Thu is amazing!!! I heard of her through my friends who are regulars and then followed her on instagram to check out her work. I scheduled my appointment 1.5 months ago and got a haircut yesterday. Good stylists are usually booked out way in advance, so it's definitely reasonable and worth the wait. I tend to be super critical as a former hair model who had top stylists work on my hair for years. Thu's studio is in a great location with lots of parking. The studio is a cute one-seater. I think this is one of those salons where stylists rent out a studio and work independently. It's intimate and comfortable. No complaints here. You won't have other customers to eavesdrop on and don't worry, Thu is conversational but she doesn't talk excessively or ask you a million questions when you just want to sit in silence. There are lots of chocolates and snacks--yes, thank you for that! For my haircut, Thu advised me on what styles would work for me as someone who does not want to spend a lot of time (or any time) on upkeep in the morning. She lightened my hair and gave it texture for more movement and volume. Her technique seemed great, and she used time consuming approaches that you don't see at non-"high-end" salons (e.g., drying the hair first before cutting so it looks more natural, lightening the hair and giving it more movement using scissor work on bottom layers). I didn't have to style my hair after showering--it just looks great as is. What I really appreciated about Thu was that she was OCD while being open to input. She made adjustments until she was satisfied, and she checked-in several times to make sure I was getting what I wanted. I'm typically really hesitant to tell stylists when I want something fixed and would rather go home and watch youtube to fix it myself :P She was so genuine and open that I felt comfortable. There wasn't anything I wanted to fix, but in case I need to make adjustments in the future, I'll be okay telling her! Oh, one more thing. I also appreciated Thu's honesty. I want to go white/silver, and other salons have told me they would do it in one sitting. Thu told me she would not do it, and that I would be going in stages to prevent major damage to my hair. Thu is an amazing, talented, patient hairstylist. She is honest with you the moment you sit in her chair. She carries a personality that keeps you from falling asleep during your hair appointment. I've had three appointments with Thu thus far and she never fails to disappoint. I found Thu online after searching and searching for someone to fix my "orange" balayage. My number one requirement when getting my hair done, DON'T MAKE IT ORANGE. Asian hair has that tendency and of course what did I walk out with after 3 hours? Orange hair. So for weeks I walked around with orange hair waiting to be able to have it corrected. Yes ladies how is it possible that someone can have this many consistently outstanding reviews? Its because she really is THAT good. Thanks to Thu, I have never been THIS HAPPY with my hair. I've never had a more perfect shade of "blonde" on my dark bruentte hair. After my first visit with her I was hooked. I've tried many top salons as well as been in some "insta famous" chairs prior to Thu.
