut or hair style however you want to call it. I've gone to Robert who now runs the place, he is like the big Kahuna and make sure that all of the people that work their are not only competent but are excellent. Robert has worked in some of the most upscale salons in New York, Florida, and Arizona he is incredible. But of course your wallet is going to pay the price. Don't get me wrong he is worth it, but I'm always looking for value. Noticed I said value not cheap. So I want to get the maximum affect for what my hard earned dollars can buy. I told Robert my situation and what I wanted and he recommended to me and my wife see Brandy. Wow! Am I glad he did! Brandy is wonderful, straight forward, gives an excellent Hair Cut, she only charged me thirty dollars for a haircut. I was so happy with what she did I tipped her ten dollars, and I never tip. My wife's hair looks great, my hair looks great. Sorry Robert I can't be faithful to you any longer, I've found a new love and her name is Brandy! She's a fine girl, what a good wife she would be. . . In all seriousness Brandy delivers on all accounts, and she certainly provides value with her low prices and excellent hair cuts in these tough economic times. read more

Decide to go here for a eyebrow job and what can I say, I so wish I have never went in this place. After getting my eyebrows wax in like 5 minutes I pay for my service and then walk home having this irritated feeling on my face, but I was thinking we'll is jut the wax it will get better later. As soon as I walk inn my house my husband looks at my face and ask me what happen I said why he say go look in the mirror they burn your face, so I go take a look in the mirror and it was so bad they burn my face bad, now I have this scar in my face. I'm always apprehensive about trying out a new salon but someone (with great hair) had recommended me to try this salon so I went for it. I have a shade of blonde (platinum) that is hard to keep up with since I naturally have medium/dark brown hair and used to have a lot of orange-y undertone from dying the underside of my hair brown a year prior...until I went to Bridget! Bridget has toned, colored, highlighted, and cut my hair. Only took two tonings for her to get my orange out without turning my hair gray or purple, bleaches my head without burning my scalp (ouch), and turns my thick hair into a sleek A-line bob that is easy for me to style at home. Want AMAZING pink and white acrylics? Then go see Dede Dulaine - she's fabulous; hands down (pun intended!) she's the best in all of San Diego and quite possibly west of the Mississippi! I've been rocking acrylics CONSISTENTLY since I was old enough to earn my own money to keep them on. I'm a gnawer, a picker, a biter and a crazy clean freak (translation - I scrub my showers and floors with things so powerful they've likely burned a hole in my lungs!). I used to have to get my hands done every week because I either picked the corners off so many they looked hideous or I melted off a few with Kaboom. I was (and still am) hard on my nails. Once I met Dede my days of flat super wide nails (that made my hands look HUGE) or thick sets that bubbled when I picked and gnawed (subsequently trapping water underneath and leaving green fungus spots) were over. She's awesome and gets it. In 12 years of weekly fills and quarterly full-sets (because before Dede I swore blind you had to start over with new nails every few months to keep them turning brittle) she's the only one to keep a set on me longer than a few weeks. She doesn't roll her eyes when you ask for your white really curved or your pink really pink and she doesn't get an attitude if you ask her to sculpt a nail on your natural nail instead of using a tip. She's awesome and can do it all. Word to the wise; she books up FAST and if you're like me and prefer evening appointments (BONUS - they have FREE (downtown!!) parking after 5 PM and on Saturdays!) you should really call a few days in advance!
