I tried all day to get an appointment scheduled online and with multiple calls. It was pending all day long until I called and looked into it and ended up being denied minutes after the call with no follow up to reschedule or reasoning as to why it was denied. Tried to book again online still pending. Called multiple times and was put on hold or hung up on. Finally someone said they would get back to me and never did. No has reached out. The website won't let me withdraw or cancel the pending request within 24 hours even though it hasnt been accepted. My experience trying to set up this appointment felt very disorganized and unprofessional and my business was not valued at all. Booking a hair appointment should not be this difficult and never had this type of issue anywhere else before. I am so happy that Karaline Nichole is at this salon!! I used to go to her when I lived in the East Bay Area up near San Francisco. I was so bummed to not have my hair done by her when I moved to San Diego. Then to my happy surprise, she moved to San Diego and started working at Cut! Cut has gained a rockstar. I am always so in love when Karaline does my hair. She is truly kind and makes you feel beautiful. She really listens to what you want and delivers above and beyond. This is a great salon to say the least! 100% because of my stylist Kree. Well, I do also like that they serve wine when you walk in and the location is great. Front desk guy is awesome! Kree is not only a great colorist (my blonde is on point and always get compliments), she's also an amazing stylist and always knows the new trends and what works for my hair. She's been doing my hair since I was in my early 20's (I'm 50 now). I've moved away a couple times and when I come back I always need my Kree fix to make me beautiful. Don't go here! While the stylists may be good, they have horrible customer policy. We had a situation where a dental appt was running late and and we had to reschedule for later in the day which they did. Before second appt, we called to say we are in traffic and would be there 15 minutes behind, and they said come on in. We get there and stylist left, even with the warning. After saying we wanted our deposit back for showing up and stylist not being there, they said this was our fault for being late, and that we owed them. It would be one thing if we didn't show at all, it would be one thing if we showed up late with no warning, it would be one thing if they said don't come in because stylist can do job losing 15 minutes, but none of this was true. After speaking with owner, I was shocked he would be petty and argue about $35 but preferred to defend a stylist who couldn't wait after being told we were late, instead of protecting their own business and arguing with customers.... Also, the owner tried to say I was petty when in fact he is petty and frankly running a scam .... There are far better shops / salons etc in the area , pls don't support this behavior /// nice reply Rafael. Filled with lies.... You are unprofessional and your staff told us to come in when your stylist was not there.... And then try to make us this story.... Pathetic. Have to say hands down the best experience I have ever had at a new place this year, yet alone a new hair salon. Need to start of by saying how easy it was to schedule an appointment, after a lot of searching for a new hair goddess I was able to find this place. It was simple to schedule as I went online you pick a date and they give you so many options of who's available that day and times... no need to be clicking back and fourth. Convenient location, plenty of parking metered and non metered. Was greeted by two wonderful ladies in the front who took my temp and asked if I wanted something to drink. Then they gave me a robe and they have the cutest little coat closet . I made an appointment with Raphael who was the most polite and outgoing owner I have came across. He was able to talk me out of bangs which was a good thing before I looked like a cartoon character, and was able to help me choose a style that suits my face. He was able to show me some ropes of how to style my hair and have fun with it. Let me tell you I didn't find a hair goddess but definitely found a hair god. I did alot of research, being new to the san diego area, and I came across this hair salon THE CUT on yelp, and read a lot of good reviews for this certain hair stylist, (Thu Nguyen) her reviews had a lot to do with the Ombre hair style. I waited for about 3 weeks to get my hair done with Thu Nguyen, she was always booked, the day finally came, my hair was chopped to my shoulder blades, and then was Ombre Bleached. The process took 6 1/2 hrs for the lift and cut, the end result was a shocking dull gray sandy color. I was very unhappy. Thu knew i was unhappy when she saw the look of horror on my face when I finally saw my hair. Thu mentioned I would have to come back to get it lifted more, but this was the best she could do at this point. I asked why was it so gray instead of blond and she said the the toner was put in my hair to pull out the bronze/orange color from the original dark brown color of my hair. However, the toner actually turned my hair silver old lady gray (literally). Thu's next available appointment would be a month from now that day, but then she said she could probably get me in in two weeks. I was so frustrated, disappointed, and embarrassed with the end result. In addition, I was caught off guard by the price, considering I was walking out with almost all gray hair. $250 Ombre Full Head Long Hair (hair cut to just below shoulders.) In the end, $50 Toner (which turned my hair gray) and a haircut for an additional cost. If I wouldn't have complained the next day, this hair stylist would have been fine with this being the end result. That was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I returned home and explained the situation to my fiance who became very upset. He decided to write a negative review on Yelp for the business. I texted Thu the next day upset, she got me in the same day to fix my hair situation. She said she would wash out the toner, and if I was still unhappy with the Ombre look, then she would lift and bleach my hair again. She mentioned it would usually cost more, but she was doing this for free as a "favor" to make me happy. The Ombre style I payed for which was improperly done wasn't completed bleached, just partially. I would have had to come back for another visit for my hair to be finished for an additional price. Three hours later, my hair was lifted and finally looked a lot better. While I was there, for the second day, the owner/manager as well as the stylist confronted me about a negative review that was posted on Yelp. They essentially bullied me in front of other patrons because "it could hurt our business." However, you did fail to provide the service I asked for. Overall, I felt like I was bullied and singled out in public for for complaining about how my hair turned out horribly gray, and for not being aware of the process of the Ombre. I understand the process, but not for the price they charged at this business. Paying such a high price, I expect the stylist to know what they are doing, and I also expect professional quality after 6 and 1/2 hours plus an additional 3 hrs the following day; neither of which I received on this visit. To the manager/owner and employees: a yelp review in regard to the service received is a valid right, especially if you didn't come through with the services I paid for AND blamed ME for wanting it done properly?I urge you to take another look at your training process. read more

I always come in to see Elena for a cut and color. She has been doing a red ombré on me since June 2014, but I've been seeing her for years! I love the way she works in the red so it blends in nicely with my dark hair. It's nice also because she always gives her input on your ideas you have for your hair. She was gently and firm, walked me throughout the processes, let me know what she was doing and what she was going to do next. He was exactly what everyone reviews are about. He knows about hair. Originally I wanted him to change my hair color from Asian black hair to a blond. Unfortunately he schedule was booked, so I went in for a haircut. He took his time explaining his thoughts before proceed on my hair. He is wonderful. He preferred me to Telima for hair color change. The process was very pleasant. She explained what her plan and how my hair would be after session BEFORE diving into bleaching. She asked me for my confirmation before proceed which is nice to hear because you can always back out. They are there for your comfort, definitely not after your wallet. I came in as Asian hair with a 2 on the scale. After first session, telima got me into a 7 after 4-5 hours . I'm more of a platinum/silver blond after the second session and I spend 2-3 hours there. It was a log process but it was well worth it. After bleaching/toning, my hair isn't not as damaged as I thought it would be so it's a plus. I found my own iconic hairstylist duo. I vote for Kree!!!! I found an Amazing hairstylist; Kree!!! I moved to San Diego two years ago and didn't trust anyone to cut my hair until I found Kree. We met at spa establishment in the waiting room and she mentioned if I needed a haircut to call her. The timing was Perfect!!! I was thinking about trimming my long hair, felt our paths crossed for a reason, so I gave her a call. Went to my appointment and she recommended taking several inches off to give my head some rest, which I needed. My hair is very thick and curly/wavy which brought stress to my head/neck. I decided to go for it and cut off 4-5 inches!!!! This was a huge step of faith for me but I was relieved of the weight and she gave me a great layer look.
